About

Phoebe Bridgers In Concert

Phoebe Bridgers' moody, angelic mix of folk and indie-pop disguises her youthful spirit — which makes her music and onstage presence every bit more charming. The Los Angeles, California-based singer-songwriter has long known her fate as a musician. She first picked up the guitar at age 12 and soon began honing her chops at the Americana music series in Los Angeles, called The Grand Ole Echo. She would even busk at the Pasadena farmers' market to earn some extra cash. As a teenager, she attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, where she studied vocal jazz and connected with other promising artists and musicians.

After graduating, she spent much of her time around L.A., performing solo and playing bass in the punk band Sloppy Jane. Soon, she began landing roles on various commercials, starting with an iPhone ad in which she covers Pixies' "Gigantic." But it wasn't until she met indie star Ryan Adams, as well as veteran producer Tony Berg, that her solo career began to fully form. In 2015, Adams would produce her debut EP Killer and release it on his own Pax-Am label. The following year, she went on tour supporting artists like Julien Baker and the Violent Femmes.

By 2017, she signed to the indie record label Dead Oceans, who released her much-anticipated debut album, Stranger in the Alps, in September. The album, featuring one of her biggest influences — Conor Oberst on "Would You Rather" — came with rave reviews, and led her on her first headlining tour around the U.S. in early 2018.

Later that year, she'd focus on some key collaborations. Bridgers appeared on the soundtrack for the second season of the Netflix show 13 Reasons Why alongside Lord Huron on a remake of his track "The Night We Met." She also joined up with former tourmate Julien Baker and fellow singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus to form indie rock group boygenius. The band came together to write and record their debut self-titled EP, all in under a week. This quickly led to a well-received tour featuring all three artists, co-headlined by Bridgers and Baker with Dacus supporting. In early 2019, she unveiled a new group (and debut album) from Better Oblivion Community Center, a collaborative duo with Oberst.

    Wonderful seats chosen by me

by James Henry II on 8/30/22Vina Robles Amphitheatre - Paso Robles

I like to get certain tickets to specific artists I like. I knew this venue was going to be outside and that this was more chill and viby than say...Lady Gaga. I got the front row seat behind the GA pit and was still above them to see the show. I cried, I drank, took an eddie and was having the best night of my life. She was phantastic.

One of the best shows i’ve seen!!

by Tate on 8/24/22Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

I’ve seen a lot of shows over the years, and I have to say Phoebe Bridgers is easily in my top 5. She owns the stage, her band rocks and the crowd loves her!!!! At times fun, others moving and tear jerking, she brings the house down!! Overall an excellent time and well worth the price of a ticket.

    Merch line was too long

by Grace on 8/24/22Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Loved the venue, loved the performance!! Visually pleasing and sound was really good. Only problem is the merch line… honestly having only 1 person manning the booth is not very productive. At least 2 or 3 should be working since demand for merch is really high and the artist or artist’s team should know that.

    bad merch expensive

by Emma on 8/23/22Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Everything was perfect, EXCEPT for the merch experience. The lines were extremely slow and very very long, and they only accepted two types of payment, mastercard and something else i don’t remember. In addition, they only informed people that this is what they accepted when they were basically next in line. A large amount of people missed not only the opener, but the majority of the concert and was still not able to purchase the merch. Though, if you were not looking to get merch, the concert was perfect, I enjoyed every moment of it and everyone was extremely respectful.

    Life changing

by Traitor Joe on 8/23/22Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Phoebe’s show was the best show I’ve ever been to and it will forever be the best. She sister slayed the house boots down. I cried for 90 minutes and it’s exactly what I needed. Go if you need therapy and you will be healed.

    Cathartic, energetic, tender

by Caitlin on 8/23/22Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

This was such an amazing experience. The vocals and band were fantastic, the energy on stage and in the crowd was high, Phoebe was so tender with the audience. One of the best ever concert experiences that I’ve had, by far.

    Favourite Concert Ever??

by Emk on 8/23/22Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

I’ve been to a lot of concerts, and half way through I was struck by how this could possibly be the best one I’ve ever been too? Felt like going to your mega talented best friend’s concert with a bunch of her other best friends. Every one knew the words and was stoked to be there, it’s super fun, and still the artistic merit is definitely woven into the structure of the show / songs she chose. Emotional yet a total party, and if that doesn’t sum up Pheobe as a person I don’t know what does. Also every single band member is obvs just besties and I love it. 1000% would go again.

    Tough venue

by GJ on 8/23/22Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

We saw Phoebe at the Orpheum theatre in Vancouver. Unfortunately the venue was a little disappointing. The merch lines were out of control and only 1 person was working at one of the two tables so this made the lines go very slow! We had seating at the top of the balcony so it was extremely hot (my phone said 25 degrees but felt like 46) it was also hard to see the band from that far away. If Phoebe was on a platform or there was a video of the band playing, it could have been better for the rest of the crowd that was seated in the upper balcony to see. The sound was good and obviously the band rocked it! But I would have preferred to see them in a different venue.

Not Phoebes fault, but expected better

by Jenna on 8/23/22Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Because of the layout of the venue, when your seats aren’t super close, it’s really hard to see anything. Also, I really didn’t love that everyone basically recorded the whole concert on their phones, really took away from the experience. Phoebe herself was incredible and the show was awesome, I just love her so much.

One of the best concerts I’ve ever been too

by nixin on 8/23/22Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Everything was amazing!! Better than a lot of bigger concerts I have been to. The venue was perfect and had a great view from everywhere. I love phoebe so the concert itself was also perfect!

amazing performance… some fans are lame

by nikki on 8/23/22Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

phoebe was amazing and the show was unreal. the only complaint would be the fans.. you could kinda tell phoebe wasn’t into it, ignored everyone screaming to talk to her on stage. fans were cheering at inappropriate times (when she was talking about her stories of abuse, etc.) but other than that it was a great show, lights, smoke, and other effects were awesome :)

    Wow.

    by Matt Trzaskus on 8/9/22

I cried the whole show. I knew her music meant a lot to me, but something about seeing it live in a theater full of other people singing was just purely magical. An experience I will never forget.
