Rhett Miller:Total Showman and Professional
by SteveReeb on 10/20/11Duck Room at Blueberry Hill - St LouisRhett Miller put on a fantastic show, playing favorites for the crowd not only from his solo work, but also from his band, Old 97s. So many performers put on a great show, and the Duck Room is famous for hosting such acts. Miller takes it to another level, interacting with the crowd, taking requests, playing and singing impeccably, but most of all, making the crowd feel like he's playing to a roomful of friends. His connection with his fans is both admirable and very sincere. Clearly, through many years of both fronting his band and playing out solo, he still enjoys what he does and it showed throughout the entire evening. In addition to his performance, Miller also took the time after the show to take pictures with fans, sign autographs, and generally just hang out with folks. This despite the fact that he had a show in another state the next night. All in all, a wonderful evening. Trest yourself and see Miller and/or the Old 97s the next time they come to the Lou.
