Just like a tune, simple and clear!

by Lisa F on 3/6/24Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

Phoenix productions did such an excellent job with the musical! I’ve seen Ragtime on broadway with the original cast, so I was a bit scared what a local production company would do with it, but I have to say that this production was damn near close to the broadway production! The actors were incredible, with gorgeous singing voices. Mother and Tateh could have been straight from the original broadway cast. The emotion from Colehouse and Sarah was incredible. I am now looking at what other Phoenix productions I can go to! Bravo! I’m so glad I made the 1.5 hour trip to Red Bank!

There are actually no words to really describe the quality of this performance. It surpassed the best Broadway shows in terms of talent and production!!

    Ragtime revisited

by Beanie on 3/5/24Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

Good production. Having seen the original twice, there are always trepidations. Nicely done, nobody rivals Stokes and Audra, but leads were surprisingly good. Taate was outstanding, just about rivaling Peter Friedman A delightful evening of theatre!

Acoustics in Count Basie are horrible

by Great play, awful theater on 3/4/24Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

The play itself was wonderful, great casting, music, etc. but Count Basie is a terrible venue for this wonderful production. We could not understand what the talented staff was saying.

Incredible, powerful story with Star Cast!

by Lauri L on 4/7/23Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

A very relevant story for today. Ragtime captures your every emotion and delivers a mighty story in a sensitive, powerful approach. The cast is dynamic and ultra talented and the younger cast adds so much. I saw the show 4x. The sets and choreography were straight Broadway quality and effect!

    Ragtime goods and bads

by Lynn on 4/5/23Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

Oh, I love this show and I’ve seen it before. The staging was great at the theater, but the audio was pretty awful. I thought I was going deaf, and when I asked several other people, they said the same thing. We couldn’t hear the words, and that frustrated me big time from enjoying the play. In the first act, the orchestra was so loud that even if you could understand the words, you couldn’t hear the words. In the second act, luckily, the orchestra was not quite as loud, but you still couldn’t understand the words. The theater was wonderful, but I don’t know that I will ever go back because I just didn’t understand what was being voiced or sung. I have heard that other people have voiced the same concern and it’s too bad that they can’t fix up the audio and the sound system. But still, I love the play Ragtime!

    Top drawer entertainment!

by Theater Goer on 4/5/23Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

The talent, this classic revival that never grows old in a great setting and all for a reasonable price. What's not to love? But really the talent cast, large and excellent made this play as great as Broadway.

    Awesome Ragtime

by Theatre Queen on 4/4/23Fred Kavli Theatre- B of A Performing Arts Center,Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

The 5-star theatrical‘s production of “ragtime“ at the Fred Kavli theater in Thousand Oaks was stupendous. Each role was vocally and emotionally fulfilled, with a robust orchestra that served the demanding score beautifully. Well conducted, brilliantly choreographed, sensitively directed, and making the most of the classic book, lyrics, and score, made this production well worth traveling from far away to be Thousand Oaks to see
