The musicianship was awesome, especially the drummer! However, the absence of live vocals was the missing piece to bring the experience together. The vocals was substituted with one of the band members using a vocal box for all of the sets, except when Algebra, a local artist and not even featured on any of his albums, to perform "Calls" by Jill Scott. Algebra is talented, but anyone who lives in Atlanta can hear her. She was definitely better than any voice box however. To listen to vocals, for every song, through a voice box, is absolutely an annoyance, and lacks vocal skill and talent. Overall, Robert Glasper is a talented pianist/keyboardist and has great ear for music. However, what creates the Robert Glasper Experiment, is the band (Experiment) and the featured artists on every song of the Black Radio compilation. There is no Robert Glasper without the featured artists.
