About

Alternative rockers Puddle of Mudd have earned an army of dedicated fans with a slew of No. 1 hits like "Blurry," "She Hates Me" and "Away from Me," Most fans who are lucky enough to get a ticket to a Puddle of Mudd concert find that the lead singer-guitarist, Wesley Scantlin, has a commanding stage presence and a powerful voice. Though the band has not released an album since 2011, Puddle of Mudd continues to tour, singing its most popular hits to die-hard, dedicated fans.

The band's roots are in Kansas City, Missouri, where they began playing together in 1991. However, their first studio album, Abrasive, was not released until 1997. This album was so limited in its release, though, that many of the songs were re-released on the next album, 2001's Come Clean. Popular singles from this album included "Control," "She Hates Me," "Blurry" and "Drift & Die," which helped Come Clean sell over five million copies and reach No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart. Their next album was 2003's Life on Display, which reached No. 20 on the Billboard 200 and featured the hits "Away from Me," "Spin You Around" and "Heel Over Head." The 2006 follow-up, Famous, includes hit singles Psycho and the title track. In 2009, Puddle of Mudd released Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love and Hate, an album that featured songs "Stoned" and "Spaceship". In 2011, the band members released a cover album, Re:(disc)overed, and also announced that they were continuing to write more original songs to release in a future album.

As close as you want to be!

by rattlover on 4/2/10Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

Really enjoyed the show last night. The Veer Union was great. Lead singer Chris worked the crowd. Burn Halo was awesome. I had one song on my ipod, now I'm a fan of the band. What I liked about these two bands is they did the meet and greet after their shows. Very friendly and took their time talking to everyone. Fireball Ministry looked like they needed a bath and a shave. Not a fan of them. Puddle of Mudd was great. The crowd increased as they took the stage but you could still get as close as you wanted. Played all the songs we know and kept the energy going till the end. Would definitely see them again. The Grove is my favorite venue for the way it is set up for the crowd.

    POM AWESOME

by S1O7LVN on 4/2/10Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

I was very impressed with all the bands. POM gave an excellent show. They had high energy and great music. They were everything my friend said they'd be,(I got the tickets for her, my BFF). AS for the opening band I believe Veer union was as good as any band I hear on the radio today. I'd buy their CD. They had superb stage presence, high energy and great musical talent, I could understand their lyrics and was glad I came early so I could see this band. the other two were good, with Burn Halo being a touch more. Again energy level fantastic and stage presence excellent. FIRE Ministry had a few good songs. Overall there was no energy and the lead singers voice gave me a headache. Maybe the tone or raspy effect. Overall it was a great event and anyone who likes music like POM would be encouraged to attend. Thanks for the memories.

    Not the old POM

by leensstr on 3/8/10First Avenue - Minneapolis

Saw Puddle of Mudd back in '02 in Montreal and they were awesome. Not the case this time. I didn't come to hear them play AD/DC, Steve Miller Band or even that stupid summer loving song from Grease (C'mon! Seriously!) Wes's vocals didn't seem to be where they used to be either. Half the time it sounded like he was speaking the words, not singing them. We left before it was over. Cavo was actually pretty cool.

The show was awesome from begging to end. Silverstone was a great opener that i hope will hit it big. Cavo was great. Puddle of Mudd was amazing. You could tell from the moment they walked on stage that they wanted to be there. they also do some great cover songs. and of course everyone in the Minnesota area should try to see a show at first ave. its truly an amazing venue.

    Puddle of Mudd kicked ass

    by Becky31 on 2/16/10First Avenue - Minneapolis

This was an awesome show Puddle of Mudd was so great I wish I could have met them but I had to leave right when the show was done. I thought it was great they were willing to stay and hang out and sign people's stuff. My only complaint was how long it took in between bands it seemed alot longer then other shows I have went to. But they made up for it when they got onstage. :)

by Anonymous on 2/15/10First Avenue - Minneapolis

The small setting was great they came out strong with control and never stopped. Looked as if they were having as much fun as I and the audience was. Would go again if they come back. Super show.

roll in the puddle and play

by cavemank on 2/15/10First Avenue - Minneapolis

Even though yes first ave. is a small venue it doesnt take away from the showmanship or the down right awesome music that was played last night. The overall mood of the bands were upbeat and positive and really the sillyness of puddles lead singer was almost memorable. Recomandation if you can see them when they come back do it.

    POM rocked

by Topofthestairs on 2/15/10First Avenue - Minneapolis

I thought the time between bands was too long. On the other hand, POM was worth the wait. They rocked the place with their first two tunes and kept the pace virtually throughout their set. A very nice cover of TNT was a hit too. They seemed to be having as much fun as we were. I would see them again in a heartbeat.

PoM was great, some voice problems tho...

by dutchbrown on 2/15/10First Avenue - Minneapolis

Great show, although lead singer had some voice issues, had to drop down an octave on some parts because he couldn't seem to hit the high notes. Did a great job with it, didn't sound awkward or anything... just an observation. Hopefully it was just a cold or something similar and he's over it soon. They do put on a great show every time I see them.

    puddle of mudd

by scottish11 on 12/16/09House of Blues Orlando - Orlando

The venue was great which gave the up close and personal feeling. The band were very good live, opened up the gig with the song Famous, which got the crowd rocking right away, Credit must be given to the lead singer Wes Scantlin who peformed with a leg cast on which obviously limited his movement on stage. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the band played a few cover songs, maybe this was for the part tourist crowd, but Puddle of Mudd could have played more songs from there own collection. Overal I would recommend this band to go and see.

Puddle of Mud Rocked the House!!!

by Busycyd on 12/9/09House of Blues Orlando - Orlando

Puddle of Mud rocked the house on Sunday Dec. 6th at the House of Blues, Orlando. Wes was awesome, even with a broken foot. He had to have been in a tremendous amount of pain, but he didn't let it show. He gave the audience an outstanding performance.

Puddle of Mudd w/ Stereoside Rocked

by ocpms1 on 12/7/09House of Blues Orlando - Orlando

Stereoside is the best "unknown" band out there. They blow the doors off many many big rock bands now. Wish we could have seen a little more of them. Puddle of Mudd was great. Their set was a little short too.

by 4theluvof on 10/5/09End of the Summer Series Fairplex - Pomona

Wow........these guys were awesome. We went specifically to see PoM and while they set on a short time frame, they blew the audience away. What a show. Their songlist was of favorites and they can jam with the best! Love you Puddle of Mudd~~!

Wes and band were the best ever!

by JeansPhx on 9/19/09The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I have seen POM about 6 times. But this was probably their best show ever. I was way up in the front and rocking out. As usual, Wes got up close and personal with the audience. You feel like you know him and he is just some guy from down the street. Very down to earth and very cool. Can't wait for their next concert.

    CANDLEBOX was AWESOME!

by CincyGreg on 9/15/09Military Park - Indianapolis

I traveled from Cincy to see Candlebox and they did not disappoint me. Kevin's pipes are sick!. Puddle of Mudd made me a believer too. The only negative was the cramped seating in the VIP section. The chairs were too closely tied to another.

Puddle of Mudd Rocked it at the Hard Rock!

by Buffgirl73 on 9/13/09The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The venue is second to none in my opinion. I'm sure there are better places for sound quality and comfort but personally you couldn't get a cooler location than poolside at the Hard Rock in Vegas on a very warm September evening. The atmosphere was great and the band were pretty tight. I'm not a die hard fan but this has definitely pushed them up in my estimation. They played all the classics and a great rendition of AC/DC's TNT. A fabulous night with great company. Can't wait till we're there next year and hope another group will be playing as well.
