    Big Time Rush

by Anonymous on 7/27/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

The acts were okay, but the sound system was horrible!!!! Every act was getting to much feedback, the second girl that performed even asked for hers to be turned down, which did not happen! Had to plug my ears with my fingers to keep the screeching form hurting my entire head! Will never attend another Red White and Boom concert again, unless this gets fixed! Was very disappointed and I am faithful listener of Mix 93.3. I paid thinking I was getting reserved seats, this was not the case. I did not stand in line forever thinking my seats were reserved and when I got there I found out it was a free for all for the first ten rows, just as it was for the rest of the stadium. Although, the view was great, even for my eight year old daughter. More information is needed for those wishing to buy tickets for the GOLD section.

    BIG TIME RUSH was A-freaking-MAZING!

by Bree2009 on 7/26/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

The major problem I had with the show was that it was outdoors all day in the heat. (I have MAJOR sunburn and almost passed out from it). I was in line from 12-4. and when they opened the gate there was NO organization. I was very disappointed I could not keep my ticket. ALSO people became very upset when they found themselves seated in the 'VIP' section, and were asked to move. I saw many moms yelling. I believe that in the future, if there is a VIP section. They should be seated at least 30 mins before the general admission. There also wasn't enough entertainment. After being seated, there was a good 2 hours where no performers were on, just radio music. There was a LOT of issues with microphones and feedback for the openers, which made me feel bad for them. The in-between music was also repeative and annoying. Big Time Rush did not play until 9:30, 1 1/2 hours after the assumed performance time. They only played about 45 mins, which was a little disappointing. :( However there performace was AMAZING and well worth the wait. The boys sounded incredible live and their energy was fantastic.

    boring beginning acts

by dippydippydale on 7/26/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

The beginning acts were un-known or very low known artists and you had to sit through about 5 hours of them in the 98degree weather if you didn't wanna loose your seat! Sooo that sucked.. but the main act (big time rush) was really good and they made it very enjoyable for kids teens and parents.. so all in all i guess im glad that i went! But the beginning was...really...really....boring.... D:

    Hot and not worth it!

by wasmom on 7/26/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

when the tickets said show time was 4:00, we assumed that the show would start pretty soon after that. The first act didnt come on until 5:45. We were all sitting in the sun baking and they brought out all these little teen girls that could not sing. They sang 4 songs and then complained how hot it was. Really, we had been sitting there for 2 hrs already! Big Time Rush didnt get on the stage untl 9:30! They did sing and dance and didnt complain about the heat but by that time alot of people had already left. We saw alot of little kids asleep. Not what I expected at all.

The tickets said the concert started at 4, it started at 5:30, it was 105 degrees. I had two hot young children that couldn't see a thing because all the teens were standing on the bleachers. Finally at 9:30 BTR played, we had to move to the exit area to be able to see a bit. Needless to say I was unhappy.

I thought that big time rush should have been on earlier then 9:40. There are a lot of young kids that are tired by 9:00. Big time rush was the group my 5 year old was excited about and by 9:30 she was to tired to wait.

    red, white and big rip-off

by havenoidea on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

Hind sight is always 20/20. Trust me never again. This is probably the worst concert set I have ever been too. Well maybe the Doodlebops were worse, maybe. I will never go to another concert at Worlds of Fun. I definitely will never go to Red, White and Boom or possibly anything that mix 93.3 puts on. seriously it was that bad.

    Concert event was disappointment

by jocismom on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

We took our daughters to see Big Time Rush. The doors opened at 4:00. It took about 2 hours before any performers started to sing. There were 4 opening performers who sang a couple songs each. In between each performer was radio music. The main event "Big Time Rush" didn't come on stage until 9:45. They sang about 30 minutes. We spent more time listening to radio music than actual performers. It was 106 degrees with no shade until the sun started going down. There was too much time in between each performer. Seemed like poor planning. Very disappointing day.

BTR was great, but lasted too short...

by Anonymous on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

The show started later than was suppose to start. Most of the show consisted of the DJ playing songs off of the radio which I could do myself if I was not at a concert. The main band, Big Time Rush, was great, but it took too long to get to them and then they didn't last long enough. Luckily, my teenage daughter was still thrilled to see BTR.

While I really enjoyed Big Time Rush, I did not enjoy the other opening acts or the fact that there was not a specific time for any of the performances given. The tickets and the information online stated that the concert was to start at 4:00, but the first act did not go on stage until over an hour and a half after that. I understand that it is nearly impossible to be completely on schedule; none of the many concerts I have gone to have every been on schedule, but there was too much waiting, especially since it was extremely hot that day. There was also too much time in between acts. Since I did not go to the concert to see the other acts and was not informed that there would be very large breaks in between performances with BTR not being on stage until 5 and a half hours after the time advertised, I was not at all happy with the long wait. Even though it is supposed to be similar to a festival, an estimated time of the performances should be given. If I had known that I would be waiting that long I would have stayed in the park until much closer to the time BTR was to be on stage. Furthermore, I was sitting in the back row of the bleaches and had the event staff tell me to not stand on the benches multiple times. However, due to the fact that no one was making the crowd in the front or middle do the same we were unable to see the stage without standing on the bleaches. I might be wrong, but it did not appear that any of the staff were making a huge effort to enforce the no-standing-on-bleachers rule to anyone but people in the back. This was also an annoying frustration on top of the long wait.

10 Year old girl let down....

by madinkc on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

It was REALLY hot on Saturday, which we knew ahead of time. In my opinion it took WAY too long between acts to set up the stage, which made it worse. My husband was ready to go up and ask if they needed help to make the stage change go quicker. I have never seen such a thing, and I will not be attending another concert at Worlds of Fun. My husband and I are still REALLY upset about the whole situation. We feel as if we let out daughter down. We went specifically to see Big Time Rush, my daughters favorite, and were so disgusted by 9:00 p.m. when Shontelle was just taking the stage that we left before getting to see Big Time Rush. The entire concert was a suprise for her as she thought we were going to see Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang sing and dance. Once she finally realized that we were there to see Big Time Rush she was SOOOO excited. After setting in the scorching heat for 5 hours, drinking water at $5.00 a bottle, or hot water out of the tap we were completely sick to our stomaches and could not stand it anymore and left with out heads hung low because it seemed that the way the evening was going so far, it was going to be another 2 hours before Big Time Rush hit the stage. I will tell everyone how poorly this entire thing was put together.

    Red, White and BUST!

by gmhazell on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

First off lets start by saying it was 104 degrees.....With an EXTREME heat advisory! Then the tickets say it started at 4:00pm. The line up sucked.....first act didn't come on until 5:45 and was done by 6:00. After sitting in the extreme heat for 2 hrs 45 min and seeing one act we left. I was told that BTR wasn't even scheduled to come on until 8:50p. This was something IMPORTANT to add to the ticket listing. I was sitting next to a lady and her 9 yr old who had diabetes and drove 6 hrs just to come to the concert (that started at 4). I think they too had left when we did since her daughter had a medical condition that prevented her from getting over heated. Oh you could buy water for $4 (20oz )to $5 (1L) to sit in the unbareable heat for 4 hrs and 50 min to see BTR. Give me a break! I bought myself and my 4 daughters tickets for nothing. They would have rather been at the hotel pool swimming and thats where we ended up., missing all but the first act( 4 songs). Waste of money!

    Big Time Rush was awesome!

by Allstar1234 on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

This was our first Worlds of Fun concert experience so we didn't really know what to expect. My husband and I took our 6 year old son and my brother and his wife took their 5 and 8 year old sons. My sister in law and I went early to get good seats, we purchased tickets (to the show only) online with 93.3 and were not aware of needing a park pass to be admitted. We purchased passes and went on in. We waited in line for 45 minutes to get in to the concert area to try and get good seats. When we got in, it was so humid and we were not aware of the shows starting so late. We did not know Big Time Rush would start after 9pm. If we would have known what we know now, we would have waited to see them in concert. Since it was our boys first concert and they were very excited to see BTR we bit the bullet and stayed plus paid the park entrance fee. We had never heard of the other artists so we went and rode a few rides then came back to sit on the hill. The BTR concert was awesome, would definitely see these guys again but not at Worlds of Fun.

    Pathetic

by aprilmcl on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

We were there to see the headliner, Big Time Rush. They made the children wait out in that 100+ degree heat for far too long. The kids were so tired & hot. They just wanted to see their idols, who, when they finally came out, never even thanked them for being so patient. Before they finally came on stage, I went to security & asked how much longer. I told him my kids couldn't wait much longer. They were fading fast. Security said, "They are starting now. We are pushing them on stage. We aren't waiting on them any longer." The security guy was pissed. Obviously, the divas didn't want to come out in the heat. So instead, they let their fans sit in it for longer than they had to. I was so disappointed in this band & the way they conducted themselves. I've taken kids to many concerts. Performers have to be intelligent. You aren't just performing for the kids. You had better please the parents too. We know what's right & wrong. We know how you should be behaving. And we aren't as forgiving as eight & ten year olds. And my pocketbook is much larger. So see ya' BTR. No more CDs, itunes, posters, etc in our household. You blew it. One star only because I had to give you a star.

    Red, White, and BOMB!!

by Anonymous on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

We waited for over 6 hours for BTR to play for 45min. This event did not seem to be planned very well!! I suggest posting the times when each band is going to perform and to have food and beverages better prepared!!

Red white and boom was a bust!

by KcgirlRoxsox on 7/25/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

This was very poorly executed! The band was really late getting started ao the fireworks were going off during the performance!! And the fireworks were going off behind the concert so we couldnt even ser them!! Plus the opening bands were unimpressive!!! 93.3 and WOF did a bad job this year!! Big Time Rush was great though!!
