ROCK OF AGES on Tour

Tenth Anniversary Tour

Book by Chris D’Arienzo

Arrangements and Orchestrations by Ethan Popp

Broadway’s Best Party is turning up the volume to ten! The ROCK OF AGES Tenth Anniversary Tour is blazing across North America!

Nominated for five Tony Awards®, including Best Musical, ROCK OF AGES captures the iconic era that was the big bad 1980s Hollywood. Know What Love Is, Feel the Noise, and Take Your Best Shot at one of the Sunset Strip’s last epic venues, a place where the legendary Stacee Jaxx returns to the stage and rock-n-roll dreamers line up to turn their fantasies into reality.

Featuring the music of hit bands such as Styx, Poison, Twisted Sister, and Whitesnake among many others, this Tenth Anniversary production features a dynamic new cast revisiting the larger than life characters and exhilarating story that turned ROCK OF AGES into a global phenomenon.

This is one for the ages that will have you singing “Here I Go Again.”

“Absurdly enjoyable! About as guilty as pleasures get!” - The New York Times

“ROCK OF AGES is the power-ballad decade in all its glory, tricked out with big perms, bigger dreams, and the kind of operatic ecstasy you read about only in bathroom stalls.” - Entertainment Weekly

“Insanely fun! Rock and comedy in perfect proportion!” - Time Out New York

    Awesome!

by RST99 on 10/12/09Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

We came from Boston to NY to see this. The show was awesome! What a blast from the past! Our group grew up mostly in the 80's so we knew each and every song that was sung! Definitely would recommend it. Can't wait for it to come to Boston to see it again. Rock On!

    GREAT SHOW

by MARYNN on 10/12/09Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

I really enjoyed the show. The songs were great and really brought back some memories. The cast was also amazing. The only negative I would say is that our seats were on the right side (row b of the front mezz) and we could not see the whole stage. To be honest for $135, I expect to see the whole stage. I wish I knew that before I purchased those seats. Great Friday night show to go to.

    Slow Start Great Finish

by dyzee on 10/12/09Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

Starts out sleazy and slow. The teachers who brought their middle school kids should have seen the show first before bringing the kids., as should have the parents who brought their 8 and 10 year old chidren. My daughter wanted to leave during intermission but we stayed and were glad we did. More upbeat and lively. The cast was very talented . Great finale. You don't come to see this for the deep personal insight. The music is the thing. The pot smoke was getting to me though. Would I recommend this to my friends?. No because the show didn't warrent the ticket price.

    Rock of Ages

by Pink15 on 10/12/09Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

I purchased these tickets for my daughter (23) and her friend. My daughter is not a "play" person, but she loved this one. She didn't have a bad thing to say about it. She enjoyed it thoroughly and so did her friend.

    Rock of ages was enjoyable!

by reviewguy111 on 10/12/09Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

The show was very silly in a fun way. You're really there for the music as every performer had an outstanding voice which really made the music that much better. Having a rock band on stage at all times was really clever and lended itself to the whole experience. I would caution anyone thinking about bringing children as there is "80s" language and very risque/sexual references throughout. Go and enjoy the music while you laugh at the silly storyline, yet very funny in the way it is presented.

    Great show!

by Wesnile on 10/11/09Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

Awesome show. If you are into the 80's hairband scene you'll really appreciate the show. If you're not you'll still love it. Not for kids under 16 as its a bit risque with some real funny adult one-liners.

    Rock of Ages Was Awesome!!

by luvkim on 10/11/09Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

From the very moment you set foot in the theatre its like you were back in 80s. The stage set was incredible. Old guitars & band pictures of Poison, Motley Crue, Lita Ford, etc, hanging on the wall. The bar on the right side of the stage was cool, it looked like an old club bar. It was loaded with all the alcohol bottles you could think of. The music that was playing before the play started brought back lots of memories. We had the best seats row A, seats 2&4 on the right side of the stage. Up front were you could see all the action. The story line was very entertaining. The clothing the actors wore was typical 80s club clothes. I loved all the characters. Lonny (Mitchell Jarvis) was very cool. But my all time favorite was Drew (Constantine Maroulis). He's the main reason why I got the tickets. He has a great voice. They all do. I will definitely recommend this show to my friends. After the show was over, we stood and waited for the cast to come out. I got all their autographs. I took pictures with Sherry (Kerry Butler), Drew (Constantine) & Justice (Michele Mais). We plan to see it again, it was that good!!

The music and singers were unbelievable! And I thought the way they integrated the music into the storyline was very clever. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

    Better comedy than musical

by Shoobie on 10/11/09Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

Rock of Ages was very funny but not a very good tribute to hard rocking music. Tha being said, it was REALLY FUNNY! I was surprised at how much I laughed and how mature the humor was. I was expecting the immature stuff, like the slapstick and homophobic humor, but I wasn't expecting the self-referencing stuff. The problem with the music was that they don't play any complete songs and they shoe-horned the songs into stupid plot moments.
