About

Based out of Portland, Oregon, Red Fang captures the loud and fast, anything-goes spirit of classic rock with their heavy stoner-influenced jams. The quartet, consisting of Bryan Giles, Aaron Beam, David Sullivan, and John Sherman, makes guitars the focus of their gimmick-free brand of driving rock & roll, eschewing any prog leanings and putting the emphasis on the riffs. The sound is tied together by a sense of punk urgency which spurs the stoner jams into action and gets the songs moving at a raucous gallop. The band made their debut in 2009 with a self-titled album, released by Sargent House. For their follow-up, the band struck up an unlikely partnership, heading into the studio with producer and multi-instrumentalist for the Decemberists, Chris Funk. The move would pay off for the band, who would release their second album, Murder the Mountains, on Relapse in 2011. ~ Gregory Heaney, Rovi

    show of the year

This was incredible, first the awesome opening acts, especially Cancer Bats, covering Beatie Boys, then Red Fang completely blew our minds. Well picked set, they played a lot of stuff from their second and last album, then closed with a couple of songs from their first record and of course Prehistoric Dog! Great show overall, the place wasn't too crowded, and you could hear everything clearly.

    RED FANG - REAL ROCK

    by btuk00 on 12/18/13Shelter - Detroit

ALl I can say s with the onslaught of radio rock and the crap that gets played on our radio stations, RED FAND was a refreshing change. The entire show was amazing from Cancer Bats - who were totally in your face and had a sound like no other to the AMAZING Red Fang - Red Fang is a tribute to what road driven, gritty, smash mouth, beer drinking rock n roll is all about. There is no sugar coating this show was PHENOMINAL

These guys put on some of the funnest shows I have ever been to. Nicest guys in Metal. I've always had a great time every time I see them.

    RED FANG!!!

by crazyrobotman on 11/13/12Bowery Ballroom - New York

Opening with Hank Is Dead makes the rest of the show a tough act to follow. Red Fang were easily able to follow up with sufficient power. While there were a few lulls in the power that they were emitting (hence the reason for 4 and not 5 stars) they put together a fantastic energetic performance that left the crowd wanting more. So they gave it to the crowd with an encore. Great show.

    This show was fabulous!

The original opening act (Indian Handcrafts) dropped the ball on getting their Visas proper to visit our lovely country... Boy, did they drop the ball on that one!!! Their replacement was a band called "Lord Dying" from Portland, ORE. And boy, they DID NOT disappoint! Black Tusk stole the show with the performance of the night! They destroyed from first to last note, no interruptions, and NO bullshit! Red Fang was awesome! They played like you hear them on the record, tight as a tiger! Definitely worth the price of the tickets!! Ha-Ha, jabbing ya'll at ticketmaster!
