Powerhouse
Over the decades, the Powerhouse concerts have become an institution in hip-hop, put on by a radio station that's remained a mainstay of urban contemporary music for decades. WUSL 98.9, out of Philadelphia (better known to its huge audience as Power 99 FM) has sponsored the annual Powerhouse concerts since 1982. Fans know that every time autumn rolls around, they can expect an onstage onslaught of major players in the hip-hop game giving their all — and getting back a ton of love from the crowd.
Power 99 was joined by New York City station WWPR 105.1 (aka Power 105.1) when it became a go-to source for hip-hop and R&B in 2002. These days, the Powerhouse concerts are a two-pronged event with shows sponsored by both stations. Looking back over the history of the Powerhouse shows is a little bit like glancing back at the history of hip-hop itself. Year after year, the event has hosted the major artists of the moment, whether that meant featuring Xzibit, Ludacris and Ja Rule in 2001, showcasing Drake, Rick Ross and Trey Songz in 2011, or offering the likes of Cardi B, Lil Uzi Vert and G-Eazy in 2018.

It was the best most exciting experience i ever had
Great show as always…. It was great seeing up and coming stars and greats
I like mostly all rap music and it was plentiful, the music was A plus, and the people who was new to me did a great job. I loved the people who were dancing. The DJs played a variety of music that was popular and easy to dance to. The artists showed interest in Philadelphia, I saw commercials of a couple of people given it their all in other states and dressed exceptional, and when they get here they don't act the same or bring their dancers. It doesn't happen often, but it wasn't like that this time. The musicians was asking us about our interest in them. The same stars use to come to Philadelphia all the time such as Money Bag Yo Lil Dirk and Lil Baby, now everyone one is coming. I will never forget them, they was always willing to visit, we was always important to them from the beginning. The place was clean also. The people didn't smell, act weird, or gave out any weird vibes. The staff was attentive about answering questions, you see the musicians clearly and had the bill board to look at.
I really enjoyed myself because this was the first concert that I took my only son too. He really enjoyed himself.
Concert started late. Too much time between performers. People were literally standing on the walkway steps, blocking view. Seats weren’t cheap either.
My nieces had a great time and the ticket buying experience was flawless as usual!
The show was entirely too long. It started @6pm and wasn’t over until 1230am. Also the smoking was outta pocket considering there were so many kids there.
Great show good music good crowd of people big event
This was my first concert and I really enjoyed myself. My fiance and I had the time of our lives...lol. Also our seats was not bad at all for only $75. Can't wait to go again next year.
Some of the artist stayed on stage longer than others but it was so much fun. Started on time and didn't end late.
This was my first time going to powerhouse and I enjoyed the entire concert. All the special quest and performers that were on the setlist was amazing.. The kia strobe lights for the crowd was cool too..
Overall a good show, surprise guests did it major. Well worth the cost!
I had the best concert experience. The line up ended up being better than I imagined.
Powerhouse 2015 was great! Tech 9 is who woke up the audience!! I hope he will headline next years powerhouse! I'm not too much of a Kanye West fan, therefore, that might be the reason I literally fell asleep at the end of the show.
I been attending Poerhouse for about 4 years and everytime it has been amazing.
I had a blast. This powerhouse made up for last years.
Going into the concert I was a bit skeptical about some of the artists. But the event was an insane amount of fun. The best acts were Kanye, Luda, B.o.B. Ty, Tech was good kinda weird at times it I don't listen to his music so I didn't really know much. Tinashe is one beautiful girl and had a good energetic performance. Kid Ink wasn't really that good. I would've switched him for B.o.B. If you like at least half of the lineup you should go bc the over artists tend to have good stage presence and they'll hype up the crowd. Kinda sucks that they had that 20 dollar service fee but that's a ticketmaster thing. I couldn't stop dancing overall and I really enjoyed myself with my friends. Honestly it was a great event and now I'm having withdrawals
Great show with lots of talent! They even upgraded our seats and we had such an amazing view. The venue was a perfect choice!
I'm so glad my first concert was this one! It was so turnt ! Kanye was amazing !! And ludacris was so good ! Such an unforgettable night!
