RICK SPRINGFIELD IN CONCERT:
Rock superstar Rick Springfield has been wooing audiences with his polished voice and leading-man looks ever since his rise to fame in the early '70s. More than four decades later, he looks and sounds as good as ever, treating fans to an unforgettable evening of solo performance and storytelling on his Stripped Down tour. Taking time between each song to relay the touching and humorous stories that inspired them, Springfield has proven that his talents as an entertainer extend well beyond his musical abilities. Whether fans catch him solo or performing with a full band, they can count on plenty of showmanship and charisma as he works his way through nostalgic hits like "Jesse's Girl" and "Don't Talk to Strangers."
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Australian-born Rick Springfield began playing the guitar at age 13, cutting his teeth in several bands in England after his army officer father relocated the family there in 1958. After a stint fronting the British band Zoot in the late '60s, Springfield launched his solo career in 1971 with debut single "Speak to the Sky," a Top 10 hit in his native Australia. After releasing several moderately successful albums in the '70s, Springfield hit his stride in 1981 with Working Class Dog, a massive success propelled by the No. 1 hit "Jesse's Girl." 1982's My Success Hasn't Spoiled Yet fared similarly, landing at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and spawning several more hit singles. A veteran showman with four decades of touring under his belt, Springfield returns to the road once again for a string of highly anticipated tour dates.

"Not only was his music incredible, but his stories and humor made the evening a blast for our group of six!"
Fantastic show! Great music. Great memories. And great new music! Can't wait to go again!
The concert was phenomenal - so much passion. He came out into the audience several times. It's obvious that Rick Springfield really cares about the people that come to see him and wants to ensure that they have a great time! His energy is unbelievable!
As usual, Rick Springfield put on a great show. I can't believe that he still doesn't look or act more than 30. We had a great time at the concert....
....put on a great show as usual. Can't believe he's almost 60! He really knows how to work the crowd. A+++
OMG this was the most fun concert I've ever been to. Rick has so much charisma & energy. He came down to the crowd and we ere able to hug him and he was a great sport. GO for sure when he's in your area.
Rick rocked the house last night. I always try to hit all of rick's shows when he is in the Orange county area. I highly highly recommend that everyone see rick at least once in thier life. He is a great preformer and always leave his audience wanting more..
My wife and daughter went to the show and they loved it. Since I got the tickets early enough they were in the Circle area of the venu and Springfield got up and personal with them. The wife got two big hand fulls of butt and just about died, LOL. Daughter got a hug and now wont wash the sweat off for a month. They had a great time and were entertained and Daddy got major brownie points
I last saw rick springfield 20 years ago and he was just as entertaining last night as he was then. At the amphitheater he knows how to hold a crowd and he sounded great! Did not sing my favorite song though, rock till you bob, but sang all his other hits.
Better than 1981, recommended for all. Our 14 year old daughter had the best time ever.
It was a good show. It took me back to great time in my life.
he always puts on a great show!!! loved his enthusiasm.
First off, I was floored to find out the man will be 60 this year... doesn't look at day over 40! He looks amazing!!! Secondly - hands down one of the most charismatic entertainers around. He completely engages the audience & he makes you feel like you are part of the show. He gets out there & walks across the chairs shaking hands & meeting people face-to-face while he's singing! He sounds great, the band sounds great, he sang all the hits plus his some of new stuff which is also very good. All age groups in attendance. Overall, an OUTSTANDING concert! I was with a group of 6 & we all couldn't stop talking about the show! We all vowed to see him again first chance we get. HIGHLY recommend!!! And ladies... and the gay guys... Rick is HOT!!! =)
What a great show. He has still got it. MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED
I must admit I am not a huge Rick Springfield fan...but the tickets were $10 and included fair admission (so basically the concert was free). We had great seats. He did a good job of getting the crowd going. The part that was unbelievable was that he is turning 60 in a few days. I would have guessed that he was mid-40's. However, it was obvious that he has spent his down time working out. He did have a great body. He did have a lot of issues with guitars not working or being tuned...but he played through it all with good humor.
High energy and fun! Great set list of favorite songs and new songs. Fabulous performance!
He put on an excellent show. Such the entertainer. My husband surprised me with tickets and I am so glad he did. We had the most amazing time. I cannot believe that Rick Springfield is going to 60 years young in a month. His body is a temple that deserves to be worshipped and his energy level was out of this world. He was funny, entertaining and well worth the money. The evening was thoroughly enjoyable!!!!! I would recommend him to anyone and have told everyone at my work how good the show was. Should he come back to the Pacific Amphitheatre next year, you'll find us there! Thanks Rick for such an amazing evening and performance.
Voice was incredible, unlike some artists who are awful live. Very interactive with the audience. Knows his fans are the reason he IS somebody. Had some tech issues with guitars, but laughed them off and improvised better than anyone could expect.
I have been a Rick Springfield fan since I was 12 years old and I love him just as much now as I did back then. The show was GREAT!! I think that he looks and sound better now then he did back in the 80's!
OK, so, i thought this would be a rock n roll fun evening and it was anything but! He broke three guitars and only one on purpose and that was because he dropped it so he had to make it "look" good by smashing it on the ground like it was suppose to happen. His voice is just not their anymore i mean if he was'nt screaming it was not a song. Very disapointed.
Rick of course did a great job as always when I see him. I wish it was longer. :) It was a nice night, great seats and he was friendly, amazing and my friend who has never seen him in concert, LOVED him. We had a great time!!!!
