About

Nobody sounds like Portishead. After a 14 year absence, legendary Bristol band Portishead are returning to captivate and transport Australian fans once again. Here for the highly-anticipated Harvest music and art festivals taking place in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in November, these Portishead sideshows take the band's stunning music further afield to Perth, Adelaide and Auckland.

Cinematic indie rock veterans Mercury Rev have continued to surprise and enlighten listeners for over a decade and a half with their maverick musical explorations are special guests for the Perth and Adelaide concerts.

    Yes.

by FeloniousFunk on 11/2/11Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

This show doesn't need a review. If you were on the fence on seeing Portishead, you shouldn't go to this show. People at this show knew how important it was to be there. The people that attended did not want to risk another 15 years without seeing this band perform live, and that's why they were there on Friday night. Everyone from Cal students to families with little children were there. I could not help but say to those kids, "You're so lucky to be here," and other people that attended would agree wholeheartedly.

    WOW!

THEY NEVER disappoint. This is my 3rd Portishead concert and I think they topped there Santa Monica show in the mid 90s. LOVE the way they stripped down "Wondering Star". AMAZING!!!!!

    Portishead - at last!

by TrishyMama on 10/29/11Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

Been waiting to see this amazing band of artists for many years. My son is both a solo artist and in a band called Maere that recently released their first CD and have a video on the way. Portishead has always had a huge influence on the music he writes. his show was phenomenol on so many levels - performance, venue, artistry, composition, visuals and then there is the fact that unlike some bands, they played for over 2 hours!!! Now, if the Greek could just put some little toe holds on their grassy incline and refrain from watering it for a couple of days prior to an event, mark parking better...

    Portishead was simply AMAZING!!!

by GPills on 10/28/11Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of seeing Portishead at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. It was one of the greatest shows I have ever been to. The fact that I was even in the same room as the band and that I was watching them and not a video was enough to get the adrenaline rushing WEEKS before the show even happened. I mean, the last time they played in NYC was the Roseland show in the late 90's!!! I can only hope that they decide to return to perform again because I WILL BE THERE.

    Chase the Tear

Easily the best show I have seen in nearly a decade. Portishead as a six piece band is unparalleled in their skill and majesty.

    Best show ever!

by RabStu on 10/27/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

I've seen them before, and the opening band was just ok....but they blew my mind. Every song and performance was bone chilling and amazing. The bass was shaking everything throughout your body and everyone left with a huge grin. I;ve seen THOUSANDS of show and this one was ALL-TIME! Portishead, you made this one of the most unforgettable nights of my life. My fiance and me both had the best nights of our lives! Enough said.....

    Amazing(period)

by ByrdmanPDX on 10/27/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

Wow. Just wow. I already love Portishead and they definitely did NOT disappoint(except for not playing my favorite song, but I can forgive them). It was an amazing show. Beth's voice was absolutely stunning, Geoff was on point, and Adrian didn't miss a note. I don't know the rest of the touring acts names but my favorite by far was the drummer. His snare work was straight gangster. Definitely a landmark for me... I will not soon forget.

Absolutely amazing performance, the parking to the venue sucks, so get there early. The venue itself is pretty good considering is one big piece of concrete

    Portishead in WAMU Seattle

by essenciya on 10/26/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

I flew to Seattle to see Portishead from San Francisco, that should tell what kind of fan I am. I waited too long to buy a tickets to Berkeley Greek theater, so ended up with buying it to WaMu in Seattle, and the show was great, the venue I would say not that great as the Greek Theater, but also very nice. Opening band did not impress me much either, just my opinion, maybe because i waited to see Portishead too hard. I kinda wanted to compare this show to Massive attack this year in a beginning, but don't think it would be appropriate. The live video on the back blend to the atmosphere and the Beth voice - all 5 stars. Definitely I will go to any Portishead concert in future, hope in near. They don't touring that much and i almost lost a hope that i'll see them, so this concert gave me a hope again. Thanks.

    So worth the wait!!

    by Trevor1982w on 10/26/11PNE Forum - Vancouver

What a fantastic show! Wonderful blend of the new album and our old faves! So great to see Beth be so happy at the end of the show! Her voice was crystal clear and so much more powerful then the albums let on! The band and extra players played to perfection! Please come back to Vancouver soon!!!

Everything I'd hoped it would be and more...

    by Sasssy707 on 10/26/11WAMU Theater - Seattle

I'm still too speechless about this concert to write a proper review. Portishead hasn't been in Seattle for nearly 10 years. And this show was beyond worth the wait. Beth's voice was simply amazing and beautiful. If they had played another night, I would have been there for that show too. I'm a die hard Portishead fan and these innovators of Trip Hop were one of my dream concerts, they did not disappoint. Simply beautiful, etheral, haunting, sexy, and amazing.

by Weefer on 10/26/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

A truly amazing gig. Sounds was just right for me, standing right next to the mixing desk. Very clear and crisp. Great setlist with tracks from all albums. Chase the Tear sounds great live.

    Epic.

by Anonymous on 10/26/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

It was damned near a perfect show. I would have liked it to be a little longer but I'm not complaining. Wandering Star made every penny of that ticket worth it.

    Portishead: Pure Perfection

by SidheSiren on 10/25/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

This was by far one of THE BEST shows I have EVER been to, hands down. Beth crooned like a siren. She was spot-on and pitch-perfect. It would be nearly impossible to tell a live performance from the album were you to listen to them side by side! The band had AMAZING chemistry, and they all really seemed to be enjoying themselves. This was quite the memorable show, indeed. I believe I can speak for all of us when I say thank you SO MUCH, Portishead, for coming to Seattle. <3 SidheSiren

    Portishead at Wamu Theatre

by Anonymous on 10/25/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

Watching Portishead was amazing, the first time I have ever seen them live. I did not like the venue at all though, wish it would've been smaller like showbox market or something.
