    Good Bands-Horrid Venue

by Zombie1989 on 6/4/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

I have never been to a concert where there were so many unbelievably rude people. The mud was completely disgusting & the set up overall of the venue was awful. The bands were good that we seen, but overall I would not recommend this event to anyone wanting to have a good time as it was completely miserable.

    KCMO WORST VENUE EVER!

by Punisher690 on 6/4/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

It's sad that so many great bands had to play in the Liberty Memorial Pit. Rob Zombie, Volbeat, Halestorm, but as a fan I gotta say this place sucks. Complete and utter mud pit from all the rain just made it worse. I don't know how many people were there, but it was too many. You couldn't get close to anything. Over long lines to the mobile toilets, beer lines. Miserable. Although the mud was a big part of why I hated the event, I have to say if it was dry its not an ideal spot for a huge rockfest. Downtown, traffic, expensive parking, long walk to the event. No thanks. Rather go to the smaller events with more space. Too many trees and too many monitors. I didn't go to watch Rob Zombie on a TV screen. I can do that at home for free.

    Muddy Mess

by petesap on 6/3/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

This was my first time to the Rockfest festival. I have been to a lot of 3 day festivals but non were ever as muddy as this one. I think the it would have been enjoyable if it would'nt have been so muddy. They could have had a better layout for the stages and the sound and lighting for Rob Zombie on the main stage just sucked. But you can beat the price of $37.50 so I will probably have to give it a second chance.

ROCKFEST was AWESOME!! Volbeat, Hail Storm, Papa Roach, Tech 9, Nothing More, and My Father's Gun were fantastic!! The entire line-up was great, the day was perfect, and there is no bigger, better, or more fun one day festival anywhere in the world. LONG LIVE ROCKFEST KANSAS CITY!! Thanks to Johnny Dare, Jesse James Dupree, A-Hole Bob and the whole crew from 98.9 for putting on an unparalleled day of Rock Excitement!!

    Music and people-watching - unbelievable!

by cskten on 6/3/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

Halestorm, Papa Roach and All That Remains were excellent. Was disappointed in the fact that the park didn't put down more mulch to hopefully prevent a lot of the mud near concessions behind the Monster main stage. It was a lot of fun, but the mud put a damper on things.

The show was amazing. They're are only a couple things that keep it from getting 5 Stars. one is to many people you could hardly walk around with out bumping into someone. the second thing was all the mud which made it even more difficult to walk around the overly crowded event.

    Rockfest '15

by MCG1 on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

The bands were amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed all the shows and especially getting to hang out in the Monster Energy trailer. The only pit fall (and a HUGE one) was that who ever organized the show thought that 20 porta-potties in the middle of a mud hole would be enough access for 10,000 people... Didn't quite do the job. People were actually charging others to use the bathroom behind a held up blanket. Would've easily been a 10 star show if not for that one HUGE oversight!

    Loved the crowd interaction!

by eckamb on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

This was the first time I went to Rock fest. I loved it! The singers would interact with the crowd and loved the crowd surfers. I am a huge papa roach fan so when he played some of his older songs I went crazy! However, there were some things I didn't like. The pot. It seemed like everyone near me was smoking a joint. The mud. They need to put mulch everywhere, not just by the stage. Overall , I loved it and will try to return next year!

Tech N9ne was of course AMAZING! And same with Otherwise. However, even though the bands were awesome, something different needs to be done with how the bathrooms are set up. Instead of having all of them in one spot- the furthest away from the stages- there needs to be multiple locations for them. It would be a lot easier and quicker to go to the bathroom and run back to whichever stage you want to be at next, if it didn't take 30 mins to walk through all of the people- and the ridiculous amount of mud, which did not have enough mulch put down on it this year, to be honest. Because it took so long to get to the bathrooms, I was only able to see one out of the 15 bands close-up, and that was Otherwise. Other than that I had to basically barely listen to the other bands, because the further away you get from the stages, the harder it is to hear or understand which song is playing. It would be a lot better if there were more speakers randomly placed throughout the park, instead of just at the stages.

Unfortunately it rained this year and there wasn't much precaution made for it. All the bands were very good but the main stage was set up terribly if you were over 30 feet from the stage you couldn't see or hear at all. The second stage was setup very well it was on a slight hill so even if you were all the way in back you could still see and hear very well. I took my dad with me who is 50 and he has bad knees and there were no seats anywhere not even a small seating area off to the side of anything so your choices we're stand or sit in mud

    TECH N9NE every year!!!

by MirandaO on 6/2/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

The line up this year was very disappointing .. was saddened that one of the bands canceled. I do want to point out that Tech N9ne was absolutely unforgettably the best show I've seen in a long time! I hope he comes back every year and definitely should headline!

Best 12 hour rock and roll show EVER. It had rained for 2 weeks prior to this venue and it was nothing but mud and still was the best time I have ever had with 50,000 people!! 98.9 The Rock and Kansas City know how to put on a concert.

There were extremely too many people and it was terribly muddy. I didn't even get to see In This Moment because we left before they performed. We left because being there was becoming too stressful and too overwhelming.
