    PBR... Eh, okay.

by Ayzee0202 on 1/24/11Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard - Bridgeport

I recently went to the PBR at Madison Square Garden in NYC, and it was amazing! It was huge, and so much fun. I thought this would be good, even though it was only the pro riders, and from what I understand, the one I saw at MSG was a step above. Well, the entertainer clown was not really funny. At MSG, there were screen set up, effects, explosions... this didn't have any. So, bottom live, if you have never been to a PBR, go, it is still a great experience. I just wasn't tickled bu this one in particular.

The show was really short and not worth the money. I was expecting it to be a lot better, honestly!

    Awsome energy!

by Mudslinger74 on 1/24/11Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard - Bridgeport

2nd time to the PBR event at bridgeport. This was better than the first time last year. Lots of action, and the bulls were kickin butt! This event was a fun event for all, we took 5 kids and 6 adults, everyone had a good time....even the 3 year olds! Even my girlfriend was sceptical about going because she had never been to a bull riding event before and she had an awsome time! I will go to this event everytime it comes around!

Disappointing for a real bull riding fan

by MadMarmot on 1/24/11Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard - Bridgeport

Bull Riding doesn't come to Connecticut very often, so I bought my seats as soon as I saw the PBR was returning to Harbor Yard Arena. I realize that the "pro tour" is not going to be of the same caliber as the Ford Built Tough and I had attended the "minor league" PBR there back in Jan 2009. That wasn't great, but it was fun and the quality of the rides was enough to make us want to attend again. This evening was a tremendous disappointment -- the vast majority of the riders looked like it was their first time on a bull, and the number of complete rides was surprisingly low. While a few bulls were quite good, the majority were only average -- in spite of this we had very few rides over 4 seconds, and a surprising number that couldn't even stay on for 2. They kept referring to this as an "invitational" -- we kept wondering if that meant they had wandered down to a local bar and asked some guys if they wanted to try riding a bull! The pace of the event was unbearably slow as the time between rides dragged on and on. The sound system was garbled and the monitors in the arena are pitifully small -- combined with a small ring and the online seating chart that was vague about how the arena would be set up, we ended up with tickets that seemed pretty far from the action given the price. The energy and excitement of REAL Professional Bull Riding was completely absent. Based on my experience, my advice is to pass on the "minor league" PBR and wait for the opportunity to attend a Ford Built Tough level event, not an event that over charges you for something the pretends to be professional bull riding.

Lets bring it up a knotch!!!

by Anonymous on 1/24/11Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard - Bridgeport

The riders did their job and put on a great show. Raise up the excitement and talk about how tough the bulls are. The MC and mostly the head clown needs to put on a better show. A lot of "dead air" more talk, tone down main lights add more "show" lights maybe a couple of fun acts, free gifts(t-shirts foam balls) and more fan participation or games to fill up this "dead air " time. If it cost more then I'll pay more. Over all it was a good time.

    Too Short!

by luvbulls on 1/24/11Sovereign Center - Reading

I love bull riding and have been to several PBR events this is the first time I didn't get to see enough bull riding. It could have been my mistake but I thought there were going to be a bigger event, especially since I paid $50 per ticket and drove up from Maryland. I guess the next time I have to do more research. Not much audience attending either.

    Most Disappointing

by Brumbachs4God on 1/24/11Sovereign Center of Performing Arts - Reading

Why you would place Professional in front of these bull riders? This was the most disappointing event I have ever attended. Out of 60 riders only 3 stayed on the bull for more than 1 second, some seemed to have jumped off as soon as the gate opened. I thought PBR was a professional and legitimate rodeo but now I would second guess ever going to another PBR event. In today's economy when you spend $100 on an event you do expect to be entertained. We attended the State Fair and only paid half the price and saw better home town riders. :( Thank for your time!

    EXCELLENT SHOW!

    by pbrfan39 on 1/23/11Sovereign Center - Reading

Although poorly advertised, this event was FANTASTIC! Robbie the Clown did an incredible job keeping everyone laughing despite a few tense moments in the chute. Great crowd interaction, great bulls - we had a fantastic time. A bit disappointed not to see some bigger names there, but I assume they didn't need the points. I hope Saturday night had a larger turnout. PLEASE bring this event back to the Sovereign Center in Reading, PA!!

I was hoping for more 8 Second Rides

by sprunch on 1/12/11Van Andel Arena - Grand Rapids

It was an exciting event, but I was hoping for more 8 second rides. The cowboys gave it their all, but the bulls were not giving up. I was really hoping the 1st female rider was going to make it to the short round, but it just wasn't her night. It was all in all a fun event and I hope to see them again next year.

    Adrenaline-pumping action!

by rahn on 1/10/11Van Andel Arena - Grand Rapids

Very exciting action. The cowboys face real danger and the bulls are the usual victors in these match-ups between man and muscle.

    PBR bullriding

by major8181 on 1/10/11Van Andel Arena - Grand Rapids

I was very unhappy with the show. I have been to several PBR's including Vegas,Thisshow was very misleading. You think you are paying to see Prof. Bull riders and they seemed amateur. I wish the prices for the tickets would have been based on this. You are not getting the whole PBR effect but your paying the same price.

    PBR in GR

by JDSkeeTWN on 1/10/11Van Andel Arena - Grand Rapids

The event was okay. The tickets I purchased were in the nosebleed section and when we arrived, there was a line-up by the usher. She was giving replacement tickets and sent us to the lower level right next to all the action. That was cool. The arena floor was half what I was expecting. I've been to the PBR before and it seemed alot more crowded (well attended) and alot bigger, with the entire arena floor being covered. I'm not sure if the bulls were that hard too ride or if the PBR brought along the JV squad of cowboys. There were only 3 riders to make 8-second rides (1 did it twice and he was the "feature rider"). I was disapointed with the lack of enthusiasm from the crowd. The "clown" who was supposed to be there to entertain between rides did little more than make himself sound and look like a jackass (he literally put a horse-head on). Telling jokes about religion, women, politics, and booze. He did a very good job of establishing his own religious and political beliefs, which in my opinion had nothing to do with bull riding. He did little more than fill the quiet between horns. I think if I ever go to a PBR event again it'll be where the riders, entertainers, and audience gives a hoot about what's going on. Oh, and the PBR could do better at defining when "the end" is here. It was like,"Well that's it. Thanks for your money. I mean thanks for coming."

This PBR experience was WAY better than when I saw it in Saginaw last year! The seats I snagged were almost perfect. I would definitely go back if PBR came back in the future!
