RISE AGAINST IN CONCERT: DON'T MISS YOUR CHANCE TO SEE RISE AGAINST ON TOUR IN 2017

Chicago rockers Rise Against combine passionate political messages with no-holds-barred rock aggression.  At their live shows the band performs hard-hitting anthems like "Savior" and "Re-Education (Through Labor)” against a backdrop of swirling lights and bold visuals that perfectly complement their frenetic onstage energy. Front man Tim McIlrath cuts a commanding figure on stage, holding the crowd in the palm of his hand as he leads the band through salvos about everything from politics and the environment to animal rights and vegetarianism. Prepare to witness plenty of fans head banging and rocking out as the band tears through marathon sets of their forceful yet catchy-as-heck songs on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

After 16 years and six incendiary albums, Rise Against has become one of the most successful, challenging, and revered punk rock bands on the planet. Rise Against have sold four million albums globally across their last four releases, with 2011's Endgame debuting at No. 1 in Germany and Canada and No. 2 in the U.S. Their sixth album The Black Market was released in September 2014 via Interscope Records and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

    Rise Against w/Rancid

    by freestyle2025 on 7/7/09WaMu Theater - Seattle

The opening band was pretty dang good. Then came Rancid, if you like their kind of music I am sure they were good. However, they were just not on my top 10. I bought the tickets to get a good show from Rise Against. I got a great show from them! Loved the music and loved the show. I would recommend.

    Rise Against Rocks!!!

    by Eeyore440 on 7/7/09WaMu Theater - Seattle

This was an awesome show all the way around. I had never seen Billy Talant. Thought they roocked, they definately didn't suck!! And Rancid....What do you write about some of the founders of this style of music? They were incredible!! And Rise Against...Still rocking it, with a message! It was great to see them play old school stuff as well as new stuff. If you even remotely like Rise Against...run to see them. You won't be disappointed.

    Rancid still has it.

by Leda on 7/7/09WaMu Theater - Seattle

Show was great. Good set. Loved the video back drop of cars and pictures of the band. Wish they would have played more from the first album. But this is my 3rd time seeing them.

    Freakin Rancid

by BigMoney on 7/7/09WaMu Theater - Seattle

I know that rancid was technically one of the opening acts, but to me this show was always a rancid concert with rise against and billy talent playing at it too. Rancid is legendary and they sounded absolutely amazing. The pit was so much fun. I'm stoked to see rancid the next time they come to Seattle and scream Roots Radical at the top of my lungs all over again.

    Risa Against was Insane!!

by drumwrenn on 7/7/09WaMu Theater - Seattle

So @ the Wamu theater in Seattle is a great place to see a show. The sound is usually pretty good there, they have he seats far enough back but still close enough to the stage that people who just want to sit and watch can, while the rest of us have plenty of space to stand, jump up and down, and occasionally mosh. Billy Talent (Who I had never heard of) from Toronto were really good, and it turns out I actually knew 2 of their songs, even though I didn't know who they were. Great opener. Rancid was solid, and even inspired me to get in the pit a couple times. Towards the end of their set though, it seemed like the energy may have dropped a little. Then came Rise Against... They were incredible! I had high expectations and they did not disappoint. Song after song, done perfectly. Lots of energy. Even though I was standing towards the side of the stage (great view, just deaf in one ear now) where some of the people were just standing around, they had me pumping my fist in the air and jumping up and down like I was in the mob in the middle. During Hero of War, a song I didn't like until this show, you coud feel the emotion as they played it. It as very cool. Dancing for Rain was done so well with the intro being played slowly at first on piano that I was blown away. They didn't play Life Less Frightening or Injection, but most of my other favorites were played and played perfectly. They were so tight, that they added change ups and extended break downs most likely to let everyone know that they were not playing along with their record. This show would get 5 stars were it not for the fact that the time between Rancid and Rise Against was WAY too long, and the loss of energy during Rancid's set preceding the break anyway.

Rise Against ever seeing them again!

    by justin1359 on 7/7/09WaMu Theater - Seattle

The sound quality of Rise Against was so terrible and far too loud. It sounded like a muddled mess and songs were completely urecognizable. The melodic punk and the strong vocals that make Rise Against a decent act were not there at all. MAJOR disappointment. The only thing that saved it was Rancid. They've still got it and put on a hell of a show and sounded 1,000 times better than RA.

    Rise Against/Rancid

by lynzmaria on 7/7/09WaMu Theater - Seattle

Show was awesome! I love Rise against and I had listened to Rancid back in high school and never got to see them then so it was great to see them, they still rock! Billy Talent is a really great punk band also, if you haven't heard them before check them out, they're almost as good as the other two,

    Finally!

by Fuzz on 7/7/09WaMu Theater - Seattle

Rise against finally made it back to Seattle! Billy Talent rocked pretty good, what can you say about Rancid. It felt great to be able to see them in such a great venue. They are still one of the most important bands to ever play and still have every ounce of energy they have always had. Rise Against knocked it out of the park. I think that they put on one of the best shows that i've ever been to. Start to finish, a perfect blend of like minded people, audience and band who gave it all and had a blast doing it.

    Not too shabby

by ZombieGhostTrain on 7/7/09WaMu Theater - Seattle

Though Rise Against was the head liner Rancid stole the show like always. Billy Talent was a fantastic opener with a lot of energy and got the crowd moving. Rise Against wasn't awesome in my opinion, but then again I've never really been a fan of theirs.

    Rise Against is the tits!

by Jenkitron on 7/7/09WaMu Theater - Seattle

I love billy talent, rancid and rise against. I heard from a friend in Wisconsin that Rancid sucked and it was all new stuff but at the Seattle show they played plenty of old stuff and a ton of songs from And Out Come The Wolves. Way awesome. But their new stuff still sucks.. Rise Against was so incredible. There were 2 pits going on at once and the whole crowd up front was awesome. 98% percent of the people there were awesome. You will always have a few jerks in there. But it was super awesome. Rise against played an incredible show. SO good.

    Amazing

by RAYERAYE on 7/7/09WaMu Theater - Seattle

This concert was amazing; I love Rise Against they are my favorite band and I was so excited to see them live. I don't even know how to describe it. My husband has never been to a concert in his life so when we went he was like a kid in a candy store. The building wasn't too crowdy and there was plenty of parking. I had a lot of fun and I will never forget that night.

    Rancid and Rise Against Rocked

by rancidpunk on 7/7/09WaMu Theater - Seattle

I wish this tour had come to Portland, but other than that it was amazing. Billy Talent was alright. Some people were really into them. I didn't really know their stuff. Rancid and Rise Against are in my top 5 favorites though. I thought I was getting to old for the pit, but I couldn't resist for the Rancid set. Much fun singing along and dancing in circles. I wasn't super stoked on the Rancid setlist. They didn't do some of my favorites, but I was still singing along to every one. Rise Against played a lot of new stuff with one or two off each of the older albums. Really good and lots of energy.
