About

Ringo Starr on Tour

In 1989, the world's favorite Liverpudlian singer and drummer put together a new kind of touring band that would redefine his solo career as well as make major inroads in the classic rock realm. That was the year Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band played their first tour, with the former Beatle backed by a band full of rock stars in their own right, each taking their own turns in the spotlight to perform their biggest tunes when they weren't busy supporting Ringo. He's kept the band going ever since, and over the years it has included the likes of Joe Walsh, Dr. John, Billy Preston, Peter Frampton, Greg Lake, Sheila E., Billy Squier and Edgar Winter. Not that hearing Ringo perform his solo hits and his tunes from the Fab Four years isn't compelling on its own, but getting a constantly shifting batch of classic rock hits delivered by their originators is an undeniably attractive bonus.

Ringo Starr in Concert

As great a drummer as Ringo Starr is, he was always something more. From the very first Beatles album in 1963, Ringo made it clear that his homespun vocal style and personal charm could come across on record as clearly as his drumming. During his world-changing tenure with The Beatles, he sang lead on some of their most beloved songs, including "With a Little Help From My Friends," "Yellow Submarine" and "Octopus's Garden." Ringo's gift carried over to his solo career too, and in the 1970s he enjoyed a long string of huge solo hits, including "It Don't Come Easy," "Photograph," "You're Sixteen" and "No No Song." Though Ringo also maintained an occasional sideline acting in films and had a run on children's TV shows in the 1980s, he never stopped turning out new material. And when he hit upon the idea of an ever-changing all-star backing band for his tours, including a shifting selection of rock legends singing their own hits as well as backing the boss, Ringo brought a whole new slant to his solo career.

    Great Show

by ChicagoRich on 7/10/12The Venue at Horseshoe Casino - Hammond

I wanted to see one of the Beatles in a live performance, but didn't know what to expect. Ringo did many of his big hits and sounded good, as expected. But the other musicians, playing hits from their former bands was unexpected and sounded fantastic. They were all great in their own respects, but I especially liked the drummer and sax player. I had a fun time with a fun crowd, listening to some classic rock performed by some very talented musicians!

    Ringo Rocks!!!

by UncBuck44 on 7/10/12The Venue at Horseshoe Casino - Hammond

The concert was terrific, and I was very impressed by "The Venue." Ringo still has it, and everyone seemed to enjoy the show. This was mt first concert at the Horseshoe, and I look forward to more. The seats were comfortable, the sound was clean, and the line of sight was excellent. One complaint - it took us an hour to get out of the parking lot due to traffic congestion after the show.

    Ringo rocks!

by jpgrfan on 7/10/12The Venue at Horseshoe Casino - Hammond

What a great concert. The Venue itself is a nice size theatre, not too big with good sound and good seating. Ringo's All Star Band were all talents in their own right and they were on fire (to quote the band). They seem to be having a great time and the audience benefited from it. I would check it out again!

    Another Fantastic All-Star show

by Stufff on 7/10/12The Venue at Horseshoe Casino - Hammond

Ringo puts together a great line-up every time he tours. This was no exception. His shows are fun and energetic, and reminiscent of many great old tunes we all know and love. In addition to the Ringo faves, this show included hits from Santana, Todd Rundgren, Toto and Mr. Mister. Love ya Ringo!!

    Ringo Starr

by CindyAndy on 7/10/12The Venue at Horseshoe Casino - Hammond

This was by far the best concert I have ever been to! Mr. Starr was wonderful - just as you would expect. His new song Anthem was sung and has me motivated to by his newest CD. The rest of the artists were awesome too! You could see that they all liked what they were doing, and it was expressed through their music. You couldn't help but want to get up and move and dance to the great music. I can't wait for the next concert! Thank you Mr. Starr for putting on such a wonderful show!! You are the best!!!!!!!

    Ringo and his All-Starr Band

by bblsbb on 7/10/12The Venue at Horseshoe Casino - Hammond

The evening was tremendous! First you have a former Beatle and mix that up with musicians from Santana, Toto, Mr. Mister and add Ringo's special friends, Todd, Mark & Greg and you get a powerhouse of music. I wish Todd would have performed "Hello It's Me" but everything else was performed to perfection!

Best show I've ever been too! My favorite part was when he brought up someone from the audience and gave them a hug and let them dance with him! Littlle did I know I would be picked! I was so happy and excited! :) The performing was great, but they need more of just Ringo performing! :)

Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band equals AMAZING!

by ebbette on 11/30/10Beau Rivae Casino and Hotel - Biloxi

Ringo was great - any time you see a Beatle is great but to have Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer, and Gary Wright as part of his All Starr Band was simply incredible! Edgar Winter's album "They Only Come Out At Night" was one of my groups all time favorites in college in 1973 and to get the chance to see Edgar and Rick again was awesome! Love ALL Ringo sang and ending with the whole band and audience singing together "All we are saying is give peace a chance" was awe-inspiring. Also having the singers from The Romantics and Mister, Mister was great as well - it was like 5 concerts in one especially when Rick sang "Hang On, Sloopy"... That took me wayyyyyyyy back!
