by Pitstop48 on 11/7/11Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New OrleansExcellent Show for all those who love 80's Music. Found myself singing right along with the music. Male Role Character of Drew did a wonderful job. Didn't realize he came straight from a rock band, definately mulit-talented. Narrator kept everyone laughing the entire time. One caution, foul language is used and I did not feel that the play was appropriate for young children. Teens and up who appreciate music and slap shot will enjoy.

by ROROSMITH on 11/6/11Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New OrleansI HAD SEEN THE ORIGINAL PLAY IN NEW YORK AND LOVED IT. MY FRIEND WANTED TO SEE IT SO I WENT WITH HER BECAUSE I REALLY ENJOYED IT. I WAS WITH MY HUSBAND AND MY FRIEND'S HUSBAND. WE THOUGHT THE CAST WAS EXCELLENT, JUST AS GOOD AS NEW YORK CAST. LOVED THE MUSIC AND THE ACTING. GREAT PLAY. FUN, MAKES YOU HAPPY. ENJOYED THE PLAY EXCEPT FOR THE SOUND. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO HEAR THE CAST SPEAKING. COULD NOT UNDERSTAND THEM. NOT SURE IF IT WAS THE ACOUSTICS OR WHAT. NOT SURE IF IT WAS BECAUSE WE WERE UPSTAIRS? VERY DISAPPOINTING AND FRUSTRATING.

by JamieH6778 on 11/6/11Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New OrleansI bought tickets for my husband for his birthday. He's not usually a "broadway" type of guy but he loves old rock music and had seen Sweeney Todd on a business trip and enjoyed it. I've been waiting for the right production to come along and when I saw this advertised, I knew this was it. We went with another couple and all 4 of us had a great time. Its such a fun and energetic show, you just want to stand up and sing / dance along. The entire crowd seemed to feel the same way. We would all definitely see it again!

Rating: 4 out of 5by Nicola428 on 11/5/11Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New Orleans Rock of Ages was really fun! The show was lighthearted and had a sense of humor. It walked the fine line between a nostalgic show about the 80's and making fun of some of the decade's more interesting moments. I highly recommend the show.

by BeanLady on 11/5/11Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New OrleansVery lively, colorful show. Great use of music to advance the story line. The video background was often funny, but very in tune to the action on the stage. Great use of multimedia.

by Spurg on 11/5/11Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New OrleansSimply AWESOME show! The music was phenomenal! Loved every minute of the show! If Jack Black doesn't play the part of Lonny in the movie version the producers are doing a great disservice to the audience.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Rock of Ages= great show!
by nicolenick on 11/4/11Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New OrleansReally good show with amazing music! Act 1 was a little slow, but Act 2 definitely made up for it. It was definitely interesting to hear my favorite 80's hits being sung by an ensemble, but it made me look at them a whole new way, and I completely enjoyed rocking out in the balcony!
