There are not enough good words to describe how awesome the whole day was... The only bummer was the sound for Candlebox. It was one of the main bands I wanted to hear and their sound system went out so you couldn’t hear them unless you were next to the stage. Other wise Everyone else was amazing!!!
I went mainly for AIC. Very disappointed. No encore.. Duvall just didn't act like he was into it. Quit at 1045 after starting late.Setlist sucked for the most part. No Angry Chair.
Bands were awesome. Ser up ward ok but not as many vendors and things as in the past. Was looking forward to another pointfest tattoo. No pop-up tattoo shop. :(
I went specifically to see the struts and blue October. If bands go that you like it is worth attending. Very crowded
For a festival such as this, AEG needs to step it up. Waiting for concessions for an hour should NEVER be acceptable. Venue isn’t designed for three stages, nor that many attendees - and it hurt the entire experience.
This was my second Pointfest. The acts that they chose this year were hard to beat. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was the fact that Blue October was not on the main stage. It seemed more people were crammed into the little side stage area than actual people in the amphitheater.
All of the bands were great! Shinedown rocked the house!
Great Artists! Great Sound!! Great Crowd!!! Electric Atmosphere!!!! Now lets ruin it by charging fans $15 for a can of domestic beer and $7 for water. What a joke! The organizers should be ashamed to have anything to do with this sort of highway robbery. Sure you can get a $20 or even sometimes a $10 ticket but you can expect to spend at least $100 if you want to have a few beers and a bite to eat while there. God forbid the venue make water available at a reasonable price on a 90+ degree day. I didn't see a single water fountain anywhere. Aside form the ridiculous concession prices and the occasional douche bag tough guy strutting around, it was a great show.
Due to a couple illnesses I have been going through for over 5 years now I have not been able to go to any concert in quite a long time. Pointfest was the 1st concert I have been to in about 2 years and it brought me back to life again and for that I am so grateful! I was mainly going for my fav band Shinedown but I also got to see Brookroyal whom I haven't seen in YEARS!!! They are still definitely rocking and am so glad they continue to follow their dream. I have never seen STP in concert before and I do have to say they put on a pretty good show as well and I rocked to them. BUT when Shinedown came on stage & I took all the built-up energy that I had and went crazy! I totally danced and sang my ass off and it was the greatest feeling I have had in a LONG time!!! I cannot thank The Point and everyone else for making me feel something words just can't describe. THANK YOU THANK YOU
Killer show, what a lineup- one day festival lineup was great. Could not have lined up a better concert experience -keep em coming
Great concert!! Line up was fantastic! Wish they would of staggered the bands a bit as it was hard to go from one stage to the other in the allotted time.
Great time and awesome bands!! Wish Alice and Chain would have played a little longer, but they were still awesome, as well as all the bands on the main stage. If was fun to have the 2 side stages too to get up and walk around and listen to other music as well. I think it will by far be the best show of the summer! Thanks 105.7 the Point! One side note... wow beers got expensive!
Korn was a no show and I was not able to get a refund.
Breaking Benjamin great at 1st hard to hear Ben singing but then it got better and better. Great show all the band were great.
Sound quality was very poor on the main stage. Vocals were overpowered, so you had to concentrate to figure out which song was being performed. It was very disappointing. We've heard Breaking Benjamin and Alter Bridge before and were excited to see them again. After enduring the poor mix on the bands preceding Breaking Benjamin and realizing nothing had changed, we stayed for 6 songs and left early. The only quality sound was on a secondary stage. The Sick Puppies performance was perfectly mixed. Apparently, the A team was working the smaller stage and the B team on the main stage. The reason for the conflicting overall rating and bottom line, is because this was the first time we've had a bad audio experience at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater. We'd give it another try; but there wouldn't be a 3rd, if we had the same experience.
Fantastic show! We bought Pit tickets and it wasn't overly crowded so you could dance and move a bit more than some of the Pits we have been in. I know many were disappointed with Korn dropping out, but we were thrilled as Alter Bridge and Breaking Benjamin are who we were there to see. Great show, friendly vendors, great crowd, tons of fun!
Not going to lie, I'm not a fan of "all day concerts" that march out several bands. Not only do I not know who the first few are, but usually even the last few that go before the headliner are bands where I only know 1-2 of their songs. Plus, the time in-between bands is usually kind of lengthy. So in the spirit of this... I showed up to the venue after the sun had begun to set around 8:30. Yes, I had to park all the way back in what seemed like St. Charles distance wise. After the 2/3 of a mile hike into the venue; it was time to gear up. $12.50 for a 25oz beer isn't the worst deal in the world, but it's probably a price only fetched at sporting events and concerts. Beer in hand, ticket on phone, and headed to the last row of seating. (Caveat: the lawn would've been fine as I was on my feet the whole time, but being a little closer never hurts when you're certifiably night blind.) Staff scanned ticket, Breaking Benjamin took the stage, and they put on their customary phenomenal show for an hour and a half...non-stop. In addition to playing all of their greatest hits, they also filled in for Korn by playing one of their tunes along with some Metallica "Sepultura", the Star Wars Imperial March, Nirvana "Smells Like Teen Spirit", and some riffs from other 90's rock/alternative bands. It had been nearly 13 years since I first saw them in concert and they were just as good/if not better now than they were back then. I would highly recommend that if you have the chance to see them in concert; you take the opportunity and enjoy.
The headliner korn cancelled but there were no refunds, and the changeover times were longer than the set times and none of the bands played longer, except breaking benjamin. I paid to see korn. Not even a partial refund.
Mediocre experience at best. Headliner cancelled, no refund. New headliner sounded horrible. Alter Bridge was great. Sick Puppies, well I used to love them...
