The West Coast Jam, Chris Big Dog Jam, and Grover Washington Tribute 75 was breath taking. Five stars for the music, acoustics, entertainment, hotel, venues, food, and services. I really enjoyed.

That was a beautiful show I had a great seat and what really touch my heart was when they gave the instrument to that young man that was heart touching !

  • RICHARD ELLIOTT ATTUCKS THEATER CONCERT

by rbongio on 11/8/17Attucks Theatre - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

Went to see Richard Elliott at the Attucks Theater this past weekend. I am a professional musician and devoted fan of Richard. The musicians in his group are ALL OUTSTANDING in their own right. Experts on their axe, as is Richard. The concert performance was excellent WITH ONE EXCEPTION! The monitors "on stage" may have been set right for the band members BUT the sound engineer on the board needs to really consider the audience and do the same for them..Sound 101 - produce a balanced group sound. The Bass Guitar was amped up so much that you could not hear a balanced group. The guitar, drums and keyboards were almost muffled out because of the BASS volume. The predominant instruments were Sax and Bass. Richard, you're not down in the audience, so you can't hear what I heard. If you did, you would agree with me. If Richard is reading this, please understand this is "constructive criticism". Your other musicians are just too great not to be heard and appreciated during ALL of your tunes, not just on their solos. Hopefully you will pass this on to your engineer. This is pretty basic sound stuff!

Great new SmoothJazz, keeping it real and alive.. Outstanding show and great band, we need more Smooth Jazz shows.

Elliot is a world class musician and performer. His energy and creativity made the show fly by.

  • Richard was excellent! Bobby was ok, but not best.

    by Penquin100 on 4/9/16Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingRating: 4 out of 5

Richard was excellent! He really pull the stops. I wished he did more hits but he shared the stage with Bobby Caldwell. I saw Bobby back in '93 and he was awesome! But that was 23 years ago. He definitely aged. So is his singing. I'm glad to see my favorite musicians in his band; Nathaniel Philips (Pleasure) and Gerry Johnson (Brian Culberson) ripping it up. Richard was great! Smurfy enjoyed the show as well. Will definitely see him again!

  • Elliott Rocked!

by DadnDaughter on 4/6/16Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingRating: 4 out of 5

Once again, Richard Elliott and his EXCELLENT band brought it to the fans at the Berks Jazz Fest! Lots of favorites, a few lesser known (but still wonderful) numbers, and an overall great show! On the downside, Bobby Caldwell shared the stage for 5 or 6 songs. Musically, not a great match. And while the talent is still there, can't imagine working with this guy. He motioned to the sound crew over a dozen times to increase the volume on his microphone, and several of those requests were accompanied by dirty looks. Trust us, he was loud enough. This was followed by some snarky comments about having to listen to fans' stories while he signs CD's. Sorry to trouble you; if it bothers you that much, stay home.

  • Richard Elliott Show at Reading

by washM on 4/6/16Berks Jazz Fest - ReadingRating: 4 out of 5

Great Sax performance. Richard E. Is the best Saxon Player and plays with feeling. Baby Caldwell was average. OnLynda his original old hit was well performed.

Back to back stellar performance by each music artist. Very poor turnout for vast size venues. Melinda vocalist was incredible! All musicians were great! My uncle and Bob hope performed there back in the day.

  • Fandamntastic!!!

    by WSW1 on 8/11/12Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Richard Elliot has to be one of the greatist sax players around. The artist and his instrument just seem to meld as one as he blows his lungs out for hours without hardly stopping. Rick Braun is a true master of the trumpet. Just a totally excellent show!!

  • These guys can really blow!

by MortG on 8/11/12Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Thursday's concert was outstanding. The best was Richard's solo of "When a Man Loves a Woman", but it was all good. If you get a chance, go!

  • Amazing Energy

by RoniZ on 8/11/12Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Had a great evening. Birchmere is a wonderful, intimate setting and R&R gave a great performance. Showcased both their talents and also combined nicely for great synergy. Band was tight also. I took a friend for his bday - he had a great time.

  • R & R Never Disappoints

by RabidColdplayFan on 8/11/12Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Rick Braun several times over the years and no matter where he's at musically, he always puts on an amazing show. This was the second time I saw Rick Braun and Richard Elliot together, so I knew I was in for a roof-raising performance. They have great chemistry together and never try to upstage each other. The set list was a nice mix of favorites and new material from both artists. If you have the chance to see them, do yourself a favor and go.

  • Richard Elliot AWESOME as always!

by JackieJohnson on 5/12/11Bishop Arts Theatre - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I've always loved Richard Elliot. My husband and I have seen him several times when he's come to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We've even purchased many of his CD's. He is a talented wind instrumentalist! He gives a 110% percent to his shows. I love how he becomes one with the Saxophone. It's like he's making love to his instrument. I love it! This last show here in Dallas at the Bishop Arts Theater was EXCELLENT! The theater was quaint, elegant and romantic. A very nice setting. The drinks were excellent! The opening act was Steve Oliver. It was our first time hearing Steve, but he did not let us down. He was great as well. We were up close and personal with Richard. After the show, Richard came out for autographs. He met and greeted us. It was great! He is a very nice, humble artist. He appeared to be as genuine as his music. Richard Elliot is a MUST SEE!!!

This was our first time to see Richard Elliot in person and what a performance it was. I won't ever miss an opportunity to see him again.

I have seen many of the greats - Grover Washington included - and I would say Richard may be the closest to Grover...

  • Jazz show at Bishop Arts Theatre Center in Dallas

by southlake1 on 2/7/11Bishop Arts Theater Center - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

The venue is very unique with a small setting and great sound. Also complimentary beverages and meet and greet with the artist. This is an annual jazz series. Support it by coming on down so it continues.
