About

Nobody sounds like Portishead. After a 14 year absence, legendary Bristol band Portishead are returning to captivate and transport Australian fans once again. Here for the highly-anticipated Harvest music and art festivals taking place in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in November, these Portishead sideshows take the band's stunning music further afield to Perth, Adelaide and Auckland.

Cinematic indie rock veterans Mercury Rev have continued to surprise and enlighten listeners for over a decade and a half with their maverick musical explorations are special guests for the Perth and Adelaide concerts.

Love the band, the venue was not bad. Had never seen a show at the Wamu Theater.

    Portishead, please tour more

by Mosojo on 10/25/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

I don't know what I was expecting, but I didn't expect Beth Gibbons to have the most eerie and most beautiful live voice, and wow, she really put everything she had out there for the crowd to enjoy. As a band, they clearly have amazing chemistry on stage, sounds were spot on and in sync. Love the camera work too.

Incredible Show by an Incredible Band

by TheRyanKing on 10/25/11Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

There are few bands that are like Portishead. I never thought I would ever get a chance to see them live and going to see them was a dream come true. The sound at the Greek Theatre only added to the perfection of the musicianship. It wasn't too loud and it wasn't too quiet. Beth Gibbons is even more incredible live than on the albums, as well as the rest of the band. Probably my favorite concert of all time. I LOVE YOU PORTISHEAD!!! THANK YOU!

    Portishead was amazing!

by Expatom on 10/25/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

Fabulous set of all their old songs plus a couple of new ones. Beth Gibbons still has it.

    P was so intense!

by Vrenau on 10/25/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

I loved every single minute of this concert. Beth was highly emotional and screaming loudly. The synthesizers got very strong to the point were we experienced an orgasmic vibration at a massive scale. The multimedia was trippy and dark. And the music just out of this world. This was one of the best shows I ever seen in my life. I would fly to the next city to see it again.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Beth's voice has so much realness. It's not just a great voice that's on pitch, its full of character, fragility, and emotion, and blends with the smart, haunting music perfectly.

    13 years worth the wait!

by CShim on 10/25/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

We've been waiting for over 13 years to see Portishead live because they never tour in the US. It was definitely worth the wait! They played a great mix of songs from their earlier albums and a lot of songs from Third. I liked the screen they had behind them too. The members of the band seemed to enjoy playing and Beth Gibbons even came down into the audience during the last song to show her appreciation. It was just amazing overall and they sounded almost exactly like on the albums. I hope they don't wait so long for their next tour!

Amazing show! Beth Gibbons' voice is even more incredible live (gave me goosebumps!) Definitely worth making the trip from Denver to see!

    Portishead was amazing live!

by Tania90293 on 10/25/11Shrine Expo Center - Los Angeles

Her voice was even more amazing live. The sound carried so well to all parts of The Shrine and the crowd was super cool. I have no doubt that, that was inspired by the music.

Been a fan for years, first time seeing them live....AMAZING performance. Thought Forms was cool; a great band to use for the score to a Zombie film (28 Days Later).

    An absolutely epic show

by Gregoriusx on 10/25/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

Every song was clearly planned and performed in sync with a giant video screen behind the band. The show was an easy A+..."Wandering Star" destroyed my mind with how beautifully and expertly it was performed. If you are debating whether to pay the money to see Portishead live...debate no longer. Forego food for a week to save up if needs be - it will be worth it, I promise.

Awesome venue. Wicked blue lighting everywhere, great visuals and amazing performance! Merchandise and drinks overpriced as expected.

    The best show, ever.

I can die happy. Almost went to the show in Vancouver the next day, but my ride couldn't make it happen. Greatest show I've ever been too.

I didn't know Portishead all that well. But the show seems structured to keep not only hardcore fans but also those like me engaged. I'm therefore in the process of becoming a fan!

    Portishead show was amazing.

    by levi41 on 10/25/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

I love Beth Gibbons vocals, but as part of Portishead, they are hard to reproduce outside of the live experience. Even on my home stereo if I bump the volume up enough the bass becomes a bother. if I leave it low enough to not have the bass not take everything over then Beths vocals are too soft. I don't know what magic they used but the whole show was amazing to bring everything together. Will be a show my fiance and I will remember for a long time.

Portishead was perfect. Amazing. A long awaited surprise. Just skip the opening act. The Thought Forms were boring-music you will find on a indie movie.

Thank [P] for gracing our li'l old continent

by remapper on 10/25/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

From the moment the capital P first jiggled on that big screen, grooves were etching into a WaMu theater full of mostly old school fans. Atmosphere smelled pleasant and not too hot, great views from all over the theater, judiciously priced, booked and staffed/coordinated event with a wet bar to boot. Portishead has truly trumped Pink Floyd for visual effects and sheer stadium presence - with fresher material, better vocals, and no ego/drama. Beth is so very humble in her thanks, just like at the old Roseland show from early last decade. She even took a spin through the front of the audience at the end. Enough can't be said about the quality of this show. Live feeds were overlaid and augmented with effects so beautifully. The visual and audio engineers were just as instrumental in this performance as Geoff, Adrian, and Beth. Geoff worked the traps and a couple instruments including no doubt turntables though it was a little too dark to see that end. Hats off for staying so low key. True masters here. Adrian came to the table with his signature minimal and so so tasteful guitar lines on a variety of axes and effects. Beth wails like a native princess at the bottom of the sea. Any sea siren's envy, little mermaid eat your heart out you can't touch this. [P] hope they surface again in a decade or so. They weather the time well, their reclusive nature and LP release schedule truly suits them.
