    transition between illusions was terrible

by Kevin Sydnor on 12/30/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The technical problems affected that transition between illusions along with stage sets that were not ready, cameras that didn't work made the performance not worth the investment.

    Rob Lake

by David on 12/30/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

We've had a great time at The Music Hall in The Park. Ticketmaster made it happened by being able to order and receive our tickets in an instant. Rob Lake show was one of a kind. We thank you both for your help and time.

    amateur hour

by mvs on 12/30/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

Our entire group felt as if we were at amateur hour. The show started over 30 minutes late. He kept on saying he was under the weather. Has he heard that you're not supposed to reveal that? Then it just went down hill. Tons of technical difficulties. Sure he had some good tricks, but there was so much interruption that it wasn't smooth running. Would not recommend or go back.

    Rob Lake Needs Work

by DB on 12/30/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

Show was kind of lame. Many errors in the show, including starting 30 minutes late. Still wondering what happened with the random numbers picked by the crowd and why never incorporated into the show later on. Assume another mishap. Some parts of the show were really good though.

Rob was not late and not prepared

by Bryan on 12/30/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

Rob started half an hour late, his camera and some of his magic equipment and devices didn’t work properly, and he didn’t complete at least one of his major tricks (where he had several members of his audience give a number from 1-50). It was the least professional magic show I have ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot.

    Too many technical difficulties

by JC on 12/30/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

I was a bit disappointed. The illusions were great but there were too many tech difficulties. First of all, the show started late. At some point the camera stopped working people sitting in the middle back couldn't see very well the trick with the rings. One of the illusion setting had to be reset also which took some time. Finally, Rob spent anywhere from 10 to 15 mins choosing people at random and picking numbers for an end of the show trick that never happened. I am guessing again the tech problems threw everything off track.

    Disappointing Show

by First Review on 12/30/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The show started 30 minutes late. There were also a number of technical delays during the show. The entertainer set up an illusion by asking the audience for five or six numbers between 1 and 50. He promised to reveal the illusion at the end of the show. But when the show ended it appeared to us that he forgot to reveal the promised illusion. This was definitely the most disappointing show I have every attended. It was not worth the price of admission.

    Mediocre at best

by B-Dub on 12/30/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

Rob Lake had several difficulties with the equipment that made it easy to understand the illusions. He also had to tell stories during the show, as his supporting crew were slow to get the equipment ready behind the curtains. The show also started about 30 minutes late. He apologized for that, so I can forgive that. Overall, our group of four agreed we felt as if we had just attended a high school talent show magician act and believed he is not quiet ready for prime time. Maybe 5-10 more years of practice? We would have been ok with paying $10 for the show as it seemed raw and unpracticed. I truly believe the illusions are difficult feats, so I give a lot of credit for trying. There were two illusions that went very well and amazed me. The others, not so much. The female dancers' / supporting crew were also mediocre at best. For pricing tickets in the $100 range, I expected a much better, well-polished experience.

    Sadly Disappointed

by HelenB on 12/30/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The show started 30 minutes late and it went downhill from there. Followed by his crew not setting up the stage prop in time for the show to flow smoothly. His lack of details made the magic look amateur and failed to amaze. For example, the video that was suppose to be a “ live” feed from the lobby of him would have worked except he was wearing a different color shirt ! Would not recommend the show!

Had a rough start but got better. Audience engagement good

by Kimmie-b on 12/30/19Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

Guessing he’s got to practice on someone?! His crew was great, his tricks need improving.

    Blinding lights

    by M. on 12/28/19

The lights before the show started were AWFUL, dozens of people sitting there waiting for the show to start with their hands over their eyes. I was one of them. Try not pointing those things INTO the audience.

    Felt kinda bad for him

    by M. on 12/28/19

Maybe it was the venue but he struggled last night. He mentioned at the beginning of the show that he wasn't feeling well, so we felt bad for him, but he had multiple issues during the show. At one point the camera stopped working for a trick that really needed the camera, he did something with numbers on a piece of paper but never finished it, sent the guy back to his seat with the numbers, we never found out what that was all about 🤷🏼‍♀️There were some prop malfunctions which caused delays, all in all the illusions were pretty fascinating but the delivery could use some work.

    Best part of our trip

    by CanadianSummer17 on 11/6/17Lake Tahoe

We would give this show 20 stars (out of 5) if we could! After trouble finding the ticket office in the casino we were happy to get good seats. We have seen a lot of shows both on tour near our home in Canada, and in our frequent trips to Las Vegas. This was our first time to Lake Tahoe - and by far the best show we have ever seen in a casino! Absolutely the best magic show. We had no idea to expect this show being so big. The sets were incredible and the illusions amazing. My wife got picked for a trick and can't figure it out. The final illusion was incredible and we are still scratching our heads. Anywhere you can see Mr Rob Lake and his amazing show!

    Rob Lake: Inept

by NickinCA on 8/27/17South Shore Room at Harrah's Lake Tahoe - Stateline

I didn't like the fact that he repeated the same illusion twice, TWICE (woman contorted into a prop & prepared paper introduced on top of a prop). I didn't like the fact that he did an introductory-level illusion with a prop he sold after the show. One of his props malfunctioned (no biggy, it happens) and he just closed the curtain and moved on without any acknowledgement to the audience. His finishes to his illusions were sad and clumsy. He just stuck his chest out. More than once, he had to ask for applause because the audience didn't know when to clap---they didn't know if the illusion was over. He even did the vanishing motorcycle illusion exactly the way the Masked Magician revealed on TV.

    Worthwhile Majiic Show

by HelloMike on 8/19/17South Shore Room at Harrah's Lake Tahoe - Stateline

We had never heard of Rob Lake and decided to see the show just as something to do while in Tahoe. Surprise! He was excellent. A good stage personality. Some humor. While not a David Copperfield, his magic in some ways is similar to the Copperfield show in Vegas. Very good value for the quite reasonable ticket prices and a good evening's entertainment.

by skiheavenlydude on 8/17/17South Shore Room at Harrah's Lake Tahoe - Stateline

Rob Lake puts on a good show. It is worth seeing classic illusions performed well, and then some new ones too! close seating and all good views
