While it seemed to this amateur eye that conductor Domingo was not _always_ on the beat, the orchestra's partnership with Ma for Dvorak's Cello Concerto was unforgettable, particularly the first two movements. Slow and poignant, these movements received their best possible interpretation in Ma's hands. Passionate and precise, his playing almost silenced even the most oblivious bottle roller and paper bag rustler.
I cannot give the same kudos to the HB staff however. They seemed strangely ill-equipped to handle a sold-out crowd (don't they do this for a living?!) One of the buses almost ran someone over due to poor direction and bad driving. Come on, guys, get with it!!!
