QUEENSRYCHE IN CONCERT:

For more than three decades, progressive metal veterans Queensryche have been pushing the genre’s boundaries with their ambitious sound and electrifying performances on tour. At their staggering live shows the band takes the stage in all black, delivering powerful rock anthems like “Silent Lucidity” and “Jet City Woman” beneath a giant banner bearing their signature peregrine falcon-likeTri-Ryche logo. Former Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre joined Queensryche in 2012 and the band hasn’t missed a beat since, thrilling fans with extensive touring tirelessly and a return to the studio in 2015. Whether they’re rocking out to early favorites or playing cuts from their self-titled 2013 album, Queensryche always treats ticket buyers to an unforgettable concert experience full of potent tunes, virtuosic musicianship, and classic metal showmanship.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Queensryche formed in Bellevue, WA in 1982 from the ashes of local band The Mob. They received an early break when UK rock mag Kerrang! got wind of their demos and wrote a glowing review. The growing buzz in both the UK and the US led to impressive sales for their 1983 debut EP, and the following year the band released their debut album The Warning to a spot on the Billboard 200. Following a tour with Kiss the band released their 1986 sophomore album Rage for Order, a gold-certified outing that showcased a more polished rock sound. The band reached the pinnacle of their success in 1990 with the album Empire, which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the Top 10 rock hits “Silent Lucidity” and “Jet City Woman”. Since then Queensryche has weathered numerous lineup changes while continuing to release records and tour with metal mainstays like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. In 2012 former Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre joined Queensryche, and he continues to helm the band as they bring their distinctive brand of metal-infused power balladry to fans around the world on tour.

    Still has the voice!

by Forgiveness on 7/11/09House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic City

It felt great to be young again. Club atmosphere felt like I was on stage and Queensryche gave you that kind of attention. Very personal. Great use of video with music. Latest music has to grow on me some more. Tate still has his voice and I wished he would have used it singing more of the old stuff. Great venue.

    Queensryche @ the Nokia!!!

by Dookie71 on 7/11/09Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

I would like to consider myself a Queensryche fan. I also have not seen them in a while because some of the recent stuff has really not been my cup of tea, however I did want to see the Mindcrime tour. Every time they came to the area something was going on. So when I heard they were doing Rage for Order material, well I just had to clear my calender. If I remember correctly the show started around 9:00 and the started right off with Rage. It sounded great. My friend and I were the equivalent of 3 rows back from the stage, so they were right there. The next set consisted of material from Empire which I had not heard in a while. It was really nice to revisit this album and the band rocked. Then came the new album, American Soldier. I have to admit, when I gave it a listen in my car I was not disappointed but not really looking forward to the new stuff. About 2 songs into it though I could not wait for more. They continued to rock and bring a fresh new attitude to music I have only briefly heard. Then a girl came on stage. Some people said that this is Geoff's daughter, I don't know, but the response the crowd gave her was so intense that it made me so happy to be a part of the audience. After the show I realized that I wanted to go see them again, soooo in late July I will be seeing them at the Chance in NY. This is the second time I have underestimated a new album by them and than after hearing it live I loved it. ( the 1st being Promised Land, many people felt that this album was the start of the fall of the band but if you saw this shaow live it was awesome!!! ) I will definitely recommed seeing them live if you never have and if you have .....go see them again. They rock. !!!

    NYC show

by Ryche on 7/11/09Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

They were excellent as always. Really enjoyed hearing Rage for Order for a change. Didn't really care for the Amercian Soldier but singing "Home Again" with his daughter was a great moment.

    Awesome

by CyrTheQueer on 7/11/09Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

I took my boyfriend for his 25th birthday. It was the first time either of us had seen Queensryche live and we both had a lot of fun. The crowd was good, all Queensryche fans and not too big, and the performance had a lot of energy. Only negative thing I can say is that the American Soldier set wasn't as good as Rage for Order and Empire. All around though it was one of my favorite shows and after about 2 and a half hours of play I still didn't want it to end. Geoff Tate rocks! Can't wait to see them again.

    Queesnryche was awful and self-indulgent

by neener on 7/11/09House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic City

Let me start by saying that I have been a fan of Queensryche for twenty years, that said, the concert was awful. It was the most self-indulgent two hours where the band played three self-proclaimed "suites" of three whole albums. I firmly believe that a band should play the songs that crowd came to hear, the ones that made them successful and the same ones that ensure that the crowd (you know the ones who shelled out fifty bucks for the show) has a good time. Queensryche chose not to play their most popular songs and Geoff basically stood on the stage doing dramatic hand gestures which I guess was supposed to excite the completely bored, seated crowd.

    Never Better

    by Mongo624 on 7/11/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Geoff Tate & the other members of Queensryche have never been better. I have seen them 6 times or more now & they keep getting better. The new generation of bands should go & see this band live. Maybe they would learn something about showmanship. Tate is one the top 3 singer in the Metal genre. Along w/ Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickerson & of course Judas Priest's Rob Halford, they are the Metal's version of the three tenors. Commonly refered as the 3 Tremors. The band played3 suites of music, representing 3 different albums throughout their career. First was from their latest cd "American Soldier" where Tate interviewed war veterans from each war. WWI-Iraq, then wrote their stories into songs. Second, was from the album "Rage for Order". Last set was the album "Empire". When Queensryche comes around again, I highly recommend you go see them. You won't be disappointed.

    Classic Ryche

by Rockenfield on 7/11/09Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

Great set list. The band sounded great. Geoff's son in law filled in nicely. If you've never been to Nokia Theatre in Times Square you will not be disapointed. Great place to see a show.

    Queensryche @ Nokia

by SrockNo1Fan on 7/11/09Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

First time at Nokia in NYC; the line to get into the venue was long but moved quickly. Once in my friends and I were approached by a girl with a Nokia camera and she asked to take our picture and develop it for free while we waited at the bar. The picture came out okay and we were all given a copy which was nice. I have seen Queensryche soooo many times and this was by far one of the best shows I've ever been to. The band was so tight which was a nice surprise since they just replaced Stone with Parker. Parker fit right in. Geoff's voice sounded incredible... his range was spot on. Scott was amazing once again on the drums. Ed seemed a little tired but he always plays top notch! Whip, what can anyone say about Whip... he's the man! Another nice surprise was Geoff's daughter Emily, she is adorable and sings great!

    Queensryche

    by April65 on 7/11/09Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

We had a great time and enjoyed one of our favorite bands. We met other rockers there and met with some new friends - some of which brought their teens! All and all - the Ballroom show was fun and had a great crowd. Queensryche played all the songs we loved and some new ones we are learning to love. Geoff Tate and the boys are one class act and we would see them again - providing we can score a babysitter!

    Better than expected

by JDXPress on 7/11/09Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

I was not surprised how well the show went. I was surprised, though, how good the music sounded compared to the records. When the American Soldier set happened, the music sounded much heavier, louder and better than the mix of the album. Considering all of the "over production" on albums these days, The Ryche belted it out "old school" and everyone felt that in the crowd. I`ve seen them at least 15 times and this was in the top 3. It does help to have a sixth man on stage to help with music and vocals. Great job, Queensryche and see you next year!!

    Queensryche Awesome!

by Krock on 7/11/09House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic City

I saw the show at the "House of Blues" Atlantic City on May 16th 2009. I had a room at the Showboat reserved...it was my 38th Birthday and I was treating myself and my best-friend to an awesome AC weekend. The show was great...getting to hear a Suite of Rage for Order was my highlight of the night...especially hearing "London" live was remarkable. We stood in the Balcony the whole show (never sat in our seats). After the show (we got meet and greet passes from some cool dude in the balcony) we got to meet the Band. The guys were Awesome...especially Geoff! Best birthday I've ever had...thanks for everything! The whole AC experience was great but "The Show & Meet n Greet" were clearly The Highlight of the weekend!

    Great Concert!

by Viperez on 7/11/09Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

Queensryche was in great form! I didn't even realize it was a 3 album concert, so I was pleased to hear Rage for Order, live, in its entirety.
