It would of been nice if they started on time. The court was shipped to the wrong venue so when we got there it had just arrived. we watch for 2 hours them setting the court up!!!! UNACCEPTABLE! it was suppose to start at 730 and it didn't start till 9:30!! we were only able to stay for one set because we took the train in and had to take the 10:40 train home to relieve our sitter. spent over 200 dollars and they acted like this always happens!! Never offered anything to compensate our inconvenience! Very upset with powershares series!!
Will watch future games again & again-very entertaining & amazing to watch the tennis "legends" of this lifetime. the 2 hour delay wait was worth it but hopefully next time will start as scheduled.
The matches were delayed by two hours so the three matches were played for one set apiece. Not worth the time or money. We purchased our tickets in the late spring but when we arrived at the Garden we were told our seats did not exist and we had to waste more time standing in line at guest services. Not a professionally managed event on any level. We will pass the next time the Cup comes through Boston.
I really enjoyed the match and talk of the players. However, the start of the event was delayed almost two hours....it started at 9:30 p.m. It's too late, especially for kids.
There is no question that it is an amazing experience to get to see McEnroe, Lendl, Courier and Sampras play in one night at one venue. However, the event did not start until 9:30 when the tickets stated 7:30. We saw that the court needed to be installed, so we waited. That being said, it was a great night. The players were very fun to watch and showed alot of personality. Sampras was incredible and McEnroe's play defied his years. Would definitely recommend to friends and colleagues. Hopefully they will keep running this tour for years to come.
Got a sitter and rushed through dinner to get to Boston on time so that I could wait 2 hours for it to start.....tennis was good, but very disappointing!
Supposed to start at 7.30pm but was delayed 2 hrs due to the floor hadn't been laid. Apparently lost flooring in Chicago!! Finally it started at 9.30pm. You would have thought that the games would have been in succession due to the delay but 'NO', they had to put in ads and have ball boy competition matches in between. I mean come on seriously. I left my house at a reasonable time to get to the game, having to organise my babysitter to come half hour earlier and then having the delay and finally having to leave before the final match ended as my babysitter had a driving curfew of 12.30am. The poor couple in front of us had to leave during the second match as they had to return to New Hampshire, along with other patrons at the venue. All in all the night was a disappointment I was really looking forward to the entire 3 matches but 'NO'!!!!! There was no compensation, free T-shirts nothing just a rambling host. NOT IMPRESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Event started 2 hours late. Lendll couldn't wait to get out of there. Sampras was soooooooooooo better than everyone else. Waste of time and money.
I was so confident to have a good time with my son, he loves tenis, i did purchase 3 tickets, got in there in time, and we have to wait 2 hours ,, My son had a nap in the afternoon, because he was going to have a important test next morning, we watch the first mach, but i could see by his face how worried my son was,he just could not wait no longer for the rest of the matches because he has test next morning. \
The event was very fun, however it was not too well organized since we had to wait 2 hours for them to put the tennis court together.
The arena wasn't ready when we arrived for the 7:30pm start. They promised we'd roll in an hour and brought out some of the players for chats to help pass the time. But bottom line, no one hit a tennis ball until 9:30pm. We stayed for the first two rounds but had early Saturday plans so had to bail on the final match which was very disaapointing.
The event was great, but the fact that the tennis court was lost somewhere between Chicago and Boston and it started 2 hours late was a real drag. Especially for how much the tickets cost. They did the best they could to manage the situation, it was just difficult to get home at 12:30am with a 9 year old. They should plan a little more time between cities just in case a situation happens like this. They are going to have a lot of complaints since many people didn't stay.
The tennis match started 2 h after it was scheduled to begin. I think that they could have offered the spectators at least a bottle of water during the wait. Our tickets were expensive, and little explanation was offered for why the tennis court was being installed during the first 2 h we were there. Not very professional. The players tried to please the crowd, but they sure don't play like they used to! At least they didn't waste any time between matches. The event did not attract much of a crowd. I won't be back.
So great that every year we get the opportunity to enjoy the great talent of our favourite tennis players. Have said before but wish they wore microphones so that we could hear their comments/jokes more. The 2 hour delay due to flooring problems was a pain for everyone involved especially the players i am sure but they handled it well. Looking forward to next year !
I attended this event last year & found it to be entertaining & enjoyable. This year was another story. Arrived at the Garden at 7:15PM & was told the start time was an hour late-(8:30PM). Turns out they finally came out & the announcer told the crowd that the "flooring" got "lost" on the road & didn't arrive until that afternoon. Long story short we had to sit there & watch them slowly unload it piece by piece. It took over an hr & a half to get it laid out for play. Play finally started at 9:15PM & we took the commuter train in from the burbs & the last train back home left at 10:35PM. We got to see an uninspired match between McEnroe & Lendl before we HAD to leave to catch the last train home. We had to miss the second match & the final so we just wasted our money on those tix. I think they should have offered some sort of refund/ or compensation as they were at fault. It was very poorly run and they had no consideration for the public who spend good money & only got to see a third of the show! Never again!!
Pitiful. Event was supposed to start at 7:30, they lost the court so it was not setup. Event didn't start until after 9:30pm, unfortunately could not stay for the whole event because of the late start. Fail!
We got there at starting time and the tennis court was not yet set up. We had to wait almost two hours for them to put the floor together and get the net set up. The tennis was fair - not exciting and there were too many "commercials" between the games. Wouldn't recommend and I LOVE tennis!
Except for the delay caused by the installation of the court (important to us because we had a 2 - 2 1/2 hour trip to our home), the event was very enjoyable. We had to leave before the last of the 3 matches. However, the level of tennis was wonderful to see - particularly that of Pete Sampras.
The Tennis was great, however the 2hr delay to watch them set up the court was not so great!!! We still had a great time and we will go again next year.
