This event was a charity event/celebration of a nonprofit and it was never promoted as this. It was marketed as a comedy/music show. Rainn Wilson didn’t even perform. He just emceed it. My fiancé and I were completely disappointed and felt like we were tricked into attending.
I expected more from the show. There was a kids entertainer and an interview with a lawyer. Hardly the night I thought would be filled with music and comedy. The best part was Joel Mchale. Im glad it was for a good cause but the line up couldve been better and less advertising for the foundation.
Maybe 10% Rainn, 50% friends, 40% details about the benefactor. Should at least be called The friends of Rainn Wilson.
So much fun! An evening of laughter, artistry and heart. The only misstep happened when Jack Lenz’s youth choir was cut short. Michael Franti made up for that by calling them onstage with him.
Rainn was good, Joel was pretty funny, some of the other performances were good... Especially the stomp group. Overall the event was too long, too many speeches (even though it was for a good cause). I was bored most the time.
I wish there had been info about this show being a fundraiser for Rainn’s non profit (and that the guest star was a children’s song artist). I came for comedy and music and left after too many speeches about the importance of educating girls. As an educator myself I love the message of the non profit, but not when I’m ready to have a fun night
