    Fan Central College Football

by pirio on 1/23/16Phoenix Convention Center - Phoenix

This was a lot of fun. Not as good as the NFL Experience at the Super Bowl but still fun. There were a lot of interactive games to play - passing the ball, kicking it, as well as blocking and tackling activities.

    Kids Loved It!

by RSR42 on 1/22/16Phoenix Convention Center - Phoenix

My kids loved the experience. My nine-year old had a blast and my twenty-year old enjoyed himself as well. I would definitely recommend this for any family looking for entertainment. If it every comes back to Phoenix again, we are DEFINITELY going.

A great deal of activities for modest price. Had greats from both schools such as Shaun Alexander, CJ Spiller, Davon Brown and Andre Ellington available for autographs. Good time, went twice.

    Fun experience on smaller scale

by Mikey672 on 1/17/16Phoenix Convention Center - Phoenix

Compared to the Super Bowl Central Party that I attended for 3 days in Jan 2015 (that was the ultimate experience), the CFP Fan Central was a smaller scale with less vendors and activities. I enjoyed the event in the Conference Center (West Bldg) very much. There were lot of fun activities there that was aimed at children and die-hard football fans. Was a great experience. Got some free cool souvenirs to remember it by.

    Great event for football fans

by CokerGuy29 on 1/14/16Phoenix Convention Center - Phoenix

This was a great and well organized event for championship weekend. The lines got long at times, but that was to be expected and there were so many events to keep you occupied. There was fun and giveaways for any member of the family. My favorite part was the free Chic-Fil-A nuggets!

There were not enough activities for the kids. What they did have was good.

Fantastic, inexpensive family event! Volunteers were so friendly but needed a bit more information to ensure they were providing information confidently.

Great family fun. Highly suggest families with kids attending. Well organized and plenty to see and do. Would not recommend for those without kids.

The event was awesome! My son and I enjoyed the booths and activities. He especially liked the field goal kicking area. The CMT concert on Friday night was incredible.

    Over-rated.

by Chinks2 on 1/20/15Dallas Convention Center - Dallas

Not much positive to say about this event. It's probably good if you were a fan of OSU or Oregon. Most of the players signing autographs were from one of those 2 schools. The exception was Doug Flutie who was great. Troy Smith was initially on the schedule and then taken off after I bought my ticket. The appearance schedule was also released very late - I think 1 or 2 days before the event. There weren't enough booths to fill the convention center. Even with a full sized football field and a separate concert area, there was lots of space between the vendor booths. They just didn't get enough companies to sponsor the event. There was sufficient free swag/junk if that's what you're interested in, although it probably wasn't enough to justify $17 ticket, $2 handling fee, and then parking. If you got the $8 Groupon, it could be stomached. (Never a good sign when an event needs to sell Groupons...) This has a long way to go. Hopefully, the lameness was due to the fact that this was the first year of the playoff.

    Great Experience

I enjoyed all the activities fanfest provided from on site interviews, free signatures of past players of each team, interactive games, great food, and the best place to buy championship items. Thanks for making it such a memorable experience!!!!

    Too Corporate

by PDXJennings on 1/15/15Dallas Convention Center - Dallas

We were very disappointed in the Playoff Fan Central experience. Having attended many Oregon Ducks pep rallies in the past, we were excited about this one. It was, however, a complete dud. Yes, it was nice to listen to the Oregon band for 20 minutes, but then...nothing. No speeches, no coaches, no U of O officials; just some guy on stilts trying to make us yell...didn't work for us. We also would have appreciated an opportunity to buy U of O branded products in the shop instead of CFP merchandise. The whole thing just felt too corporate to us, with no connection to our Oregon community.

Great time at Fan Central. Something to do for everyone. Pep rallies were awesome. I'd give it 5 stars, but they still have sent me my video predicting a Buckeye victory

planning not acceptable for all ages

by OUALUM76 on 1/14/15Dallas Convention Center - Dallas

There were no seats. It was standing only. O.K. for kids in school, but I am a senior citizen. If you left event to find a place to rest your feet you would not be allowed back in. This was crazy considering we were allowed to enter the country music kickoff 90 minutes early.Very disapointed ,We left after first song.Playoff Fan Central failed to disclose or inform the public of any acommidations . The information I got off the internet was vage.

Concert Great, Venue Setup and Staff Illequipped

by derek704 on 1/14/15Dallas Convention Center - Dallas

The Kickoff Concert was fun once it started, but getting in wasn't so smooth. Starting from the beginning, there was confusion with the color wrist bands. The man on stilts giving directions was hard to hear, and was asked by several ticket holders to turn off the mic and just yell. The holding point where he had us waiting was too far away from the speakers to hear. Once he let our color leave to walk towards the tunnel, he said the wrong color so half the group that had been walking had to turn back. He said Blue and Purple, and then said just Blue. After that, we had to wait at the tunnel entrance for 20 or so minutes before the guards finally let our group through. Once we got in, we realized that all "seating" was actually standing room only, on the same level. All the fans, except VIP, were on floor level, causing shorter people to not see the concert, especially the ones further back. Now to alcohol, fans were told to throw away their alcohol before entering the tunnel, and to purchase more inside the concert room. Many people did this, but were surprised because once inside, they did not allow alcohol on the concert floor. You had to drink it in one of the back corners of the large room, away from the stage (and cameras I'm assuming). Overall, even though the music and performance was great, the conditions for the fans from start to finish was disappointing.

Fan Central - so much room, so little to see . . .

by DALFTWfan on 1/14/15Dallas Convention Center - Dallas

The inaugural CFP Fan Central event was a disappointment to my high school son and me. Interactive areas were limited and for the most part, tailored for parents with young children. The entire exhibition appeared to be focused solely on the game at hand, with little or no displays, facts & information, or paraphernalia regarding the history of college football nor mention of winning teams and great traditions stemming from the past. If the attendee was a fan of another university, not Ohio State or Oregon, there was no real reason to be there. Celebrating the sport in general and its rich history was lacking. Directions and signage to the area were poor, and I am familiar with downtown Dallas, having worked there for over 25 years. Wonder how the out of town folks found their way there? For us, certainly it was not worth the price of admission. We saw everything that was there and we were done in well under an hour. Attendee's admission subjects him/her to a good deal of advertising. Souvenirs - $35 t-shirts; $35 caps; $55 sweatshirts; $130 Wilson football. No thank you. This was not a memorable father-son activity, and not of the caliber of a similar event held at the same location prior to the Super Bowl in 2011. We returned home to watch the FCS national championship game on TV instead.
