    Metallica killed it!

    by Booboo1986 on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Only thing I would have changed was korn not being pushed off the stage and them being about to finish their set. Would like to see assigned seats in the stadium so every one with a general admission pass could have some where to sit.

    Don't waste money on VIP

    by Kyrocker2017 on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

The bands were fine, but the venue has been outgrown. The VIP was huge disappointment. It was located in a swamp after the rains, the bathrooms were disgusting and the tented area was a sauna. Lockers were always rented out and the VIP gate entrance was closed.

Experience of a lifetime ROCK IN THE STADIUM!

    by Mountiansled1 on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

This is my first year to finally make it to the holy grail of rock concerts. Even with the weather I was Duly impressed. The fans from Ohio made the experience extra special for me coming from California. This is an awesome event and made even better being able to hang out in the parking lot with all our new found friends. AWESOME!! I will return.

worst festival I have ever been to

by Anonymous on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

I go to at least 6 festivals a year and this was by far the worst one I've ever been to. It's not that I'm blaming the rain or any of that because I sat out in it to see Metallica. One of the biggest flaws was their sound engineers were terrible!! A lot of the band's had such bad sound it wasn't worth watching. That's the main reason you go see a band, is to hear their songs! There were a handful of bands that did have good sound but for the most part no. The inability to seat everyone was terrible too. If the stadium holds so many people don't oversell to where people can't always have a place to sit or stand. We often were kicked out of aisles or told to move because all the seats were taken all the way up into the very top. Some of the good things they did such as signings were organized and done well, but it doesn't do much for me when the band that I met at the signing had terrible sound such as Taking Back Sunday. We had to start a chant for them to turn up the sound and actually be able to hear Adam. I have been to festivals all across the country and this was by far the worst one I have ever been to. I definitely will not be returning.

Good line up good music way too expensive

by Upsettttt on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

10 dollar beer is one thing, but when you aren't allowed to leave the stadium and you are charging 5 dollars for a bottle of water that's just insane. Unless you have VIP tickets the price isn't worth it.

    great show

    by robertg1979 on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Loved the mix this year of having some punk rock. Weather was a bit of an issue but the show went on with only a couple of delays. Great weekend of rock.

    Rock lovers unite!

by FangTNG on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Despite crappy weather, this event was not to be missed. Such enthusiasm from the bands, the fans and the atmosphere. We got to see some incredible acts and found some new bands to follow. We will definitely be back next year!

Rock on the Range. A story of many highs and lows.

by KennyOzz on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Look, you run the risk of many things when you go to a 3-day outdoor rock festival. And for the most part, this one is really really good. I believe this was year #11 and I have been to at least one day of it like 7-8 times. There is always a good, diverse lineup of bands. Something for everyone, really. But there are some glaring problems with the festival. 1. $25 to park, each day? Come on. Thats ridiculous. 2. Over-priced water and food. $5-$6 for a bottled water? 3. Ran out of shirt sizes 4 hours into the first day. Inexcusable. 4. Need to somehow create more shaded areas. Everyone is burnt. 5. Need more security. People urinating in cans and throwing them.

    Another great year!!!

    by RJD65 on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

I'm 52 years old, been to over one hundred concerts. This is the best venue I've attended a show. The line up of bands is always great. Some years have more of my favorite groups than other years, but the bands are always great. I've had the opportunity to see bands I hadn't seen before. $25 per day to park is crazy. It's already an expensive weekend, then add $75 for parking! I can swing it, but that's a killer for the younger folks. I'm getting too old to drink much beer at these events, but 10 bucks a can is nuts. I will go every year until the knees and feet give out!

    Weather delays

    by Brassman78 on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Rock on the Range was a great time. It was our 2nd time. Our 1st time was for Linkin Park in 2015 and then again for Metallica this year. 2015 the weather was just about perfect. There was a brief rain delay and then the bands played on. This year Mother Nature had plans of her own and she decided to let it rain down on ROTR! The safety measures taken were a necessity, however, for those few like ourselves who don't participate in any social media outlets, I feel we were a little less informed as to delays and restarts an email or text from the ROTR hosts would have been greatly appreciated. They were evacuating the stadium night 1 due to a storm and the announcement said to leave and seek shelter in your vehicle. We took a shuttle to the venue and had no vehicle so we high tailed it to the gas station drop off and pick up spot for our shuttle and returned to our hotel, showered and went out to dinner only to find out later on that there was a building behind the stadium that we could have sought refuge in until the storm passed. We also learned that the show restarted without us, needless to say we were extremely disappointed.

A great event despite the weathers best efforts

by BartLanz on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Rock on the Range 2017 was three day rock festival with great bands, a wide selection of food and an excellent venue. The sound was loud as it should be and the bands rocked it! Field access is a must in my opinion as the stadium seats while they are sitting just don't give you the full effect. There are also a fair number of vendors at this event. Most have some kind of fun game or something special they are doing. These are a must do as you can score some cool swag and get entered into special promotions. I also recommend checking out the Kickoff party, that was a rocking good time as well! I would like to see them offer more camping packages (this is really limited by the venue though), as well as the ability to upgrade my tickets on a camping package to VIP. Also where they are using electronic tickets now, Why not let people enter and exit the venue during the event. At least at one gate? I feel that not letting people exit and re-enter is a money grab to force people into the food vendors on premise. Speaking of... The food at this event was surprisingly good! There was a BBQ place that had an awesome brisket! Make sure they come back!!!

    Ticket price is a value!

    by WesT01 on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Lots of rock bands.40 plus in a 3 day period. The more popular bands play on the mains stage. The very popular bands are the headliners and that have longer to peform. Consesions are pretty high priced. As to be expected.

Second time is not the charm

    by Jaybird1979 on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Awful. Complete mismanagement. I understand the weather can't be helped but a rain or shine show with sets cancelled, doors held, told to go back to our vehicles? Poor drainage.

ROTR rocked my shoes off (LITERALLY)

    by metalblazert30 on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Yea, one of my shoes did come off in one of the mosh pits, but the whole event was fantastic as far as I'm concerned. Great bands played there, and it was a complete blast. There was some weather-related delays, which was a bit of a bummer, but the staff handled it very well despite complaints from the concert-goers. Also, the staff was very good about returning to me the flip phone I'd lost during the Korn set. Overall, it was lit, and would go again!

Another great year at the Range

by DasDanko on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Other than a bit of miscommunications about the weather evacuations, it was another fantastic year at the Range.
