    End of a Tradition

    by Burritobob27 on 5/30/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

We have gone to Rock on the Range for several years, and though I get that the venue needed closed for the weather it was done in such a poor and disorganized manner I felt it was very unprofessional. My biggest issue is Friday when they first closed due to severe weather they closed the venue with nothing more then an automated warning on repeat. both myself, my friend and hundreds of people around us didnt leave the stadium because at first we thought it was a joke we also didn't leave because we didnt know if we could get back in or why we were really being forced to leave. all it would have taken was for 1 person to come over the speakers and give us a quick update, let us know we could get back in later and we would have left. I also understand giving people time to get to their cars but being let out 2 hours prior to a storm in a rain or shine even is crazy.

    Cornell tribute was weak

    by Letdown3 on 5/29/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

While there definitely were highlights: Papa Roach, Metallica, Amon Amarth, and DeafHeaven, the Cornell tribute was incredibly lame. Hats off to the 2 members of StoneSour who took the stage for 2 songs - that was nice, but everyone was hoping to see a collage of artists give tribute. It would've been great to see these artists show us their musical talents in a raw, unscripted, ad-hoc jam session in tribute to Cornell; instead, we were given YouTube videos watch on the big screens. Overall, the experience was a bit of let-down. SOrry it took the edge of some great performances.

Metallica rocks even in the rain!!!

    by LadyHawke351 on 5/28/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Had an amazing time at Rock on the Range! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We mainly were there to see Metallica and we were not disappointed. Of all of the bands that played Metallica was the only one that didn't stop their set because of the rain.

Best Rock Concert in the U.S.

    by DM45242 on 5/27/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Despite severe weather delays, the promoters were able to work with the city to extend the curfew and get all of the bands in. Year after year, Rock on the Range shows why they are the best Rock concert in America. 40,000 people per day, and the stadium is still easily accessible and move around in. Every year they bring in incredible lineups. Metallica and Korn were both at their best this year, but no band had a bad set. And when Chris Cornell died a day before and Soundgarden cancelled, instead of trying to replace them, they brought in Stone Sour to do a tribute to Chris. Our 4th ROTR in a row, and each year, they show why they are rock concert that all others in America aspire to be.

Other than the weather, which was less than friendly, everything was great! Met some super cool people and had a great time.

    Chris Cornell tribute, Korn, Metallica.!

    by Blueneck600 on 5/25/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Awesome bands were lined up for the event. The tribute to Chris Cornell last minute was truly heartfelt. Cons: Once you're there, you're there. Most festivals let you come and go, but this place keeps you there with no reentry till the next day. Then the vendors (beer guys) raise the beer prices on the stadium floor because they know you wont leave to lose your spot! Prices started at $10-16oz can.

Despite a few setbacks, ROTR was great!

    by JimiVoodoo314 on 5/25/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

The death of Chris Cornell and endless rain delays would have destroyed all hopes of a good time this past weekend; but I gotta hand it to the ROTR staff, I still fell like I got my money's worth! Security was a little more lax than I would like to see, considering the tragic event in Manchester, England only a day after ROTR - kinda scary! But the ROTR team was good at communicating via Twitter, radio, and Facebook to let us know the rain situation so we could plan our days accordingly. Next time, let us wait out the storm every day instead of just Sunday - instead of kicking us out! The only time I saw lightning was the one time we were not evacuated - LOL. Overall, the bands were amazing, and the crowd was on way better behavior than last year. Keep up the good work! Can't wait to return next year!

Metallica and papa roach on point

by SquirrelKTMRacer on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Literally I have seen Seether and papa roach a dozen times, and this was their best performance. Not to mention Korn and Metallica. They put on an epic show. Metallica is the kings of rock and roll and I will never forget their awesome, hair raising performance at Mapfre Stadium.

Even though there was rain and evacuation's basically all 3 days it was still an amazing event. The tribute to Chris Cornell was very well done. And Metallica closed the house down. We had a hour or so wait in the rain and lightning for Metallica but it was worth it.

    Great

by kliffy on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

Great show but need to allow in and out access for those that have weekend passes. Don't hold us hostage. For that reason I will probably choose to go back to Rocklahoma next year. Great job handling the Chris Cornell loss.

    great weekend,

    by neff1 on 5/24/17MAPFRE Stadium - Columbus

the flow of music was consistently great and flawless.... only sad thing was Chris Conrnell death which meant Soundgarten was not fridays closer, they had a tribute that was tasteful. Friday in afternoon we were evacuated for a storm. Saturday Korn was cut short because of lightening storm coming. I don't know when it started but they evacuate stadiums because of lightening possible storms.... in the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's rock concerts just played on.... if anyone reads the tickets "venue is not responsible for accidents or acts of god". As a old boss told me you will not melt, just float from rain.
