Absolutely amazing concert vocal and music sound. A MUST-SEE concert whenever you get the chance.
SINCE I HAVEN'T SEEN RENAISSANCE IN OVER 30 YEARS, I HAD EXPECTED A 'SO-SO' PERFORMANCE. BUT I WAS UNBELIEVABLY SURPRISED TO HEAR ANNIE'S VOICE JUST AS POWERFUL AND UNFALTERING AS EVER! AND THE BAND WAS TRULY PHENOMENAL! NOT ONE IOTA OF DISAPPOINTMENT HERE.
Despite health & technical issues Annie was mesmerizing. Band was in top form.
The band was great. Annie's voice was amazing, even considering some technical issues & Annie was in pain due to a spinal fracture.
The songs were beautiful and musicians were flawless! Even with some equipment problems , Annie sounded as strong and wonderful as always.Loved"Touching Once" as I don't hear it often.
Great show! Annie H.had severe back pain but sang strong! Band was tight!
They are really orchestral rock! Her voice was powerful. Their harmonizing was magical. Such a momentous unique music experience. Poetic lyrics accompanied by master musicians. It was also especially cool because they have endured time and still GOT IT!
Sounds were excellent despite Annie's spinal injury. She was a real trooper and carried on wonderfully. It was good to hear them again as I haven't seen them in probably 35 years! Worst part was the seating in the Scottish Rite Auditorium. Must have been built for people no bigger than 5'5". Never go there again.
They couldn't have been better. Tight musicians. Annie was in top form even with a huge back brace on her. You could tell that she was in lots of pain. The show went on and it was great!!
Excellent show! It was refreshing to hear quality music . The accoustic Electric sound is unique and Annie sings like a siren. Great show!!!
Terrific concert at the keswick, band was spot on and pretty much knocked it out of the park! The venue is talky though and the concession stand behind the seats had too many talkers and the cash registers were cashing out (You could hear it printing the receipts) during the concert. But the show itself was great!
The show was absolutely magnificent, especially after finding out that Annie Haslam was singing with a compression fracture! She is without a doubt the single best vocalist I have ever heard. Also the entire band was incredible as well. Fantastic musicianship!
I had never seen Renaissance in concert before their October 20th performance in NYC. I was amazed that they did not have an opening act. Renaissance was the only act. And they were BEYOND STUNNING-BEYOND PERFECTION!!!! Renaissance in concert sounds identical to Renaissance on CD, Note for note, Sonic Perfection. Off all the great performers whom I have seen over the years, Renaissance has by far the highest level of exquisite musicianship of any group that I have seen in my life. And what more can you say about Annie Haslam? She was note for note perfection. Her extraordinary vocal range and the purity of her voice was exquisite. With her health problems, another performer might not have even tried to reach for, much less acheived, Annie Haslam's level of sonic excellence. Annie Haslam, being the true professional that she is, overcame any health problems that she had and enthralled a rapt audience and put a smile on their faces as well as their ears. Bravo Annie Haslam and Renaissance, you were exquisite! Thank you so very much.
Music was great...but a bit loud, could have dialed it back a bit....vocals should not have to compete with volume. A bit put off with Annie H.....wanting the audience to applaud. We know you're good, you know you're good.....enough said.
Annie was awesome! Still hits all the notes and the band was spectacular.
Song selection was good. Would like to have heard Black Flame. New keyboard & vocalist, Jason Hart - excellent. Of my dozen times seeing this Band, not sure the sound mix was the best.
I hadn't seen Renaissance since 1979 but was amazed at how well Annie Haslam could still lit all the notes on songs like Carpet of the Sun. Her scat singing was amazing especially when they did the Novella album. The musicians behind her were extremely talented and supported her well. Michael Dunsford has been the group since the 70's. Annie was playing with a conpression fracture in her back and was a real trouper to come out and entertain us. she might not be able to jump around on stage but here vocals were unaffected. I enjoy the old English sound of their songs - could see some of these in a soundtrack for a movie set in Medieval times. Even the 3 new songs they played were very listenable and worthy of their opus. A wonderful evening of music. Go see Renaissance if they come to your town.
Show was very good as was the sound. Easy to get to.
Renaissance put on an unforgettable performance. They played every song with perfection and the songs from their new album are excellent. Annie Haslam as always sings with such power and elegance it is almost magical. Any time that Renaissance or Annie perform any where within my region I make sure that I am there.
Despite poor Annie's injury and the resulting brace she had to wear, as her voice soard through "Mother Russia", it brought tears to my eyes like it did when I saw her and the band years ago at the Palladiun in NYC. Some sounds and music can do that. They harmonized as in days past and several of their newer pieces were... Excellent. I say that having been repeatedly disappointed by older favorite Groups, past their prime ,still trying extend their musical run sans new inspiration. But not here... The richness of their music doesn't dull with age, merely points out what so much of new music lacks.... DEPTH ,richness ,and Musical expertise.... It was terrific... And I can hear Annie's laugh forever..
