Propulsive high energy show.

I've seen them on TV a couple of times, and on you tube, but this was my first experience of the band live. They took the stage following a very strong opening set by The Constellations, who were tight, bouncy, and fun. Once Robert sat down at his sacred steel I felt the energy in the house go up about 10%. The band soared into their opening cut and it simply did not stop from there. Not for over an hour and a half. The bass player was in the pocket the entire night and the rapport between he and RR was obvious and led to some very crunchy moments in the show. Recognized covers of Thriller and Bowie's "Let's Dance." Both of which set the place on fire. I love the pedal steel and what it is capable of, whether its country or rock and roll. This man is a master and gets sounds out of it that are amazing. It was like seeing Duane Allman at his hottest. This is how Jimi would have sounded playing pedal steel. Or Stevie Ray. WOW!!!! This show made me high.

He didn't come out until almost 10:30, and the first few songs he did all sounded the same, like he was playing the same rif over and over. He has a lovely lady that has a terrific voice that he hides back in the corner. She needs to be out front and sing way more songs. I left half way through the show.
