This was my first time watching the show and it was very good. I was a bit disappointed in that there were only 22 Rockettes in the show and I know that when I have seen them on TV, there are around 50. I guess I need to go to NYC - Radio City Music Hall.
The show had a great mix of dancing and singing. The Rockettes performed their Christmas favorites - such as Soldiers Fall Down and New York . The Rockette singers performed traditional holiday shows - such as The Nutcracker and a few scenes of the birth of Jesus. The scene of the 3 Kings presenting gifts was beautifully elaborate. Why not give it 5 stars? Because I wanted more of the Rockettes!
My family really enjoyed the show. Everyone, young & old would enjoy this performance. I was disappointed that the animals were not part of this years show. Last year we were in the nose bleed section. This year we purchased tickets in the advanced ticket sale. Great seats.
What a beautiful way to begin the holiday season. It sure beats Black Friday. This perfomance was priceless!!
Having seen this production in New York, I thought it was fairly comparable. The sound system was excellent. Not all productions at Van Andel are clear. Music and scenery were outstanding. Of course, the Rockettes were unbeliveable! So perfect in their timing and movements. My favorite dance was the wooden soldiers and the way the fell back so perfectly. I would definitely go again. My granddaughter (age 16) also enjoyed it.
The Radio City Christmas Spectacular was just that,,,Spectacular! The Rockettes were amazing in their moves and the beautiful costumes! The show was a great way to start the holiday season...Love the Dancing Santas! The finale was incredible, and the best part of the show, in my humble opinion. This will be a family tradtion for years to come for my family.
My children and I loved seeing the Rockettes and the show was great! My only complaint is that the Fox booked the shows so close together that we felt rushed into the theater and hearded out like cattle aftterward. We arrived in plenty of time but had to wait on the street so my children did not really get a chance to experience "The Fox" as I had hoped they would.
WOW!!!! IS all I can say. What a way to start the Holiday season.
Sunday's noon performance of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular made us forget we skipped lunch (and church) in order to be at the Fox early, soak up the holiday cheer, and kick start the Christmas season! Santa was so convincing in character that on the drive home I began to formulate my letter to him about that GPS thingy I want him to bring me this year. The Rockettes were of course beautiful and graceful as ever.....made me re-think that lifelong dream to learn tap dance. But for me, the live nativity at the end is what I wait (and hold my breath) for. Makes me feel a lot less guilty for skipping church. ;)
I loved the show! As someone who has never seen the performance, I was truly blown away. I had no idea it would be so entertaining. I went with two of my girlfriends and our elementary school aged daughters. It was an amazing evening. The atmosphere was comfortable, the show was fantastic and the staff was very professional and helpful in getting us seated. Probably one of the best evenings I've had at the Fox!
This was a super show!! I would definately see it again! Enjoyed the music and the dancing!
Wonderful to watch! Amazing dancing and singing! My 5 year old couldn't take her eyes off the stage! I would definately recommend to other friends and family if the show returns next year!
Spectacular, even the cheap seats were excellent. We would go again in a heart beat.
My husband and I attended the Christmas Spectacular in Grand Rapids, MI and enjoyed it immensely. The dancers are so "in tune" with each other. My husband served 21 years in the service and we agree their steps were more syncronized than some of the military steps! We truly enjoy the Christmas pageant and am so glad someone is not afraid to display it or say the words, "Merry Christmas!" We did miss the real animals that were used in years passed. Keep up all your hard, but very wonderful work.
I took my daughter to this show to celebrate her 18th birthday, and she said it's absolutely the best birthday present she's ever received. From the second the curtain went up to the very end, we were smiling or laughing, thoroughly enjoying the sets, costumes, singing, acting and dancing. Everything was first class and just perfect. The stunning Rockettes costumes omplemented the top-of-their profession dancing. All of the people on stage looked like they were having fun entertaining us. The Santa scene, with hundreds of Santas, was pure magic, and the New York City tour made us feel like we were in the middle of the city. We were happy to hear the story of Jesus' birth and have that be such a big part of the show --- isn't that what Christmas is all about, after all.
I took my 5 year old daughter to the show and she was amazed (as I was). I don't think she even blinked during the whole show. It was fabulous and we had a marvelous time.
I am 51 years old and this is the first time that I've ever seen the Rockettes! I was not disappointed....what a pleasant and very entertaining couple of hours! The music was great - got me right into the holiday spirit; the dancing was SPECTACULAR, and the story of the birth of Jesus was INCREDIBLE!!! I was totally not expecting that part of the show - you know, with all the darn "political correctness" out there today. But I LOVED IT! The story was straight out of the Bible and the music and the costumes were magnificent! What a way to end a great night at the Fox! I highly recommend this show to anyone of any age!
As usual, the Christmas Spectacular, featuring the Rockettes, can't be beat! My entire family attended Sunday night-and even the rainy weather couldn't "put a damper" on our great evening!
I highly recommend Radio City Christmas Spectacular. The only thing I would change is the length of the show which was only 1.5 hrs. Most seated around us thought the ending was intermission and was disappointed to find out the show was over. Other than that - dancing, stage scenes and singing was spectacular!
The entire show was fantastic! And thank you for the wonderful FInale and reminding everyone what Christmas is all about!!! I was especially impressed that the stars of the show did not come out for a bow - credit was given all to God - Hallelujah!!
