    too much wait

by OSUWYO on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

The concerts were overall supposed to start at 4. We had to wait until 5:30 to hear the live music. After the first performer, we had to wait 40 minutes until the next one! This went on until after Auburn, when we waited around 1 hour for shontelle. Then we waited around 1 and 15 minutes for BTR. Overall, I have said 'wait' far too many times in this review. Although Big Time Rush was awesome, they only performed 5 or 6 songs. I started out thinking that the concert would be 2 hours, whereas it ended up being a 6 hour concert. A little bit dissapointed at the end. Not saying the singers were bad, the performers were amazing, but the wait definitely lowered my mood.

We bought the tickets only to see Big Time Rush due to our four year old being a HUGE fan. We were told that BTR would start sometime in the 8:00 hour. We left at 9:35 pm without seeing Big Time Rush. After being in the heat during the day at World's of Fun, our four year old could not hang anymore. There was entirely too much time between performers. The performers did not have band equipment that needed to be dismantled and then reset. I thought the lag between sets was completely unnecessary. We left completely disappointed. We had been looking forward to seeing our son see BTR for months.

My son bought the tickets online and was not aware that you had to pay to get into worlds of fun on top of paying for the red white and boom tickets. Website was not clear, So he did not get to go to the concerte because he did not have the money to get into worlds of fun. I purchased the tickets for him and he did not get to go a waste of money

Get there early and prepare to suffer

by Icantseeu on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

Timeline: 4pm gates open 5pm first act 9:45 Big Time Rush Starts Temp: 100 degrees Seating: If you got there early enough and didn't mind sitting in the heat for 5 hours, you could have got a bench seat. We were prepared to sit in the grass, but we weren't prepare for everyone to be standing on the benches the whole time. My kids couldn't see anything and the park staff was uneffective at making people sit down. Pay for the VIP upgrade. Music: This was a 5 1/2 hour concert with maybe 2 hours of live music and the rest was provided by the radio station. The event was scheduled to be over by 10pm so we could enjoy the fireworks, but BTR was about 45min late so we missed those too. Summary: The kids had a good time, but most of the parents were hot, tired, and broke by the end.

    horrible experience

by court5532 on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

The concert was to start at 4. It was a million degrees outside and the first performance didn't start till close to 5:45, she sang 3 songs and was done. Had to wait another 30-45 minutes for the next performance and so on. It took way to long in between sets. We were told Big Time Rush would come on stage at 8:50. It was 9:45 before they came on and were done by 10:15ish. I'm extremely disappointed that we sat there for 6hrs and the concert was drug out and ridiculous. I don't think I will ever go to another Red White and Boom concert. I paid good money to take my son to his 1st concert and it was a horrible experience.

It was ok. Took way to long in between acts. Also we were on the lawn and with everyone standing on the bleachers we not only couldn't see the performers but we could barely see the screen as well.

Worst Red White & Boom, EVER!

by fiveobarbie on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

We were so excited about this show being at Worlds Of Fun. We purchased GOLD Section VIP seats. We showed up in line an hour early to find out how we would be able to get our guaranteed seating to find out it was not organized nor would we be "VIP's". We did not get seats in the first 10 rows (what we specifically purchased). There were many other people at the show that had the same disappointment. Also: Sound was awful for all performers (not their fault). Lots of feedback to which even the performers were asking to turn down the mics because they could hear it. Eventually we saw most of the performers pulling their earpieces because it was so terrible.

Unorganized!!!! Was guaranteed a seat in the first 10 rows and when I got there there were no seats left. Paid for a BTR lanyard and they were out of those too!!! Thumbs down!!

Great show, but where was the WOF staff?

by BTRmom on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

Fantastic show put on by BTR! I was a little afraid that perhaps their talent was produced in the studio, but this is not the case. These four young men are incredibly talented, great singers, pretty good dancers, and very charismatic entertainers! The crowd loved them and they persevered and gave a great show in spite of the 100+ degree temperatures. My only two criticisms - the show could have been longer. I think the roadies spent more time preparing for the set than the band spent on stage. Also, I could not find any Worlds of Fun staff to help with seating. We had paid extra for VIP seating and could not obtain the special lanyard or even find someone who could direct us to one. All in all, a fantastic show! Big Time Rush is awesome and the show was definitely the highlight of my seven year-old's (and my) summer!

BTR Concert - Woulds of Fun

by horrendous1994 on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

This was one of the most unorganized events I have ever been to. Worlds of Fun was not prepared to handle this amount of people for a general admission concert. I have been to a Motley Crue concert in the '80's and getting into this event was like being at their concert in the pit by the stage (by the way is NO place for little kids to be). With this band being a kid's show, they should have known small and teenage kids would be there. Kids were literally getting knocked down and ran over so other kids could get a seat due to it being general admission. When the singers finally took the stage they only sang 4 songs and then there was roughly a 45 min OR LONGER break before the next singer took stage. Big Time Rush did not even come on until 9:30pm and we had been in line since 3pm to see them, and by that time my 9 year old girl was in tears because she got hurt getting into the concert and didn't even want to stay to listen to them so we left without seeing the main band we came to see. This was my daughters first concert and she left crying. Worst experience EVER, Here I was trying to give my daughter a wonderful weekend and drove 4 hours to and from Worlds of Fun and spent hundreds of dollars for my daughter to tell me she wants to forget this weekend ever happend.

Poor Production Value - Great Performances

by MSpin27 on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

We spent more time waiting for each act than watching each act. The performers were very talented and deserved a better production. The lighting was terrible. Even on the big screen the artists looked totally up-lit. Also, the fireworks were included in part of the marketing for the production; however, the fireworks display and the headliner were simultaneously fighting for the spotlight. It seemed like the venue was not prepared for such an event. Disappointing.

    to long of a wait

by luvbtr on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

Don't get me worng Big Time Rush was awesome..we love those boys! But I feel that there shoud have been an itinerary of the show. Because BTR didn't come on stage till like 9:40pm and the gates opened at 4pm.Then inbetween the opening acts there was like 45 minutes inbetween them. With it being as hot as it was, it is to much to ask of little kids to wait almost 5 hours to see the band that they were waiting to see. I hope BTR comes back to KC and has a concert in doors at the Sprint Center. I will never do an outdoor concert again...Definitely not at Worlds of Fun...

Red, White and Boom was amazing!

by cricket2011 on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

Mix 93.3's Red, White, and Boom was a night filled with stars-literally! Besides the 100+ temperature, everything else was exceptional. The singers and bands where amazing and the performances were unforgettable. Sarah McMullen opened with an incredible live performance, making her mark as a up and coming superstar. Big Time Rush was an exceptional act-exceeding the crowd's expectations.

    Too Hot to Enjoy

by Charna on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

We were very disappointed in this event. It was way to hot in K.C. to have this event outdoors. People were passing out and leaving before the concert even started. In the future Red, White, and Boom should be held indoors. Basically it was a waste of time and money.

Music was good...organization not so much :)

by redmax on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

The music from all acts was wonderful....my kids really enjoyed that part. However, the delay in starting the shows, in 100 degree plus heat and relentless sunshine, made it sort of a miserable day. Really wish the weather had been taken into consideration....maybe some shade set-up, or FREE refill of water bottles. Alot of miserable kiddo's sitting around us....which makes for miserable adults. This was supposed to be a family show...take your demographics into account. Overall a good show...and I know no one can predict the weather...but things can be done and it didn't need to run 1 1/2 hours late :).

    Red, White and Boom

by Awad on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

Having the temperature being near 100, one would think there would be some consideration as to when Big Time Rush would show up on stage. Kids everywhere were misribale waiting from about 4pm till roughtly about 9:30pm for the big even to take place. NO CONSIDERATION WHAT SO EVER. NEVER AGAIN COMING TO WORLDS OF FUN....NEVER!!!!!!!!!! Why have so many people wait and wait and wait. Have a schedule to people can go our, take few rides, have a bite to eat while they wait for the big event.

by NotanAngel on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

RWB was fun, but WOF was greedy. $3 for water! NO!
