Brandon Wheat Kings Live
One of the longest-standing Canadian Junior Hockey teams, the Brandon Wheat Kings are the only Western Hockey League (WHL) team in Manitoba. The three-time WHL champs have played at the 5,102 capacity Keystone Centre since 1972, and the facility has been expanded and renovated twice during their tenure. If there's a claim to fame for the Brandon Wheat Kings, it's as breeding ground for some of the best talent in the NHL. The legendary Ray Ferraro once scored 102 goals in a single season while wearing a Wheat Kings jersey, before embarking on an illustrious 400+ goal NHL career. All-Star defensemen Wade Redden, Bryan McCabe, and Dustin Byfuglien have all skated for the Wheat Kings at the Keystone Centre, and Vezina Trophy–winning goaltender Ron Hextall and legendary three-time Stanley Cup winner Chris Osgood both played in Brandon before becoming all-time greats. Now, Coach David Anning's team is led by forwards Stelio Mattheos and Luka Burzan, along with goalie Jiri Patera, and they are always pushing toward the playoffs with one of the best home records in the Eastern Conference. Tickets to see the Wheat Kings and their mascot, Willie the Coyote, in person are available for single games, groups, and four-game mini-packs for the price of three, as well as seven games for the price of five. Private parties can book the 94.7 Star FM Viewing Lounge for the ultimate Wheat Kings experience at the Keystone Centre.
Brandon Wheat Kings Background
Founded in 1936, the Brandon Wheat Kings joined the Western Hockey League (WHL) for the 1967-68 season. They won the WHL championship in 1979, 1996, and 2006, while the 1979 team holds the WHL record for most points in a season with a stout 125. The Wheat Kings have been runners-up in the Canadian Junior Hockey Memorial Cup five times and play all of their games in the heart of Manitoba's commercial district at the Keystone Centre.
Experience was great! Great seats and we pulled out the win in OVERTIME!!
It was a good game, otherwise the person that was behind me was drunk and vulgar, being loud. Security came to warn him and tried to remove the person, but didn’t do anything. Security at these events should be better honestly.
I arrived early not sure what to expect, great affordable game drink specials/food specials. Great hockey🏒🥅 atmosphere tons of action on the ice and some fights in the game fast pace game had lots of fun will most definitely see another game. Very family friendly with a great out going mascot Willie dog 🐕 🏒🥅🥅🍺🍺👌👍
My family always enjoys attending the Wheat Kings games!!😊👍🏻
The game itself was fast-paced and exciting. Unfortunately this was overshadowed by the complete lack of whistles from the refs. Multiple infractions were "let go"(on both sides) and by the end the frustration was visible in both teams as well as the crowd which really diminished the ability to enjoy the experience. This was our first game of the season as a family of 4 and if the Wheat Kings and WHL are serious about getting repeat viewers, they need to fix this. I really don't have any desire to return and watch another spectacle like that.
Had a great time, was easy getting tickets and the app is convenient and not hard to use.
Paid way too much for my tickets! Didn’t know this until after the fact! The game itself was good
Great game - went into overtime/shoot-outs, excellent experience with family
Nice to booked tickets that way very easy to a hockey game
Over all great experience it was an afternoon game. Brandon Wheat Kings put on a great event for all ages.
