When I first heard about the screenplay being adapted into a musical I was ecstatic. The production itself held true to my expectations and framed the characters, themes, and humor of the screenplay into a totally new and exciting way. The entire time I was watching I was floored by the technical aspect of the show - a whole bus on stage that lights up with different patterns, images, and scenes; cannons filled with glitter; flying divas; intense costumes and fast changes; fabulous lighting, colors, etc.
We had a wonderful time at the show but we would have enjoyed it more if there was more character development and less "over the top" scenes. We wanted to learn more about the main characters.
Fabulous costumes, amazing props, fantastic writing and acting. From tears to laugh-out-loud comedy, this show does not disappoint. Loved it, loved it, loved it!
What a wonderful play fun all the way. The costumes should definitely win some awards and for a long play the time flew by. If you are looking for some great laughs and wonderful music this is a winner. I nominate this one for best musical.
The show takes the better parts of the movie and packages them up nicely. It is funny and sweet but most of all, visually stunning. Highly recommend for a fun night on Broadway.
You'll be tapping your foot and lip syncing along the whole time. Parts of the story are touching and heartwarming, and others are just plain campy fun. The costumes and set are dazzling and your eyes are in for a magical, colorful, over-the-top gay feast.
A complete blast. loved every sparkle-music is tremendous fun and the costumes are to die!
rent the movie you'll have a much better time. Tony Shelton is the best thing in the show and he's still not as good as Terrance Stamp was.
Priscilla - Queen of the Desert was ABSOLUTELY FAB! The music was so upbeat it was hard to stay seated, and the costumes were great.
Priscilla is a wild ride. The music is up-lifting. 100% feel good guaranty!
Big fun, all night. Time flew. Fantastical costumes. Groovin' to the oldies. Nice scenery on stage, if you know what I mean... Be sure to get a boa in the lobby before the show. :-)
Priscilla was amazing. Worth recommending. Music was fun and fabulous....
You must go..bring tissues .. you will laugh until you cry!!!!
Wonderful musical Great music If you loved the movie rush there
We saw Priscilla in Toronto last fall and had a great time. It was the most fun we'd had at a show since Mamma Mia. Similiar experience. We'll definitely see it again when we can get to NYC! I'm sure it will be there for a long run...you're going to love it!
I was fortunate enough to see Priscilla in London back in October, 2010. I have seen many, many musicals and plays in NYC. I travel to New York twice a year just to see Broadway shows. Priscilla was the VERY BEST musical I have ever seen. The music, set, costumes and actors were all amazing. I would highly recommend seeing this as soon as possible. I can not believe the tickets are being discounted. Once the word gets out on how Wonderful this show is, I'm sure it will stay booked for a long time.
I saw Priscilla in London last week - it's one of those experiences you don't want to see end - the music, the costumes, the sets, the story - everything was great - it was hard to sit still - you wanted to get up and dance - this show will run for years
I saw it in London and I cannot wait for it to arrive in the states. My friend had to 'drag' (excuse the pun) because I really didn't think I wanted to see it; I liked the movie, but a musical?? IT WAS FABULOUS!!! I wanted to go again the next day...and then again...but had to fly back to the states. i can't WAIT to get to NY and see it ''the American Way'.I've already started laughing!!
