Riverdance began its journey as the interval act in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, produced for television by Moya Doherty. This electrifying and innovative seven minute dance piece was then developed into a full-length stage show by Producer Moya Doherty, Composer Bill Whelan and Director John McColgan. With its fusion of Irish and International music and dance, the show broke all box office records during its world première run in Dublin in early 1995. When the show transferred to London the reaction was unprecedented. There followed a hugely successful tour starting in New York in March 1996, where 8 sold-out shows at Radio City Music Hall heralded the start of two decades of touring by Riverdance companies throughout North America. Since its inception Riverdance has packed theatres throughout North America, Oceania, Asia, Europe, South Africa and South America.
This was my first Riverdance experience, but after seeing it, I went back and had watched some of the original on YouTube. It seemed to be just like the original. The dancers were amazing and all of the performers were very talented.

The show was excellent. We enjoyed all the dancing.
This was a feast for your ears, eyes, & mind. First, the music & tapping were powerful. Second, the dancing was almost hard to believe humans can perform like this for so long. Their feet moved faster than you could follow and they almost floated above the stage as they danced. The set was simple, but helped tell the story. Overall, a wonderful night at the theater!!
A great performance by a wonderful cast. Totally enjoyed it. Exhausted watching, great energy and presentation. A must see.
My daughter is getting married this month (Feb) and I wanted a mother/daughter day before she does. We have always wanted to see Riverdance and finally bought the tickets for the show. We had front row balcony seats which allowed us to see perfectly. The show was amazing. The diversity of each dance was terrific. We were blown away by the drummer. Not that she was a female, but by the the massive amount of things she did with so many drums and instruments in her section. My daughter and I were mesmerized by her talent. My only dislike was that we could not make out the words to many of the songs as they were being sung. They sounded beautiful, but were very hard to understand. We had a wonderful time and are glad we finally got to see the show.

Well rehearsed although it could have done without the beginning video and launched into the performance. The Spanish dancer needs a costume to expose her feet, no one cared about her long dress. More narration and explanation about the history of Riverdance would have been helpful in between scenes.

What an incredible show! It’s a scaled down version of the original Riverdance- but the talent is still top notch. The symmetry of the Irish dancing and the stage sets that were hauntingly beautiful kept us all at the edge our seats. As much as I love Irish dancing, the Russian dancers had everyone enthralled as they performed their leaps and spins in a highly energetic arrangement. Don’t miss this!
Non-stop action with a variety of different amazing skills. Well worth it!
We saw Riverdance about 20 years ago and loved it. This production with the addition of video backgrounds is even better.
Loved the show! Dancing was spectacular! Scenery is breathtaking. More than just Irish Dance! Highly recommend!!
