Where to begin. Fabulous. Favorites were (in no particular order) Tommy Mara & the Crests, Jay Seigel's Tokens, Gene Chandler, John Kuse & the Excellents and Lenny Coco and The Chimes. Even the kids that opened the show "The Whip Tones" with their acapela number were great. Some little low points, they need to lose the Elvis impersonator; looks like him, has the moves, can't sing. Get rid of "Twin Gold", horrible voices but they sang a patriotic song so they charmed the crowd. The BIGGEST disappointment was Jay Black. He really needs to retire. Dressed like a schlub, could hardly walk and the voice is gone. He can still hit the high notes but the quality of his voice has dramatically changed. He belongs out there with the remnants of the BeachBoys. Brags about turning 73 and looks 83. On the other hand, Gene Chandler who is 75 years old, brought down the house. Still a tremendous entertainer with a magnificent voice to match. Tommy Mara, what an incredible talent. Thanks to the Nader people for keeping the music alive.
