I suppose that the problem was that I went into the circus with high expectations. It is after all, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey. The greatest show on earth. When we vsited the website for Illusicination beforehand we left with the impression that David DaVinci would be doing magic with his arsenal of birds for the entire circus (at most we saw two or three birds.) This was not the case. In fact, he did not do more than one or two tricks that didn't seem obvious and only a total of maybe four "illusions" throughout the entire show. Moreover, the website flaunts the RARE WHITE LION which was shockingly absent. And the "lion tamer" did little more than make these big cats lay on the ground and get back up on the stools. We took our children to see the shrine circus a few years ago and that was a pretty good circus, but I thought they were really in for a treat now because we were going to the circus of all circuses. And that just wasn't the case. As an aside I was appalled at the act that included the little dogs, from our seats we could see the dog they made jump from the high pole trembling as he became aware his only way out was to jump down. Oh and the prices for souvenirs were OUTRAGEOUS!!! And I mean outrageous, even for a circus. You expect to pay eight dollars for a coke but ten dollars for a bag of cotton candy, come on. The least expensive souvenir that I saw was fourteen dollars and these were not the ones being advertised. My daughter saw a pink light up spinny thing that she just had to have and I asked how much it was. The gentleman said twenty dollars and I actually laughed out loud. I thought for a split second he was joking...nope. Save your money and wait for the shrine circus, at least their proceeds benefit a charity.
