Rihanna is nothing if not prolific. Since her 2005 debut, the 25-year-old singer has released seven albums and racked up twelve No. 1 singles, setting a record in the process as the solo artist with the fastest accumulation of ten chart-topping singles – a feat she accomplished in just under five years. A quick scroll through the radio dial will confirm that Rihanna is the most ubiquitous figure in Top 40 airplay, and considering her rapid-fire release schedule, it’s hardly a surprise that she recently edged out her idol Whitney Houston to become the artist with the ninth most Top 10 singles ever (24 in total). After hugely successful collaborations with Eminem in 2010 (“Love the Way You Lie”) and Drake in 2012 (Take Care), Rihanna scored her first U.S. No. 1 album with 2012’s Unapologetic, which includes the hugely successful “Diamonds” and “Stay.” Rihanna is shining bright in concert on the 2013 Diamonds World Tour -- opening acts 2 Chainz and A$AP Rocky are worth the ticket price alone.
Born in Barbados in 1988, Rihanna grew up listening to reggae and began singing at age seven. As a teen, her Caribbean-influenced demos attracted the attention of label execs, and in 2005 she auditioned for Jay-Z, signing a six-album record deal with Def Jam Recordings the same day. Her first two albums, Mother of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006), spawned hit singles “Pon De Replay” and chart-topper “S.O.S.,” but it wasn’t until “Umbrella,” from third album Good Girl Gone Bad (2007), that she cemented her place as a serious contender to the pop throne. Originally written for Britney Spears, “Umbrella” peaked at No. 1 and earned Rihanna her first Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. A string of platinum-selling albums would follow, including Loud (2010) and Talk That Talk (2011), both of which featured an increasingly dance-oriented sound, including chart-topping club anthems “Only Girl (In the World)” and “We Found Love.” After terminating her tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship with rapper Chris Brown, Rihanna released Unapologetic in 2013 to positive reviews – and a No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200.
This concert was better than I could have even imagined.
Rihanna was so amazing, she made it happened. I would definitely go to another of her concerts. The only thing that sucked is that it was on a Monday.
Great stage, great selection of songs! Playlist amazing!! Everything was beyond awesome
My first time at the forum seating was great in there, I would have loved to see more effects on stage but riri did such an amazing job kept me jumping and dancing on my chair lol I almost fell once..the atmosphere was great and glad she played all songs in her new album plus some old favorites!! Drake was the cherry on top never seen him live before but I was a little down she didn't use the lift at this show to go over the audience :( but overall it was an amazing show tons of fun!
Amazing vocals. Outstanding energy, Very humble. THE BEST OF THE BEST.
My seats were great section 128 row 11. Was close to the stage and to the big screens. Rihanna puts an awsome show. I felt like i was closr to the stage than the people on the last rows from the bottom floor seats, and those are more expensive
Awesome show! Rihanna kept us dancing and singing our hearts out. Cant wait for her next tour!
I've been a fan of Rih Rih from the beginning but for whatever reason I had never made it to see her live. She actually puts on a really good show. Lots of energy and sounds really good live. I've watched videos of some of her live performances and I can honestly say her voice is a lot better in person than in those videos. She really interacted with her crowd which is always a plus! I would go again. I didn't too much care for Travis Scott being the opening act. He's cool but I don't know if he is the right opener for Rih. But what do I know lol.
Rihanna put on a great show! It was very enjoyable except trying to get back to our seat, which we were at the entire show, the ushers at the talking stick resort arena gave us a hard time, and that ruined part of the show.
Amazing performer and performance, set and support performers were on point. Only drawback was that the O.Co. is a mosquito/leech sucking every last penny I had.
First, the show started one and half hour late. Then the stage was rearranged. Nothing spetacular. The custume was ugly. The show was not well organized. Maybe it's just me but I was very disappointed.
This concert was quite average. There was nothing special or spectacular. To come out with a hoodie on for the first few songs was strange too. You could not see her face. Plus, the white hood looked like a bag/straight jacket - odd. The clear walkway that moved was the best part. She also did not do full versions of some of her songs and she did not do any OLD hits. If you have ever seen Beyonce perform, this pales greatly in comparison. So save your money on Ri-Ri and see Beyonce instead!
This was my first concert experience so I didn't know much of what to expect. I've been a huge fan of hers for a long time so I sang to every song, and loved that everyone was on their feet the entire time. Overall Rihanna slayed us all with her presence.
This was my 3rd time seeing Rihanna and she did not disappoint. She covered a good variety of her music. Her dancers were great and she looked and sounded amazing. I'm looking forward to the next time she's in Oakland.
The concert is all that you'd want in a modern hip-hop/r&b concert. Travis $cott was pure on the mic, drawing hype and fans to rap along to his tracks. His set is not for everyone's ears, but you can not deny the effort he put out for his genre of music. When Rihanna came out, the crowd stood up and went nuts for her. During this moment, she'd start with a slow song, and as you expect she sang her way through her hits. The music and set transitioned to perfection, and she performed flawlessly on the mic and floor. There were moments where you just want to let loose and turn up to bad girl RiRi.
SHE SLAYED !!! She did an amazing job, I honestly did not think I could fall more in love with her but after this concert I did. It was elegant and simple with just a kick of Rihanna badass. Her vocal were on point and she gave a performance for the books! This concert really showed how she has developed as an artist and proving she has the ability to stay relevant in the long run. AMAZING IS ALL I CAN SAY !
I am still amazed on how much Rihanna has grown as a artist and performer. This show was AMAZING!!! I would go and see this show again(VIP of course) if she were here in my hometown performing it again.
I went into this show eagerly, mostly because I love Rihanna's music and because she always puts me in a good mood. She proved me 110% correct! Rihanna rocked the stage and I can honestly say that the Anti World Tour was one of the most fun shows I've ever been to!
Rih Rih did great!!! Lost my voice from singing every song she performed! Plus I cried 3 times just from looking at her and how beautiful she is lol plus Travis Scott was pretty cool too. Don't really listen to his music, but after hearing some of the songs he performed, I enjoy his beats & vibes so I might give him a listen more often!
Rihanna was amazing! Loved her show. She exceeded our ideas! Yes, she came on late, but we were expecting that. She had energy, great attitude, love for her audience. Travis Scott, however, was profane ( literally, his every other word was "motherfucking". Parents were rushing children out) and disrespectful to security personnel by advocating smoking and seating chaos. Very immature and with a poor vocabulary. He bounced around like Tigger, which seemed to be his only talent. Back to Rihanna...High energy, elegant, sweet, fun, respectful. We loved how she thanked not only her fans and crew, but venue staff and Security. We will be at her every show in the future! Thank you, Rihanna!
