RICK SPRINGFIELD IN CONCERT:

Rock superstar Rick Springfield has been wooing audiences with his polished voice and leading-man looks ever since his rise to fame in the early '70s. More than four decades later, he looks and sounds as good as ever, treating fans to an unforgettable evening of solo performance and storytelling on his Stripped Down tour. Taking time between each song to relay the touching and humorous stories that inspired them, Springfield has proven that his talents as an entertainer extend well beyond his musical abilities. Whether fans catch him solo or performing with a full band, they can count on plenty of showmanship and charisma as he works his way through nostalgic hits like "Jesse's Girl" and "Don't Talk to Strangers."

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Australian-born Rick Springfield began playing the guitar at age 13, cutting his teeth in several bands in England after his army officer father relocated the family there in 1958. After a stint fronting the British band Zoot in the late '60s, Springfield launched his solo career in 1971 with debut single "Speak to the Sky," a Top 10 hit in his native Australia. After releasing several moderately successful albums in the '70s, Springfield hit his stride in 1981 with Working Class Dog, a massive success propelled by the No. 1 hit "Jesse's Girl." 1982's My Success Hasn't Spoiled Yet fared similarly, landing at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and spawning several more hit singles. A veteran showman with four decades of touring under his belt, Springfield returns to the road once again for a string of highly anticipated tour dates.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Loved the more intimate setting of just Rick, loved the stories mixed in with the songs."

"Rick sounds great! He tells the stories behind the songs. So fun!"

"Not only was his music incredible, but his stories and humor made the evening a blast for our group of six!"

    74 and still rocking it

by Marie on 2/24/24Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

He was unbelievably good. His stamina is exemplary. I want too fond of the doors opening at 7:30 and he didn’t start until 9:30

Rick Springfield & Richard Marx - 1/21/24 Capitol Theater

by DN on 1/27/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

It was a shame that Rick was under the weather but am glad he carried on. Overall the show was okay. Though it was an acoustic show, I'm looking forward to a regular concert with a backup band.

It Felt Like Being Back in the 80's!

by Laura H. on 1/25/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

Wonderful being with audience members who rocked out to Rick Springfield and Richard Marx in the 1980's. Lots of conversation between the performers who are friends. They contributed interesting fun facts throughout the show. Both musicians are in top form. They really put their heart and soul into their performances. It was a wonderful time. I highly recommend catching their show!

It was a variety show! Two very talented musicians, great music and lots of laughs! Richard says what’s on his mind! Great guys, humble and kind. Both Rick and Richard stopped to take pix with my wife and made her night! My wife loved them so much I’m taking her to see them again Sunday 1/28 in Huntington, NY

    What a surprisingly wonderful night!

by SB on 1/24/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

Just Rick Springfield and Richard Marx and their guitars. Stripped back, intimate, funny, and a glorious throwback to the 80s! Having never seen either of them live, Marx was surprisingly funny for having a repertoire of such gut wrenching songs. Would absolutely go again!

    OUTSTANDING CONCERT

by NCSHOEDIVA on 1/24/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

This concert was GREAT! The concept of having them perform together was ingenuitive. The process of each artist having a moment where they shared their own personal story and then sang a meaningful song was so creative. My husband and I loved this show! We went to college in the late 80s and bonded over our love of the same music. It was an incredibly enjoyable evening.

One of the best shows I have seen. Needed this escape from reality. Enjoyed the camaraderie between RS and Richard Marx. Couldn't have asked for a better time.

Good music, stories and venue. I have seen Rick Springfield many times over the years and it’s hard to believe he is 74 years old. He still rocks.

    Great Show but Concessions?

by Missy M on 1/23/24Premier Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

Rick Springfield and Richard Marx have a very entertaining rapport and were fun to watch. Rick, at one point, interrupted his song to yell at some latecomers - 'You're late!' - and then lost his place in the song, lol. Marx was the only performer i've ever seen who actually harmonized with the audience who was singing the chorus of his song. My only complaint was that i got thirsty about an hour or so into the show and went looking for some water only to find that ALL of the concessions were already closed down? This was a casino venue and i just did not understand this at all. One of the vendors took pity and gave me a free bottle of water which was much appreciated. How can you not have refreshments available for what ended up being the last hour of the show? Awful. Shame on Foxwoods!

    Enjoyable concert

by Rita on 1/23/24Premier Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

Being seated up high in the Mezzanine, I thought it would be hot and have stuffy air. Not so! It had fresh air circulating and the temperature was perfect! Plus the video screen was clear and the acoustics were perfect. The concert was extremely entertaining and oh so much FUN!! Talented singers! Loved it!!

by Ju-Ju on 1/23/24Premier Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

I think having a duo acoustic show was amazing. You can clearly see the love and humor between both singers and having the audience involved was wonderful. One of the most fun shows I have been to. Bravo!

    Fantastic acoustic performance

    by MmS on 1/23/24

My friend and I were so excited to see “the 2 Ricks” when we purchased tickets that we didn’t even realize until a half hour before the concert at Foxwoods that it was going to be an acoustic show! It was truly amazing seeing these two guys that we both listened to as teenagers perform together. The banter between them was so much fun and it’s easy to feel the friendship they share. They played a great show. Both the music and the artist’s interaction with the audience were incredible and we had a really fun time!

Rick Springfield/Richard Marx: Funny Music Masters!

by Val on 1/23/24Premier Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

I attended two shows with Rick Springfield & Richard Marx's this past weekend at Foxwoods Casino in CT and at The Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY. They are both masters of their craft and their repartee is funny as hell. Having been friends for nearly 40 years, it's obvious how comfortable they are with each other. I've been a Rick fan since 1972 and have become a Richard fan after seeing him and Rick perform together three times so far. They definitely are consumate entertainers and a great time was had by all who attended these concerts.

    Awesome Evening

by Lisa on 1/22/24Premier Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - Mashantucket

The fellas are both still on top of their game musically and vocally, and the stories between songs are the icing on the cake. If they toured with this show for the rest of their lives, I’d be in the audience every chance I got.
