    Great event. Bad event information

    by Big1059ConcertGoer on 4/6/16Markham Park - Sunrise

I was at the festival from 11:30am to 10:30pm. It was an awesome event overall. All the bands were excellent including the warm up local band. ** I have one major complaint. The RockFest website stated that certain items were ok to bring which was not the case. Small backpacks were supposed to be allowed but I was denied this at the gate and had to throw away my backpack or trek it back to the car 1/2 mile away. Sunscreen was not allowed either if they were in aerosol cans so I had to throw that away as well. This information should have been more specific on the website. The backpack dimensions and/or specifics should have been posted. The sunscreen specifics should have been defined as well. I tried to comply with what was requested and would have if the site would have been more definitive. This is frustrating to start the day arguing with the security personnel about what the website states was allowed and what was actually allowed in. Surprisingly, Ratt had and extremely polished act and sounded just like their albums. I have been to Ratt concerts in the past and they did not sound nearly as tight as they did at this festival. Sabastian Bach was a great performer and really had the energy to capture the crowd. Winger was a bit of a disappointment as they had problems with audio levels for the first 3 songs. But they were good once they got it sorted out. Slaughter was not that tight and their sound levels were way off most of the set but their energy was awesome. Paul Rodgers was awesome too of which was expected. Great sound and performance.

    Back to the 80s!

    by Lisa1985 on 4/5/16Markham Park - Sunrise

We enjoyed Rockfest80's. We were only able to attend Saturday but the lineup on Saturday was amazing. I was able to see several bands that have been on my bucket list. The festival needs to be promoted more for better turn out next year and fans would appreciate knowing the bands preformance times ahead of day of.

    First Year Success

    by gkuyk1971 on 4/5/16Markham Park - Sunrise

We had a blast; enjoyed both days. The line up was great; ticket prices were ok but VIP was a little to high. Biggest issue we felt was not enough time between sets; didn't give your vendors much time to make money because if you wanted a good view you had to go straight from one to the other and hold off on buying drinks. I know it was a park but a liquor licence would be good if possible. They had a very good selection of food and it was good just a little pricey. All in all it was a great show that made a lot of new memories for my wife and I.

    Two days of awesome music

by SlaughterFan on 4/5/16Markham Park - Sunrise

Amazing event. Great music, awesome venue, plenty of vendors and facilities. Very well organized and not too crowded so no beer line and no bathroom lines! Can't wait for next year

    So much fun

by Jonnny on 4/5/16Markham Park - Sunrise

What an amazing event. Excellent location, layout, concessions and police presence. The only thing missing was another 10,000 people.

    Good but lacked....

by Edevarona on 4/5/16Markham Park - Sunrise

Some acts rocked some were lame. I think the biggest dissapoointment was the lack of fans. You could see the artist were not happy with the small crowds. And it lacked in umph. People were not fired up and excited like a crowd usually inspires each other.. Also it needs better organization. Parking was designed poorly. No re entry was tough as it was a long day and very hot. It would've been née to go home and shower for the evening acts.

    Mostly good

by BeasleyRyder on 4/5/16Markham Park - Sunrise

I was only able to go to the fest for Saturday but enjoyed it very much. The bands were good and for the most part had good energy. The crowds were smaller than I had thought but that worked out to our (the fans) advantage. I will probably come back if they do it again. No review is complete with out some bad news 1. Pricing was a bit high. I would have liked to see some sort of two day package deal. Tickets, food, beer and water was $400 for two of us, plus the $15 parking fee. Too much!!! 2. Parking- I arrived at 12:30 and we had to park WAY in the back of the park. Normally when you arrive early, you are closer to the entrance. 3. The body cavity search at the entrance. I get that there are many items not allowed and there should be some sort of search. But it took way too long and the girls at the gate checking did not seem trained. Take a look at how it's done at a Dolphin game. They move people though quickly and do a solid search.

    Rockfest 80s

by transitize on 4/5/16Markham Park - Sunrise

Great two day event. started promptly at 12 pm each day. Each band played for about an hour. Very well organized event which made it more impressive. Great job Sunrise. Hope there is one next year. Only draw back was the long walk from palking. Early birds should be allowed to park closer.

    RockFest 80's = Incredible

    by D1nr3 on 4/5/16Markham Park - Sunrise

What a great event 20 bands from the 80's who all had songs on the radio at one point in time! The highlight was definitely Tom Keifer who put on an amazing show. Night Ranger was not far behind because they still sound incredible. Sebastian Bach was too good to be on the West Stage and Paul Rodgers sounds like he is getting better with age. The only real disappointment was Ace Frehley who only played 3 Kiss songs and didn't sing Rock Soldiers.

The band's were amazing and the set up was perfect. There were so many booths and restrooms, which helped make it a great experience. I would 100% go if they have it again!!
