It was a hot one on Saturday, but the VIP package (especially the 2fer fathers day deal) was absolutely worth it! From unlimited free drinks, including bottled water which was a lifesaver, to access to the air cinditioned locker rooms and trophy level, it was the perdect place to cool off and reenergize to eat that AMAZING KC BBQ!!! Loved being in the field!
Ease of tickets was great. Loved using the mobile tickets. Event had awesome food and drinks. Would have been nice to have had a mobile map on event. It would have helped with finding drinks. More covered seating may also have helped. the temps were very high. Loved and appreciated all the staff, Pittmasters and voulenteers. They were helpful and compasionate. Merchants might have had more stands since people like to drink eat and purchase items.
I have gone as a VIP the past three years. This year was great because of the change to grab and go and the VIP only Pit Masters. On the field was a definite WIN!! My only criticism is the time of year is so hot!! May was a little better. The VIP had no shade! The GA area had a giant tent with tables but nothing in VIP. Keep them coming every year! We will be there! Our group gets bigger every year:)
Hot, so unforgivably hot! No shade, reflection off the white tiles covering the field made it even hotter. Being down in the field stopped all air flow. Please put it back in the parking lot and get tents...and a cool off spot! Had a good time!
Great food, fast service! It was very hot and not much shade but overall good experience. Arthur Bryant’s ribs was my favorite dish. Definitely can’t leave hungry.
My family went last year and they were also disappointed. Last year, there was more room and no lines. Last year, it was worth getting the VIP Pass. This year, it was not worth it.
The only thing that would make it better is if you had some of the Chiefs there.
The BBQ fest was so much fun! HIGHLY recommend this event to everyone. We can not wait to go again next year and have friends that are jealous they did not come who will be coming next year! The food and drinks were AMAZING. Such a great time getting to try foods that we probably wouldn't normally try.
Because of the wind no umbrellas or shade was available Sat afternoon. Without the VIP this would have been a sad experience. The bbq was hit or miss most offerings were mediocre at best. The lines were short and the event was unexpectedly greatly staffed but short on participants equaling short lines. Water was easiest to find and cold. We visited with children and the activities were very hot and low in offerings.
It was a long walk down to the field, being ADA. I thought it was a BBQ not a liquor store. The food was good but it was so hot. I had to ask for a ride when I left the stadium floor.
