This was an amazing performance. Robert Davi (yes, the same guy that plays "bad guys" in movies) was outstanding. His voice is incredible and he has great showmanship. I actually felt I was back in the "golden days" of Vegas with the likes of Frank, Dean, and Sammy. Robert Davi is the real deal!! I already bought the album.
Davi was amazing! Great voice. The venu was HORRIBLE!! I will never return to Soboba!
I was completely blown away by Robert Davi's renditions from the Great American Songbook. Those who know him only as an actor are missing out on one of the best kept secrets in entertainment - he's even better as a singer. Davi pays loving tribute to Sinatra while making the songs his own, inviting and ultimately earning comparison with one of the greatest entertainers that ever lived. I have rarely been as entertained or as moved by a singer as I was by Robert Davi singing Sinatra.
Vegas entertainment as it should be! What a voice!
I was never fortunate enough to see Frank Sinatra but I was lucky enough to see Robert Davi. No only was he a marvelous singer but he was well dressed, incredibly charming and handsome....he was the ultimate example of class. Frank Sinatra would be proud of the way he sang his tribute. His voice was wonderful. After the event we met him and he is absolutly the most charming man. We tried to see him 2 more times but he was sold out. Keep singing and acting Robert!!! you are awsome.
Awesome show, this guy can sing. The band and the setting were incredible.
This was the best show we have seen in a while. He has a beautiful voice. Had to rush out to buy cd.
Not an impression but impressive. An astute interpretation of the master. Dave sang with love and grace. He truely gets who Sinatra was. Also enjoyed the reparte betwen songs.
Performance started over 35 minutes late. It was boring sititng there watching nothing. Creates a real problem when you have someone watching your kids so you can enjoy a long awaited date nignt with your spouse. Performance was enjoyable, but the time thing put a downer on the whole evening.
Robert Davi wowed the audience with his amazing voice and his love for Sinatra and the great American Song book. He romanced us, brought us down memory lane, taught us about Sinatra and his somgs and made us all proud to be Americans in a tribute to the armed forces. The 55-piece orchestra was incredible. It was truly a beautiful evening.
I certainly enjoyed the Robert Davi Sings Sinatra performance. He sings so well!! He is a fine actor and puts on a good show. So many of the current "star attractions" sing only mediocre. Davi SINGS great!!
It started out great, strong voice, great orchester but then it was downhill all the way! The fellow basically needed more practice as he wobbled a bit at the end of many notes...and the big problem is HE TALKED TOO MUCH! He thanked everyone plus his mother. The "down memory lane" stuff was good but the personal stuff was a drag...and he sang from America's song book...which I didn't catch the significants of. The meant lots of songs I had never heard before and not enough of Sinatra favorites. We wanted to leave early but for the sake of the price of the tickets we stayed. I will say the venue in Thousands Oaks at the Civic Center has great accoustics and the 55 piece orchestra was brillant. Next time I will think twice before I buy tickets, in general...
I had the fortune of seeing Frank Sinatra Jr some time ago, so this show was a real treat. Mr Davi did a very good job of singing ol' blue eye's songs. Mr Davi had a 55 piece orchestra, which truly enhanced the experience. They were very well rehearsed, and professional. I look forward to purchasing the upcoming album, "Davi Sings Sinatra" later this year. If you are a Sinatra fan, or a fan of big band music, I highly recommend this show,
Started 45 minuets late. He didn't seem prepaired. The band was good.
Robert Davi has a very powerful stage presence. His interpretation of Sinatra’s style is excellent. He did Frank proud. Robert’s association with the many people in Frank’s life made the evening authentic; glad that many of these people were in the audience and on stage. I am so great full not to have missed this opportunity.
Outstanding show! Started late (30 min) due to large crowd in attendence, but it was worth the wait. No one complained once the show started. Ended with an appropriate remembrance of the tragedy in Tucson, Az..
This production shows a lot of care to detail--especially body language. This is one of the best events I have seen in a long time. He looked like Sinatra, his voice timbre hit Sinatra's right-on lots of times--if you closed your eyes, you'd think it was Frank. The set was very simple, and it was a 55-piece orchestra and Davi--that was all. And, believe me, it was enough! Bravo!!!
Great show. Robert was fantastic and the Orchestra was great.
As a Sinatra fan, it would be easy to find small flaws in Davi's singing (occasionally flat, e.g.), the apparant lack of preparation that caused the show to start late and an obvious lack of communication between singer and conductor. Overall, however, once I learned the real reason for Davi's passion - to keep this music alive - all was forgiven. Great set, timeless songs, excellent band. I would like to have seen the band members given more opportunity for solo performances. The few solos perfomed were almost lost, however, as the sound crew was not able to keep up wth the sound cues.
