  • Thank you Gem Theater and Ticketmaster

What a fine concert! Ramsey Lewis and his combo/band were classy virtuosos. This concert was well worth the money (way less than $100 for both tickets!!), and the seats were great. Songstress Ida McBeth was also a treat.

  • Amazing set of musicians

Incredible set of musicians, everyone amazing. Played old standards and wonderful solos.

  • by Anonymous on 1/17/17Gem Theater - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was amazing! Ramsey made the crowd a part of the music and really played to the make-up of the group. The musicians had everyone on their feet begging for more. The talent of the musicians was unbelievable! Ramsey graciously made sure that every musician was featured at least twice during the concert so the listeners could see the influence each played in the makeup of the music. Want more!! Mr. Lewis's talent at the piano rivals that of anyone. The nuances and feeling he can produce from the keys is stunning.

The show started on time, the adult crowd and atmosphere was excellent. He did an outstanding performance. He allowed the other band members to do solo's to promote their talents.

  • Ramsey Lewis - a GREAT concert

by Jean414 on 2/29/16Potowatomi Casino - Northern Lights Theater - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

I was enthralled all evening. Almost 2 hour concert and the man is 80 yrs old and didn't look the least bit fatigued at the end - looked like he could keep going for another 2 hours! The musicians accompanying him NEVER overpowered his playing which is a sign of good musicians. He played jazz, some gospel, he is very personable and gave commentary periodically throughout the evening. You can tell he still very much enjoys performing and being on stage. I am SO grateful I was able to see him in concert.

One of the best concerts I've ever been to. The Ramsey Lewis quartet played beautiful music. They were so smooth you felt like you were along for a smooth ride.

It was a memorable evening, John Pizzarelli did great with Nat King Cole . And of course Ramsey Lewis took the bouquet, he is always will be the best in my book.

  • Lewis and Pizzarelli play Nat Cole. Unforgettable"

by Bateswriter on 4/15/14Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

My dad taught me to dance to Nat Cole and later, listening to Ramsey Lewis became my own personal background sound. So for me the concert was a "perfect storm", albeit a good one. Matching Lewis with John Pizzarelli is magic, for their artistic styles complement each other resulting in a lovely memorable evening of music. Now I wish they would release a CD of the tour "songbook".

  • Ramsey Lewis

by idratherbeboating on 8/17/13Chene Park - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

Too much Dee Dee Bridgewater and not enough Ramsey Lewis. Ramsey maybe played 4 complete songs. He played parts of many in what you might call a compendium. This is a shame since he is one of the great legends of jazz and maybe the greatest jazz pianist ever. Dee Dee Bridgewater, on the other hand seemed to be the focus of more than half the show. While she is talented and has a very good voice for certain kinds of songs, (unfortunately not for others), she wasn't who I was paying my money to see. She is the secondary person on the bill board not the primary.

  • Ramsey Lewis -- Fair!

by MartyRae on 10/23/12Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 2 out of 5

It was not what I expected. I thought it moved too slow and Ramsey chose to play almost classical rather than the majority of the popular "jazz" tunes. Smallest crowd I have ever witnessed at the Birchmere...which said something too. My rating, fair and almost poor!!
