This show was spectacular. Great show for all ages! The live orchestra was a nice touch compared to previous years. I also forgot that these students are not professional but are trainees and young aspiring artists. I recommend to sit middle to back or even towards the first upper level so you can truly enjoy all the dancing. Support the Arts! Support Theatre!
Enjoyed the Nutcracker experience. Thought the Arizona Financial theater was a better venue, the performance was wonderful, but the most important improvement over last year was the live orchestra. They were fantastic and really made the experience magical!
Seeing this particular rendition has become a holiday tradition for my mom group and our daughters. While I was happy to keep the tradition alive- it felt less magical at this venue than when it is held at the Orpheum. Between the big screens on the sides of the stage, the loudness of the snow machines, and the seating being so far away- this production lost some of its charm. Add to that the bathroom and snack situation leave you feeling like you are at a concert or sporting event. While there is nothing wrong with this venue itself, I didnt love seeing the nutcracker here, and I don’t think we will be returning again next year if it is held at this location.

I thought the Snow Queen, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and the Cossack dancers were excellent. The rest were uninspiring. The orchestra left a lot to be desired. Strings were not in tune; many tempos were dragging. Sound man didn't do the audience any favors; most of the time too loud, harp was e-queued very tinny sound. But, my 16-year-old granddaughter, who is a dance student, enjoyed it, so all is well.
