PLAIN WHITE T'S IN CONCERT:

Pop-punk outfit Plain White T's is anything but plain live -- the band has been packing a punch with their driving guitar sound, upbeat melodies, and sprightly showmanship since 1997. Whether they're stripping it down with their acoustic smash-hit "Hey There Delilah" or getting fans to sing along to "1,2,3,4", Plain White T's sound just as sharp live as they do on their recordings. A veteran touring act with showmanship to the gills, the five-piece gives concertgoers an unforgettable experience every time they hit the road for one of their exciting tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Chicago-based pop punkers Plain White T's first formed in 1997, getting their start playing local bar and restaurant gigs. When frontman Tom Higgenson was involved in a near-fatal car accident two years later, he penned a collection of reflective songs while recovering that ultimately led the band to pursue music full-time. They released three albums in the early '00s, but didn't achieve mainstream success until 2006 with Every Second Counts, which was certified gold in the US and featured the No. 1 hit "Hey There Delilah". The band immediately launched to international fame after the release, set out on a tour with Motion City Soundtrack, and played their own sold-out headlining shows. The pop-punk act continued to release more popular tunes like "1,2,3,4" and "Rhythm of Love", both of which were played in heavy rotation on alternative radio across the country. With several platinum-selling records, two Grammy nominations, and a hit-filled catalog under their belt, Plain White T's are show-stopping performers who treat fans to all of their popular tunes on perennial can't-miss tours.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"I always thought this band was good... but I never saw them live before. The live show is full of passion, honesty, and energy. They were absolutely AMAZING. Each band member is extremely talented. A MUST-SEE!"

"NO WORDS can explain how AMAZING this night was! Plain White T's put on a FUN and energetic show, get the crowd involved, and keep you dancing until the end! This show will be a LIFETIME MEMORY!"

"The Plain White T's never disappoint. In addition to being a great band, they are great entertainers."

  • Plain white T's were brilliant.

by SteinerBoston on 11/5/15Brighton Music Hall - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

From the moment we walked in the door of this small music hall we knew the concert would be great. They played the beloved favorites along with their new album, which sounded great! They were so personable with the audience and even came down after the show to talk with everyone. When has that happened recently with such a well known band. I think this is just the beginning of their 2nd rise to the top! Thank you Plain White T's for such a great night!

  • Great band, horrible venue

by Jax1975 on 8/17/15First Merit Bank Event Park across from The Dow Event Center - SaginawRating: 3 out of 5

My poor rating is not reflective of the bands performance, rather, it's based on the staff of the Dow event center. Inclement weather forced a delay in getting into the outdoor arena and I, my daughter and about 20 other people decided to sit through the thunderstorm as we were the first in line to get in. Even though we we're standing on public property, the staff continuously threatened us with cancelling our tickets if we did not go inside the indoor arena across the street. We waited 3 hours to get in and at no time were we given any notice if the concert was cancelled or not. The staff seemed extremely annoyed to even be there let alone answer any questions. Would gladly see the band again but not at that venue. Will not spend my money on that place again.

  • Great concert with a few qualifiers

by Kidleo on 4/13/15State Theatre - St PetersburgRating: 4 out of 5

Plain White T's are a tight band with great harmonies, strong musicality and they write catchy pop tunes. Whoever was mixing their sound must have a hearing problem as the bass was mixed so loud that on many of the first 5 songs, it was hard to hear the vocals. Since the vocals are the bands strongest aspect, that seems like a poor idea.

  • The Plain White T's are the real deal!

by IRBbums on 4/13/15State Theatre - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

The Plain White T's are truly talented and a great band to see in person! The songs played live sounded just like they do on their recorded versions. There was a perfect mix of laid back acoustic songs and louder punk songs. The band was very personable with the audience and seemed really down to earth. We wish more people were there to hear them because it was an awesome concert!

Wish Plain White T's were on the stage longer. Parachute was on the stage the longest even though Plain White T's were the headliner. I went to see the Plain White T's. Fortunately all bands were excellent including Tommy and the High Pilots

  • Parachute was outstanding!!

by MichBorr on 11/11/13The Stone Pony - Asbury ParkRating: 4 out of 5

I love Parachute so of course I loved this concert! Such a stage presence compared to the Plain White Ts who came on before them! I wasn't too close to the stage but I still felt like I was pretty close. It was amazing.

  • Amazing

by Mercourts on 11/11/13The Stone Pony - Asbury ParkRating: 5 out of 5

I fell in love with a band from California that I had never heard of called Tommy and the High Pilots. They were the opener and amazing probably the best opener I have ever seen. Then the Plain white T's came on and they were okay. They put on a great show and sing wonderfully. Then Parachute came on and everyone went crazy! Everyone sang and danced along to every song and got a great concert atmosphere going. Such a great atmosphere that Will Anderson, of Parachute, said that he would be back by the merch after the show! I died! The best night of my life! Also in the best venue ever

  • Excellent Night at Paradise

    by Fauch810 on 7/31/13Paradise Rock Club - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I tend to love any show at Paradise. They are well priced and the shows are small and pretty intimate. I feel like I am not lost in the crowd and that they band can actually see me amongst the other fans! The opening two bands even stuck around after their sets and chatted with people and the Wind and the Wave gave out free copies of their album. It seemed like a smaller than normal crowd which may be a bit disappointing to the band but it was nice as a fan because it made the show that much more special. A great night to see the Plain White T's!

  • Great show

Great band that sounds amazing live. These guys are definitely not auto tuned. Came down off the stage afterwards to greet the fans.

  • Sounded Great!

by upfromhere on 7/29/13The Social at Revel - Revel BeachRating: 4 out of 5

I am not a huge fan or follower of the Plain White T's, though I have always liked their music. So, when I saw that they were going to be in Atlantic City while we were there, I jumped at the chance to see them. I was simply amazed to find that the tickets were only $10.50 each! A great deal for an evening of entertainment from such a well known group. The Band was excellent, the venue was small and intimate, but unfortunately the audience nearly ruined the concert for everyone. The majority of concert goers here seemed almost rude with their lack of enthusiasm. There was very little sincere applause or appreciation shown for the band and their musical efforts. I was embarrassed for the entire crowd as I watched the band struggle to get this small crowd pumped up. At one point the group even admitted to the crowd that this was the worst they had encountered on this tour. Apologies to the Plain White T's for Atlantic City's reception! I am not from AC, thank goodness!

Good Friday night concert. The Band stayed after to talk and take pictures with the crowd.

  • Plain White T's concert in Cincinnati was awesome

    by pd2013 on 7/27/1320th Century Theater - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

Their choice of the venue made for an intimate concert full of energy. From their first song to their last they kept the crowd engaged.

Great show. I really enjoyed "The Wind and the Wave" too!
