About The Regina Pats
The oldest continuously operating team in junior hockey, the Regina Pats have called Saskatchewan's capital home since 1917, winning four Memorial Cups (1925, 1928, 1930, and 1974), the 1974 and 1980 WHL titles, and countless other championships in over the last 100 years. The Pats' name stems from the Victorian era, as they were named in honor of Princess Patricia of Connaught, the granddaughter of Queen Victoria (Princess Patricia father, Prince Arthur, was Governor General of Canada at the time). To this day, the Pats wear the emblem of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI), which was founded during the First World War. During the Pats' 1927-28 season they were known as the Regina Monarchs after merging with another team, but except for that one year (in which they won the Memorial Cup) they continue to honour Patricia of Connaught.
Many notable players have suited up for the Pats over the past century. Glenn "Chico" Resch and Clark Gillies, who both contributed to the New York Islanders' success in the early 1980s, played for the Pats in the early '70s. Hockey Hall of Famer Al MacInnis played two games for the Pats before spending the majority of his junior career in the OHL, while legendary Michigan head coach Red Berenson played parts of three seasons with the Pats before embarking on a long career as an NHL player and a pro and college coach. Three Pats players have won the CHL Player of the Year trophy, including goalie Ed Staniowski as the first recipient in 1975, future NHL Draft first overall pick Doug Wickenheiser in 1980, and Jordan Eberle in 2010.
The Pats play at the recently renovated Brandt Centre, which hosted Skate Canada 2017 and the 2018 Memorial Cup, and seats 6,484 for hockey. They play in the East Division of the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference, against such rivals as the Brandon Wheat Kings, Moose Jaw Warriors, Prince Albert Raiders, Saskatoon Blades, and Swift Current Broncos.
Good to see the place packed. But tickets snacks etc have gotten out of control. Likely won’t be back 😞
Great Game, The Kid had 5 points, Regina fans were awesome…No problems getting in. Tickets were reasonably priced.
It took well over an hour to get out of the parking lot. One exit. Serious. What did the hockey teams from Edmonton and other places think of Regina? More planning is needed to say the least.
Get the curtains down if you want me back. If I can’t see the game while using the facilities or the concessions then why have concessions at all
The curtains in the concourse prevents everyone in the concourse from seeing the game. Wow. That’s really awesome. Great Western Beer is not my bag. the prices, comfort, visibility and ability financially to bring my children hinders my desire to come back.
Your parking lot when you are leaving a game is horrible. You need a better design. Better set-up so the traffic can flow. Other then that my kids loved there first game ever. Thank you
The game was terrific because Connor Bedard played fantastic with 4 goals and 2 assists. The price of the tickets was way too high for a Junior hockey game. I won't be going again because of the prohibitive ticket price which is a shame because Bedard is a generational player and I won't be able to enjoy his play as a member of the Regina Pats. The Pats management should re-establish child, adults and senior's prices at affordable levels and they would fill the arena. The way it is now they will maybe get a half full arena if they are lucky.
it was ok not an lot of fan experience but otherwise meh ton of vendors
Experience was great but the price for a ticket is a little ridiculous for jr hockey. Has made me attend half the games I used to.
Pats were behind in the end of the 2nd period and came back to tie the game in the third.
My kids really enjoyed this but we didn’t know you could meet the pats after the game totally bummed my kids would of absolutely loved meeting them My son a hockey crazy Maybe one day he can
Brandt Centre is easy to get to, lots of parking, great facility, extra activities - pregame, intermissions, etc were all well done
Line Brawl was amazing. They scored 9 goals and even got to punch the opponents in the face. 10/10 will go again.
Although was a lose, it was a great game. Good preshow n half time shows. Lots of laughs and memories made
Good seats a little obstructed but eother way was great seats.
Good experience to be close to the players but view of game and what was going was obstructed by all the players. Still had a great time though. Great experience and the energy is awesome!
Great event for my first hockey game! Loved it and would go again.
