About

PJ Masks on Tour

Ever since Superman and Batman made their comic-book debuts in the 1930s, kids have always been drawn to superhero stories. They've indulged aspirational fantasies of acquiring their own special powers and saving the world. The Disney Junior animated series PJ Masks is a superhero franchise with a twist — the superheroes are regular kids themselves.

By day, Connor, Amaya, and Greg are your typical first-graders playing on the schoolyard. By night, they turn into Catboy, Owlette, and Gekko — the costumed crime-fighting trio who announce their transformation on each episode with a motto that every parent knows by heart at this point. (All together now: "PJ Masks are on their way, into the night to save the day!")

Since its debut in 2015, PJ Masks has joined the ranks of Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig in the pantheon of TV shows that have provided young children with an early education thanks to the art of the Netflix binge-watch.

Like those programs, PJ Masks has spawned an IRL offshoot in the form of a live revue. After touring the PJ Masks: Time to Be a Hero! show over the course of 2017-18, our heroes return to stages across North America in 2019 with a brand-new production, PJ Masks Live! Save the Day! The show features (adult) actors dressed up as Catboy, Owlette, and Gekko, and it presents its storyline through a series of acrobatic musical numbers set against animated video backdrops.

Expect to see the PJs square off against their most infamous nemeses: the mad scientist Romeo; the silver-haired, moonbeam-wielding Luna Girl; and the shadowy Night Ninja with his army of Ninjalinos. (The show also includes a handful of new songs not featured on the Time to Be a Hero! soundtrack that was released in October 2018.)

    3 year old loved it!!!

by JessieBooks on 1/6/20Toyota Center Kennewick - Kennewick

3 year old daughter had never been to something like this and she absolutely loved it. We splurged a little on the tickets and made it a daddy date night with the 3 year old. In her words “daddy, this was the BEST night ever!!” It wasn’t painful for my husband as the adult, he loved seeing her enjoy the show.

Color and lighting was good. Needed more music.

by La luev on 12/25/19Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

My 3 year old got bored 60% of the show. The excitement only happened when there was music and dancing. The cast needs to be more interactive with the little kids.

    PJ just OK

Not enough music. Story lines not relatable for 2 year olds.

    Wonderful show but ...

by K. M. on 12/25/19Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

The performance was amazing but the venue left some questions. We couldn’t say enough about the performance - my two year old granddaughter went over the moon even she realized what was going on. And, all the kids were so excited. The meet & greet was so cute. The characters were just lovely - they were so patient with the kids and wonderful. The venue is older but really beautiful. Unfortunately, the bathrooms did not have changing stations for my granddaughter. I’m surprised that you would choose to have a kids event at a venue without children’s changing stations. They also smelled really bad. There wasn’t much of a food selection. There was more alcohol than food, which didn’t make sense - since it was a children’s event. The only thing for sale was popcorn, candy and frito bowls- little kids do not eat frito bowls. So, we had to settle for popcorn and candy. At least you had juices. Hopefully, next time your marketing people get on the ball!

Not what i expected at all!!

by Roxanne on 12/19/19Hartman Arena - Park City

The show was cute but bootleg if you have been to other shows like Elmo or any Disney production the quality doesn't compare.I guess I was expecting to much based on the price of the tickets. It was not worth $200 for 50 min show and the costumes and props was not up to par. The price of the tickets should not be over 20 per ticket thats about all its worth. Save your money!!!!!!!!!!!

    PJ Mask Live

by Pam on 12/19/19Hartman Arena - Park City

The show was great and my daughter loved it! She also enjoyed getting to meet the characters. However, the arena was a bit cold during the show. Also, we paid for the VIP Meet and Greet. I was a little disappointed that we paid $50 per person( parent and child) for a picture that I took and approximately 3-4 minutes of interaction time. and there were no autographs either. Parents shouldn’t have to pay $50 to stand with their child while in line and take the picture. I will be rethinking VIP next time. I didn’t not need a PJ Mask bag and VIP lanyard. If you would allow one parent with each paying child, I think you would have more people at these events.

Very basic performance for how expensive the tickets were.

by GerthMcKerth on 12/16/19Five Flags Center - Dubuque

Two set pieces. A simple car and a shack with two garbage cans. Very small cast. IDK I wouldn’t expect much but considering this was almost twice as much as Paw Patrol live or Sesame Street live I thought there’d be some pizzazz or something. I like to take my kids to this stuff and this was definitely a very “womp whaaa...” event. Feels weird to be so critical of a kids performance but this was on par with a high school production

    Fun!

by Grandma on 12/14/19BB&T Arena - Highland Heights

The venue was clean and comfortable. Easy and affordable parking. The show was fun. The sound was good (not too loud or screechy like a show we saw last year at US Bank Arena). The merchandise was expensive as it is at every show. The food, however, was less expensive than many events. I definitely will go to other events at BB&T Arena and would choose this venue over US Bank Arena.

    EXCELLENT!

by Dmorales on 12/8/19The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

This was our second time seeing the show and this one was 100% better then the last. I am happy that they heard all the parents from last year and changed the costumes, they looked more like the cartoon. Can't wait to take my son again next time.

Fun for a 4 Year Old

by Coy on 12/8/19The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Our 4 year old son was completely engaged and loved seeing his first live show! And they split it up nicely with the first half being about 30 min, then about 20 min break, then final 30 min. I’m just glad I bought tickets early when it was still reasonable. I’d hate to have spent double he price if I waited.

    Short and not worth it

    by H. A. on 12/8/19The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

I take my children to all kid shows and for the most part I enjoy them too. This show was 1.5 with intermission which is crazy. The stage set up reminded me of a High School stage play. I was not impressed at all.

    Low feelings/Disappointment

by Oh Boy! on 12/5/19DAR Constitution Hall - Washington

First of all, my daughter love it. She is 3 y/o and a big fan of PJ Mask, so it was expected. Me on the other hand, not so much. Yes, the show is not for me BUT!!! So, the performance was acceptable. I mean, it is hard to recreate a cartoonish environment into real life. The actors did their best with what they had at hand and what the performance company was able to put together technologically to match the TV show. There was good tech thru the entire show i.e. lights, special effects, sound, dance, songs and all others. But, I could not keep the sequence of what was happening, because they changed from one situation into another without resolution. Therefore, I asked my wife afterwords if she was able to follow up, and her answer was no. So, I question myself, were we asleep or we were not paying attention? Anyway, Romeo came out like 3 times, Luna girl had more time on stage but Ninja was in and out. I think the scrip needs revision and improvement to cover those gaps and others. Since, my daughter is a big fan I opted to buy the "meet and great" secession. What a disappointment!!! How many characters were at the performance 6!!(All of the PJ Mask cast) So, why in the word the "meet and great" only had 3!!(Catboy, Gekko and Owlette) What happen to the villains??? Not only that, the time expend with the cast was faster than I was able to take a picture. I understand, there were other people waiting for the same experience but if the full cast is available you could have divided the line (rotate the lines). Suggestion, mix the cast in pairs so everyone, including the cast, can make the experience more fulfilling to their fans and their paying parents(We are there too). Maybe the location does not allowed, like the DAR Hall in DC. Because we felt that every second at the place was costing you an arm and a leg. I mean, the PJ Mask cannot rescue the city, if there is no Luna Girl or Romeo!! I guess the meet and great ticket price does not include them. I feel sorry for them. Another item, who was the smart guy that thought that a mini bag of chips and a bottle of water should cost $7?? sincerely, Oh Boy!!

    Just okay

by Dee on 12/5/19Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

The show was okay. The kids enjoyed it but it didn’t compare to the Disney on ice/marvel live type shows we have been to before. Singing was hit or miss depending on the character.

    Just okay

by Jamie on 12/5/19Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

I’ve seen quite a few Disney performances and this honestly was my least favorite. First of all it started late.. they told us doors opened at 430, but we couldn’t actually go to our seats until about 555... the costumes were disappointing.. they looked like they picked them up at Walmart on the way to the venue.. my daughter seemed to enjoy herself, so I guess that’s all that matters.. but I wouldn’t buy tickets to see it again..

    Not worth the price

by SpillD3P2 on 12/5/19Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

For the price of these tickets, I expected much better production value. The costumes looked like what my 3-year-old wore on Halloween, and the actors didnt really care much to be there. Maybe my expectations were too high for my first kids' show but the high price of the tickets suggested more.

    Completely underwhelming

by Julie on 12/5/19DAR Constitution Hall - Washington

Very little singing and dancing, and the little that there was, was not very good. The story was good, but when the characters spoke, the sound echoed and it was hard to understand what some of them were saying. It also needed more props, and overall more pizzazz. If you've seen Paw Patrol Live, you will be VERY disappointed with this show.

My nephew had a good time!!

    by N. J. on 12/4/19DAR Constitution Hall - Washington

My nephew loved it and that is all that matters. My only issue is the way the stage was set up, for people sitting on the sides there was an obstructed view and I do not remember a mention of that when buying tickets.
