    Rockfest was good

by Granby1 on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

Bands were awesome if you could get thru the mud to see them. missed two bands because of the long line to get in. NO LAWN CHAIRS!!!! My back hurt so bad I thought I was going to have to get an ambulance.

    Awesome

by ChristyCritterzKC on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

I've only been to a few concerts in my life. But I can proudly say that by the time Papa Roach fininished, I had finally lost my voice. What a totally stellar experience I had and with some amazing friends too.

Rockfest doesn't disappoint but tired of MUDFEST!!

by Anonymous on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

Rockfest was great but I wish we could get a break for one year and have a good weather day! Volbeat, Papa Roach and Halestorm were great. Disappointed that Rob Zombie didn't bring the big show! Not mad that Tech 9 was at Rockfest but I don't listen to rap music. Gave it a listen but not for me. Nice story that he is from KC and is gaining in popularity. So I guess next year we are going to have a country band at Rockfest! Move the date back to June! I know what the promoters are trying to do by having it in May so it doesn't get so hot. But let's be honest... since they have started doing it in May there has MAYBE been 1 year that was a descent day. I'm a little tired of walking through ankle deep mud to get food and drink! The DJ's and staff will never admit it because they are high and dry. Their response will be everyone has a great time out there and I do. But is would be so much better if it was DRY and SUNNY! Let's be honest May just hasn't worked!

    Rob Zombie Killed It!!

by midgetmomma on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

The concert itself was amazing! In This Moment was a little disappointing with all the smoke on stage. The only thing I can think of to better this place would be the bathroom situation. Leave the porta Lotty's for the girls... Men can go in troughs.

    Awesome Experience

by EerianSadow on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

Every band was awesome (even the ones I don't like) and the energy was so intense that I'm still pumped up three days later! A+, will Rockfest again!

    Nothing More was amazing.

by Kimwatey on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

Ive been to the last 5 Rockfests. This year may be my last one. At least until they put different bands in the mix. I'm sick of seeing papa Roach every other year. Volbeat puts on an amazing show, along with Nothing More and All That Remains. But two of these bands had barely any stage time and that disappoints me. Tech N9ne SHOULD have gotten more time. Papa Roach was on stage forever it seemed like.

    Another fantastic concert

by ladybug55 on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

Rockfest again did not disappoint as far as the music. I like the venue, but unfortunately because of all the rain from days before, it turn again into a muddy mess. Looking forward to next year Rockfest and hopefully sunny, warmer weather.

    Rockfest

by Anonymous on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

Sound for the main stage is only good if you are standing in front of it. Anything to the side of the stage gives you poor sound. It was almost impossible to see all the bands as there was no time between bands to walk to the opposite stage. I am very disappointed. Next year they need at least 15 minutes lag time between bands. Volbeat was awesome!

    Larger Venue Needed

by Stalker6908 on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

I understand that it has done great on the Grounds of the liberty memorial all these years, but the grounds have to keep spreading and spreading, and with the amount of rain we got this year it made it difficult to get around. Although in an overall standard it was great, i think they would do greater at a larger venue or area such as the speed way, which would allow not only more walking room and such it would add seating to relax and be able to take a break during those bands you don't care to see, also there you would not have to worry as much about mud or having to re-seed. But the fact was that i was upset that Pretty Wreckless wasn't there but i understand. Other than that one thing it was a pretty easy going year. loved the third stage.

    Clusterfest

by TammyF on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

    1. Pretty Reckless cancelled because they didn't have a drummer. Really? 2. Rob Zombie didn't even bring his whole stage show. ??? 3. Rap at a heavy metal festival??? 4. Bathrooms for 50,000+ people only in one location - on a hill caked in mud where you wait for at least an hour to use one. 5.Johnson County people trying to get Missouri people to fund a playground for them. 6.Cigars, pot and enough smoke to give you lung cancer. I have been a long time Rockfest person but I don't know if I will go again because of this year. Very sad.

Horrible set up. No good place to watch. Very unsafe environment. Never ever will I return. Felt sorry for the bands that had to play this featival. Tickets are too cheap, brings in way too many people & MOST are not there for the MUSIC! people standing in their own peed pants, people without pants because they pooped their pants! Not enough concessions or porta pottys. The most disgusting of people u have ever had to be around. Horrible, horrible event. Was only there for 3 hours & was absolutely disgusted! Never again! And I will spread the word. I traveled from Oklahoma & was not happy to have spent all of the money for gas, food, hotel,etc....all for this skankfest.

    Great Show-Papa Roach was Great!!

by Susan6368 on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

Show lineup was pretty good. The downside and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the show started at noon, but many fans didn't get into the venue until almost 2 pm. Maybe the gates should open 2 hours ahead of the first act when there are 50,000 people in attendance. Also, the Monster Energy (main) stage and the main food vendor concourse was not accessible unless you wanted to be wading through mud. So I spent most of my time at the Worth Harley Davidson stage since it was less muddy. I know you run this risk when you go to an outdoor festival, but this is ridiculous.

    Rockfest #3

by Achie87 on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

Rockfest is always a wonderful time. The atmosphere is just amazing. You are surrounded by fellow rockers enjoying the same thing... GREAT MUSIC. This year it was a bit too cold and muddy so I took points off for that. Also the lineup wasn't the best I've seen. I was disappointed in Rob Zombie.. also hated the Halestorm show but otherwise it was just as expected! :) Thank you, Ticketmaster!

    Rockfest- Never Again!

by MareMare1022 on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

I am a concert lover and was very excited for Rockfest. I do NOT understand why they would sell 50,000+ tickets to a venue like this. there were WAY too many people. I spent $50 on a ticket, drove from St. Louis, got a hotel room... and could not even BEGIN to get close enough to the stages to see the bands I wanted to see...SO, essentially, I paid $50+ to watch the bands I wanted to see on a screen. I am also very confused on the way the bathrooms were set up....ALL of the bathrooms were on one side of the park, so If I was sitting on the only grass I could find by the 2nd stage, and needed to use the bathroom, I had to make a good 20 minute trek across the whole damn park and through muddy terrain and hills to get to them. It was absolutely ridiculous. We left early b/c there was no way I was going to deal with needing to use the bathroom there again. I also think it is insane that there is no re-entry. It is an ALL day festival. There were bathrooms right outside the gates that I was told if I went to use them, I would not be allowed back in. All in all, over-crowded, muddy, bad bathroom situation, and rude employees. If you enjoy watching your favorite bands on a sub-par screen, waiting in HELLACIOUS lines for EVERYTHING, & walking a mile to use a disgusting porta-potty...then Rockfest is the place for you. As for me, I was highly disappointed and will not be back.

    not a fan

by Brieg on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

I was pretty disappointed. Papa Roach was good, Volbeat was good, I even enjoyed Tech. Rob Zombie, which is who I went to see, did not live up to expectations. I know he is getting older, but he did way too much talking and not enough singing. He sang a few songs from other bands, but he is what I paid for and I only stayed long enough for Living Dead Girl. I wanted to hear his songs. Maybe I am gettng too old, I'm only 35, but I don't enjoy getting pelted with mud and constantly getting approached by stupid people asking to see my boobs when I am trying to enjoy a concert.
