    Always a great performance

by Bob L on 7/6/22Martha's Vineyard Performing Arts Center - Oak Bluffs

This was the third or fourth time I’ve heard the band but the first time not in New Orleans. Ben Jaffe has done a marvelous job in bringing together outstanding musical performers and keeping the New Orleans musical traditions alive. Hopefully they’ll be around for another couple of generations

    So many special guests!

by thepamrusso on 5/10/22Orpheum Theater - New Orleans

Preservation Hall performances are always fun, but this 60th anniversary show at the Orpheum in New Orleans during Jazz Fest was one of their best. Everyone came out to celebrate - Irma Thomas, Trombone Shorty, Nathaniel Rateliff and David Shaw to name just a few. Everyone was in a celebratory mood and the music flowed for the celebration for a great cause.

    Stone cold fangirl

by Levon’s Mama on 5/10/22Orpheum Theater - New Orleans

While the night was a blast, and we had an amazing time, it broke my heart to think that in all of New Orleans they couldn’t find some fantastic women horn 🎺 or guitar 🎸 players? Come on fellas 🌭. 🤬 Unacceptable. Nate Rateliff brought the party! And watching him dance with the boyz was too cute. Big Freeda was a treat, and her highness Irma Thomas is a Queen. Great venue, and a wonderful evening overall -we loved the opportunity to dress up and strut our fancy selves after smelling like horses at the track all day. 😏

What? No Trombone Shorty or Preservation Hall Jazz Band?!

by Donald on 12/25/21House of Blues New Orleans - New Orleans

Not a single word why Trombone Shorty, the headliner, was a no show. Or, how about Preservation Hall Jazz Band, who was also a no show! And we flew in from Los Angeles for this gig. In such a musical city there's were options galore for replacements for these two bands. Covid 19 was the rumor, but replacements should have been sought out.

    AMAZING concert!

by Karen on 1/6/20The Fillmore - San Francisco

I'm a super fan of New Orleans music, and we've attended PHJB concerts in and out of NOLA for 30+ years. But I was completely blown away by this New Years Eve concert. The musicians were FABULOUS! It was like stepping our of your home in NOLA & running smack into a Brass Band Parade or second line! What a great way to start the year out. Please pass on my THANKS. ❤️🥳🙏

by Grace on 10/27/19Town Hall - New York

An absolutely incredible experience. Much different from Pres Hall in NOLA, more energetic and lively. A great supplement to the OG. This show transported me from New York City back to New Orleans and filled my heart with love and joy :)

    Blown away

by Al on 10/26/19Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

First time at Count Basie Theatre and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The venue, staff, sound was splendid and the music had me moving throughout the show. Even the lighting was beautiful; well done with being distracting. Can't wait to return and can't wait to see the Preservation Band again!

    Preserving Jazz Quality

by Piloboysdad on 10/26/19Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band has been around for quite a long time but don’t let that by no means fool you into thinking their sound is old, the P.H.J.B. has a sound that has surpassed age. They are energetic, contagious and innovators in the Jazz sound. Go see them now!
