About

PUBLIC ENEMY IN CONCERT:

Hip hop pioneers and modern day rap legends Public Enemy are still bringing the noise, nearly three decades after establishing themselves as "Public Enemy No. 1" with their 1987 debut single. Flavor Flav and crew had game then and they got game now, keeping classic rap alive as they continue to 'scream vocal javelins' at the right enemies and innovate on the one's and two's. Following their 2013 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Public Enemy will "Fight the Power" on their 2014 tour dates, including a highly anticipated appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Where would the rap game be without the power and profundity of Long Island's Public Enemy? Formed in the early '80s by MC Chuck D and his irascible hype-man Flavor Flav, the group set out to add a political message to the aggressive style of hip hop made famous by Run DMC. Joined by MC Professor Griff and DJ Terminator X, Public Enemy ascended to astronomical heights with 1988 sophomore album It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. The record, anchored by the single "Don't Believe the Hype" became the first hip hop album to gain mainstream recognition, landing at No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The rest is history.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Hands down top 3 hip hop shows I have ever seen! AWESOME!"

"Excellent concert! High energy and Public Enemy KILLED IT!

"That was a great show to be able to watch, I love that hip hop is alive and well...Chuck D is an amazing MC, the way he hosted the show and showed the local talent so much love was one of the best feeling I got this year at a show."

    Old School still rules!

by PurpleJen on 1/21/15Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

The concert was amazing! I thought it was professionally done. The show started on time and there were no delays in between the various acts. I enjoyed MC Lyte, Big Daddy Kane, Public Enemy and KRS-1 the most. We sat in the upper decks but there didn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. The view was good plus there were 2 very large screens on either side of the stage.

    Hip Hop all day

by Sylk1969 on 1/21/15Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

All Hail to hip hop all day because that's where i'm from old school. I was very happy and proud to see all the performances. Mc Lyte my girl did her thing brought back a lot of memories. Kane held it down he still got it. Public Enemy had a lot of energy but it died down a lil which is fine. they have nothing else to prove. KRS one as always hit it on the spot The philosopher. I think he needed more time. Naughty should of turned the music down some couldn't hear the lyrics clear. Overall I would do it all over again. Hip Hop Lives

    STRAIGHT FIRE

by meeek on 1/21/15Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

this show was exciting from beginning to end all the legends in the building at the same time. It was really history and great to see that they all looked the same a gave a fantastic show...I can't even name just 1 because all performers tore the stage up and gave us what we paid for a nonstop shouting begging for more performance and if they did it again I would surely come back to support.

by DeanGeronimo on 1/21/15Boardwalk Hall - Atlantic City

an outstanding time was had by all at the All-Stars of Hip-Hop held Sunday 18 January 2015. Each performer took the stage with much energy and enthusiasm. Took us back to the GOLDEN ERA of Hip-Hop when artists had something to say. Had a great time, and will be in the house for the next All-Stars event, Lord willing.
