This was our first time attending the Raleigh Bell Ringers and their performance was fantastic!!
This was a great show at a great venue. The venue was just the right size for this type of show. The seat and sounds were awesome. The Raleigh Ringers were entertaining. They even played some TSO tunes, which was a real treat.
This was the sixth concert I have attended by the Raleigh Ringers, but unfortunately, it will also be my last. While I understand the Director, David Harris, has to ad lib some between songs to allow the performers to reset, he talked so long between the songs in this concert that it completely killed the flow of the program. This was also the case during the last concert I attended, but I decided to give them another chance. It's unfortunate.
Best performance and versatility of handbells. Serious, fun and great way to welcome the season. Don’t miss.
GREAT SHOW WE LOVE IT. would go again to see. a must see
I love hearing the Raleigh Ringers, they put on a great show and were very entertaining as usual. I would have rated them 5 stars if there had been more holiday numbers.
Not only are they talented musicians, they put on quite an entertaining performance.
Enjoyed the sounds of the musical bells and performance was super. Did not enjoy the narrator talking between each song and the long explanations given between music. It was interruptive of enjoying the performance and thought it was rather a distraction from really getting into the flow and rhythm of the music. Instead it would be nice to have a booklet to follow along in knowing what song was coming next and by what composer. Also think it would be nice to have more of a twinkling of lights in the background during the show instead of having to focus on the performers through out the entire performance. Although talented, it is rather boring to look at the performers for so long (sorry).
Went for my wife and enjoyed it - first time at a handbell concert and it is amazing the sounds they can produce including percussion
This is a yearly tradition for my husband and I. It's just not the holidays if we haven't seen the Raleigh Ringers at Meymandi!
Saw this show on PBS and Love it. So had to see in person and was it ever great. Want to go again next year!!
The Raleigh Ringers never let an audience down. It was an enjoyable evening with some surprises. They are are fun and you walk away learning something new each time.
RR did gave another awesome performance for us to remember just before they head off on their Eoropean tour. Look out France and UK; you've got a wonderful show coming your way!
I grew up in Nebraska, dreaming of seeing the Raleigh Ringers someday. As a ringer myself, I was absolutely blown away by the talent of the group! The music selection was perfectly balanced and the performers enjoyed performing! Now I get to send extra programs home and brag to my hometown bell choir that I finally saw them! We will definitely be going to be more performances now that we live in the area!
The show was comprised of a variety of styles of music both holiday and secular, The conductor made the show entertaining above and beyond the beautiful music. A wonderful addition to holiday traditions for the whole family.
The Raleigh Ringers are a great orchestra of sound . The bells are magical and really bring in the season. We loved them. I think the intermission was a little long and not necessary. On another note, I would recommend getting your tickets local to save money. Ticketmasters has a very high mark up. $20 tickets end up costing $30 through Ticketmasters. But the Raleigh Ringers are worth it.
Each Christmas I kick off the holiday season with a concert from The Raleigh Ringers and they never disappoint. This is an amazing handbell choir who plays beautiful music each year. It wouldn't seem like Christmas without them!
Absolutely phenomenal concert. You are dead or a true Scrooge if this didn't put you in the Christmas Spirit.
They did it again. Interesting repertoire, wonderful presentation. Lots of fun and touching moments as well. Greensleeves was slightly disappointing. Use of the alumni for several pieces was very special. Raleigh Rockers was fun and I'd like to see more of them. Complex and difficult pieces. Lots of variety which is nice. Ode to Joy almost made me cry. Done perfectly. Loved the extra tunes from Transiberian Orchestra.
The Raleigh Ringers put on an amazing show every year. The quality of their music and performance is unprecedented! This show is an annual tradition for me and my friends. You can go every year and always find something new to love, along with a lot of favorites.
